The only reason I gave this a two star instead of a one star is due to the manager being super friendly! Hostess was nice other employees were nice. Our waiter had no personality... asked us if we needed anything and we requested more tea.. it never comes.. our waiter comes back by and asks us if we need anything and we remind them of the tea. He brings the tea and we ask for the check. We are paying with a gift card and the difference on our personal card. Waiter comes back and says the gift card was declined. I inform him we check the balance and it has the money on it. He needs to get a manager to help him. He leaves again and comes back and says the manager and himself tried and it isn't working.. I called the number to the card right in front of him and it said the balance.. he shrugs his shoulders.. I tell him to go get the manager... manager comes and is super friendly says we need to activate the card. I told him there was no activation anything on that card... as the manager stares at the card it dawned on him that they were entering in the wrong card number.... Voila... it worked... but like really Food was sub par... chicken Alfredo... had no flavor.. we had to ask for the biscuits.. they were normal.. The best part was the crab queso!! Very disappointed in my lunch selection today. I didn't want anything heavy so I thought I would stop in for the Lobster pizza but they were out of tomatoes. I chose the pick three and my selection was lobster bisque and shrimp cocktail with the main dish being the Baja shrimp bowl. Soup didn't have much flavor but was warm on this cold rainy day. Shrimp were a good size and cold. The Baja left a lot to be desired, the black beans would have been better hot instead of cold out of the fridge. The tomatoes tasted old and mushy as did the slaw. Please pull the legs off the shrimp before plating the Baja shrimp over the rice and then a mayo sauce. Pulling a long leg out of my mouth at the table is embarrassing. I love Red Lobster but this location is a substandard location. First of all, the waiter had a big group so he was occupied with them. Fine, I get it. Ok. Second, we order an appetizer and he comes back with they are out of Lobster pizza. Fine. We finally get our food, never got refills. He was arguing with another waitress about what tables were his and was aggravated already. The big group had separate tickets which he messed up several times. Finally, this is the icing on the cake. THE WAITER QUIT! Walked out. So the big table was left waiting to cash out. The manager had to come clean up that hot mess. This was the worst thing that happened to me today! The utensils were dirty and the staff was very inexperienced. Almost every decent food item I wanted was unavailable! I normally want to like the food but it was lacking so badly that I don't think I could ever return. I was overcharged for a upgraded side item Mac and cheese with bacon also. It's funny because at the end of the day the leftovers fell out the plastic container and I didn't even care about it because it wasn't good. I have been a customer of Red Lobster's since I was a boy and now I'm 61, we went the 23rd in celebration of my birthday. As we were walking inside the stinch was overwhelming. The place smelled like wet carpet, the celling title was hanging down, when I asked the waitress she seemed as unconcerned as I do about getting my knee drained. She was the sloppiest and worse waitress I've ever had, handing us the hot plates and not putting them on the table. It was the worse service, food, and environment I've experienced in a long while. The service and food was HORRIBLE! We sat for 20 minutes waiting for WATER! My husband's bisque came before the water...he waited for it to cool then ate it and we still didn't have drinks. Then the waitress brought our food and STILL no drinks AND no biscuits. The only reason I eat here is for the biscuits! I ordered Caesar salad with grilled shrimp and they used iceberg lettuce instead of Romaine and the grilled shrimp was practically raw and cold. We sent back the shrimp but did not let them replace them. We finally got our water and eventually biscuits. Surprising This was a nice oasis of calm with good food and good service. Great place to eat. As soon as we walked onto the restaurant Brittany (server) was ready with menu and brought us to the Table. Apparently she saw us parking at the front! The service was great. I ordered blackened Tilapia. The taste of the Tilapia was not up to the par. There was something missing... but it was ok to eat. Other food we order was great. So Brittany came and asked how was the food... so we said great. Then I just gave her my opinion about the Tilapia in a very nice way. She offered new Order Of Tilapia or anything I wanted to order. But we say no. Few minutes later, Brittany comes with Chocolate Wave cake with 2 scoops of Ice cream. She said, it was on the house. She just wanted to make us happy. Our server here was exceptional, our food was better than I ever remember, and we left pleasantly stuffed with nothing to complain about. Say yes to the Lobster Pizza. Eh. It's a chain. Not terribly difficult to mess up. Arrived at 8:45 on a Saturday night and there was a 15 minute wait! This is Monroe, folks. Upon glancing around, I saw that lots of tables were