First, the Red Lobster that I normally eat at has really good food and service. But my friends and I had an opportunity to eat at the one in Monroe. There were 4 of us and they took us to a booth for 4 people that didn't give us enough elbow room. We asked for a larger table and were taken to a table that looked to be about 4 feet wide. We told the staff that this was still too small and asked for one of the larger tables (and there were several of them). We were told that these tables were in a different section and she could not seat us there. Needless to say, these tables were full within 10 minutes and one of them was seating four people. I ordered 2 dozen raw oysters. Each dozen oysters is on a platter that is about 18 inches in diameter which took up a good portion of the table and I had 2 of them. I noticed that each of my friends had to move toward the end of the table which did not leave much room for the guy on the other end. I complained again about the size of the table and got the same results. It seems that this Red Lobster has forgotten the Cardinal rule of all restaurants, "The customer is always right" especially on requests that are so simple to grant. The only other complaint I had is they had no sweet tea. My oysters were really good, My friend did send some of the shrimp back. He said it tasted gritty, like it had sand in it. The service, besides what is stated above, was really good. The waitress was friendly and even though she was new, I thought she did an excellent job. I would be hesitant to return since, in my opinion, management does not have the customers best interest at heart. read more

A 45 min wait for a table, then another 45 for salads... 1 hour in and still no food...1 1/2 to get most of our order, I guess they thought that we ordered to much. Worst experience of my life. Calling in an order started as a simple process and ended with an hour long journey to simply receive my food, which was improperly cooked, which all of it wasn't even given specifically the lobster. Red Lobster literally forgot to give me the lobster I ordered. I would rather be drafted to war against North Korea, and eat nothing but MREs for the rest of my life, than be forced to experience this cartoonish level of rudeness and incompetence again. read more

My husband and I dined at the Red Lobster in Monroe, LA tonight for our belated anniversary dinner. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great but, best of all, our server, Kandace made sure we had everything we needed and kept our glasses topped off. She was super friendly and very attentive. The entire staff was friendly and even though there was a fairly lengthy wait for a table we had no complaints. First off, as soon as we walked in no one greeted us, when it was two employees standing right beside us. We get seated and come time to order, the waitress actually compares their food to Captain D's. But overall the food wasn't good and the service was horrible and I heard this a long time ago but for it to still be the same after so many years just amazes me. When it came down to pay for the food the waitress had the nerve to say to me, " girl you go let him make you pay for the dinner?" I have never before in my life written a review for a restaurant, no matter how bad the service or food may have been, but I have also never been so appalled and insulted either. Typical of this location, the service was slow and not very friendly, and the food was mediocre at best, but that was to be expected. The real issue began after my son and I finished our meal and I began to wrap up the last biscuit to bring home to my dogs. When I lifted the napkin the biscuits were served on, we discovered the dish underneath had a big ole glob of chocolate on it. The thing is, we didn't have dessert. This was obviously a dish a previous customer had used, and no attempt had been made to wash it or even wipe it off. When the waitress (Chasity A) was advised of this, she immediately replied with "I didn't do it! I was training that other guy and he must have just put a napkin on top of it and not known better." WHAT!?!?!? How could anyone think that is acceptable?? No apology, just immediately blaming the new guy. She told us she would tell the manager and after about 15 minutes of waiting, we had to ask another employee to get a manager for us. When he arrived, I asked if Chasity had spoken with him about the issue and he stated she had not. At this point, I am so upset, I'm shaking, but still trying to maintain my composure as I explain to him what is going on. The manager states he will pull back the payment for the check and provide us with a $20 gift card to make it right (like we will ever eat there again...). After a few minutes, he returns with a bill for $19.87 (he only deducted for our soft drinks and one entree!) and a $25 gift card. Apparently that extra $5 was supposed to make it okay that we were still being charged for them risking our health and treating us like crap. It didn't. Then he actually acted surprised when I asked to use the gift card to pay for the remaining balance! He eventually agreed and a few minutes later he returned to the table with my receipt and the gift card with a remaining balance of $5.13. Really!?!? What am I supposed to do with that?? I have never been so insulted in my life. The health and well-being of their customer's is obviously not a concern for them & unless you fall deathly ill within the restaurant, you still must pay. Unbelievable! While my son and I are hoping and praying we don't get sick from eating off of some stranger's dirty dishes, the staff at Red Lobster believe that as long as you throw a napkin over it, it should be okay. So I was just there and I was told it was a 2 hour wait for a 6 top! That is INSANE. There weren't many people waiting but still a 2 hour wait. I've worked in the restaurant industry for many years and that is outrageous! This would be considered a turnover for the ENTIRE restaurant. read more
