In the world of bottle shops, Red Line is doing things a bit differently. Offering a mix of beer AND wine along with 15 or so beers on tap, they've got most of the adult bevvy spectrum covered. Walk in and you'll find a handful of tables up front, beer shelves and cooler to the right, wine display on the left. In back you'll find the tasting bar and taps for a brewski. And they even do deliver in the area with a 30 minute promise! I grab an IPA at the bar and I'm given a little cup of snackies to munch on at the bar. Red Line has some folks lingering in the space ranging from NC State kids to more senior peeps, a bit of hip-hop is popping through the speakers to keep us company. I like the overall concept and service was fast and friendly. My only hesitation is the prices. Pints at Red Line were in the $7 - $8.50 range which is pretty steep in my book. So 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up and hoping they realize they are in a college neighborhood! read more

Red Line Beer & Wine has a good selection of beers on tap; however, they are a bit overpriced. If you choose a beer from the cooler it will cost you a $2 corkage fee which is the highest that I have seen around. This place does not deliver liquor, only beer and wine [yes, people call and ask]. It only makes sense to order if you live closer as the delivery fee can get pricey quickly. The service was friendly and they had TV's so we could watch soccer so that was a plus. This is a good spot to grab a drink [or drinks] before or after dinner on Hillsborough Street. read more

This people is BS I ordered a $30 bottle and they sent me a $5 bottle, I thought it was a DoorDash problem so I asked for the refund, I ordered Again, but told the DoorDash guy to check the bottle before bringing it, and they try again to send us the same bottle! The guys said he didn't have anything else and he could give has two bottle WTF? Went here while waiting for a restaurant to open up. And wow was this a great find! If you have been to sams shop in Durham, it's similar but there are a lot more on tap! I went there with my friend and we just chatted with the bar keeps sharing fun stories of different beers we like and where we were from. It was a great time! On top of that, there was an amazing price on the beer that I got! $3 for my pint! I enjoyed it. You are also welcome to buy bottled beer and wine and consume it there. This review is only for their delivery service. 1) Their website is not great. It's very slow and originally it quoted me a 67mi drive to deliver to my location (which is actually 11mi away). 2) I ordered 4 items, 3 of which were substituted without my permission. There's an option on the order form where I specifically noted to NOT allow substitutes. Some of the substitutions are half the price I paid. (Founders KBS vs Breakfast Stout) 3) I called the store for a refund, but have yet to receive it. Will file a credit card complaint if I have to. 4) Comments on their social media feed were simply deleted, instead of reaching out. Poor customer service all around. read more

The bartender was incredible here. He has a beard and dark hair and had his hair up in a bun. He took amazing care of us. We sampled a beer and when we were unsure, he went ahead and gave he a few more to sample. He even walked around and let us try a sample of the snacks. This place is a whole vibe guys. I had a delivery beer delivery the email says will be delivered in 45 mins. I waited to two hours and called them, they said it way on the way and will be there in 15 mins. I waited for another two hours and still no delivery, tried to call but they didn't answer their BUSINESS phone. They deliver the beers around 10 PM (about 8 hours after the order was place and when we were asleep. They didn't ring the bell or call to confirm the Age. Among all deliveries, this is the worst we ever had. The fact that they lied that it was to deliver within 20 mins and not calling to let us know it will be delivered in 8 hours for a local delivery simply says they don't care about customer service. Red Line is a bottle shop right off of Hillsborough near NC State. I have stopped in several times on my way home from work to grab a bottle of wine or a six pack and last week was the first time that I came with a group to grab a drink. I really like the atmosphere-- there are several seating areas and the long wooden tables were big enough to accommodate our group of 10 people. The music isn't too loud so you are actually able to have a conversation. They have a good variety of beers on tap and I appreciate that they have a range of wines available at different prices. They also have an app where you can order beer and wine to be delivered (and they say it will be there in under 30 minutes although I haven't tried it). The staff was friendly and even brought over some snacks for our large group. And they have some great drink specials throughout the week. I did visit during the summer so I don't know if there is more of a college vibe during the school year, but it felt like a relaxed place to meet a friend for drinks. read more

Red line is the best for wine/beer delivery in Raleigh EXCEPT for their really terrible log in system. I've actually saved my password specifically to Red Line so I knew it, and it still will say user error/unable to log in and it's SO FRUSTRATING. It's not just the one time, it's every time I try to log in. And if you just need to reset your password, they send you an email which sometimes has taken 30 min to send. They also make a weird extra security request to add an extra symbol to your password? It's a mess. Otherwise, all good. Waiting on my password to reset now. See you in 5 hours. read more

I have some friends that come here every week for trivia and they love it! I haven't been to trivia yet, but any time I've gone just to spend time with friends or colleagues or any other occasion, it's been great! The staff are all so nice and accommodating. A group I'm a part of requested to use the space to host an event and the staff were very welcoming.