empty, they just needed to be cleared/cleaned. That's a big pet peeve of mine. Not cleaning tables fast enough, but also for people already dinning and having to look at dirty tables while trying to enjoy their meal. Oh well. My salad was drenched (and that's an understatement) with dressing. Ask for it on the side, or else you get Ranch dressing with a side of lettuce. My meal was decent. After getting a room at Best Western (finest hotel in Monroe, BTW), we decided to try the Red Lobster Restaurant in Monroe. We were warmly welcomed by a caring young man who was attentive and took notice of my daughters compliment of the floral settings in the restaurant. It became apparent how thoughtful this Host truly was, when he introduced us to the waitress who had worked so hard to beautify her workplace with her remarkable handmade arrangements! I could feel my energy replenished by these people's outlook on every-day life! And then we met our server, Alex. Younger than most, but with ears beyond his years and eyes from the wise. I love red lobster but I will not be returning to this location! Firstly, they send a text message when you're using curbside telling you to reply back when you're outside. After 15 minutes of sitting there, I had to call to inform them I was here. After another 15 minutes, I called again to see what the hold up was. All in all, it took 50 minutes to get my curbside order which is absolutely ridiculous. And then they wait to tell me they are out of something I ordered and replaced it with something else AFTER they hand it to me! I know it was to-go but the food just looked thrown together. This was TERRIBLE and I'm never going back on my dime. This restaurant to generic and commercial for my liking. The location is good being that it's in the same parking lot as the Pecanland Mall. The waitress was not that good being that she didn't give any updates on why it took this meal about 45-50 mins. to come out. Then she said, they don't have any tilapia and I only can get flounder fish. My fish wasn't flounder, it was tilapia I believe they got from Sams 4 mins away. My friend dragged me here, regardless of the fact that he knows I don't really care for seafood. But I am always willing to grade on a curve in these situations. Right off the bat, us and the three people in front of us were told there would be a 5-10 minute wait, in spite of there being no one else waiting and the parking lot being fairly empty. We were finally seated about 15 minutes later. The dining room was not even close to being full or busy, so again, we have no idea what the wait was all about. We decided on he lobster pizza as an appetizer, because I do like lobster. What they brought out was a tortilla, with melted cheese, tomatoes, and lobster bits so tiny, you would need a microscope to find them. It reminded me of something I would make in my 420 days, when I had the munchies and hardly any food in the house. I ordered a burger and fries, (sacrilege, but I'm not a seafood fan) and it was terrible. It tasted exactly like one of those pre-made burgers you buy in a box, in Walmart's frozen food section and had a ton of salt on it. I begrudgingly ate it, since I was ordering it off the lunch menu and it was dinner at the time we were eating. The service was good, as well as the tea. The waitress was new and very friendly, and the only reason I'm giving a two star rating instead of one. Maybe you'll like it better than I did, if you are a seafood lover. Just don't order the lobster pizza and for gods sake, DON'T order the burger! *Don't get me wrong. I like good seafood. There are plenty of good seafood restaurants in the Monroe/West Monroe area. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! We arrived at 7:27 on a Tuesday night. Parking lot half empty (or half full..haha!). No other people waiting. We had a party of 11. They said it would be a 20 minute wait. At 8:10, I approached the hostess stand to let her know we had been waiting twice the amount of time she had originally said. She was sweet but said that they only had one table in the restaurant that seated over 6. Only one. And that they had a party of ten that had finished their meal but was just sitting around. I told her we would gladly split up our party. She said she would go check to see if that was possible. And....we never saw her again.... 15 minutes later, my brother tried to find her or a manager...and he saw the restaurant was about 1/4th full (or 3/4ths empty haha!). So we left. Server, Johnny B is nice and friendly and spot on. The crab legs were cold and dry as well as the lobster tail. The shrimp was OK. My thoughts were that my $70 would have been better spent on bags of cow manure. At least then I could grow some decent vegetables. My wife, however had a decent lobster bake that she shared with me. The presentation of the food wasn't all that great, however it had good flavor and was cooked right. I will not dine in this establishment again until it changes name or has a big sign out front that says, "Under new management." The server didn't seem surprised at all that I was dissatisfied with my food. Did offer to speak with manager, coz he couldn't find the manager earlier when I had a question about food substitution after it was announced that they were out of several menu items.
