Went to dinner with my mom last night. Talk about a fantastic meal! We gave it a 10 out of 10! My go to meal is there ultimate platter. The ice tea was freshly brewed, The cheddar bay biscuits were fresh and warm and tasty as ever. The salad was your typical Red Lobster salad that everybody loves. The brussels sprouts were absolute perfection, The side of broccoli was cooked and seasoned perfectly though the serving portion was little small and of course the ultimate platter was the ultimate! The wait staff was friendly and helpful! The floor manager came around towards the end of the meal and asked if everything was good. The restaurant was lovely and clean. The bathroom was just as welcoming. The only downfall that I can mention is the cheddar bay biscuits, though very, very tasty have decreased in size from many years ago. I suggest putting them back to the proper serving size to keep consistent with Red Lobsters standards that everyone knows and loves. read more

This is towards the order online service: I ordered 2 lunch meals and a shrimp cocktail. Confirmation gave me my pick up time. I arrived at location and was directed to go to bar area for pick ups. I still had to sit and wait 25-30 mins. Unsure what could have been the cause, nor was my order something complex "lobster roll and fries". By the time I received my food I had to eat it in the car and rush back to work... LATE def will not pick this place again for a pick up lunch. I hope that they acknowledge the importance of why they even have the option to order online for pick ups. read more

Like most people, I don't expect a visit to a chain restaurant to be 5 star, but I was pleasantly surprised! We live in Rhode Island which hasn't had a Red Lobster in the greater Providence area for close to 20 years if memory serves me correct. All the commercials proved to be too much, and my wife and I decided to pay a visit for a belated 21st anniversary lunch. I went for the endless shrimp, and my wife had a lobster craving. While her lobster meal was a little pricey, it came with two sides as well as a salad. You could do much worse. It was expertly prepared. I tried as many different shrimp that I could stuff down. My favorites were the Nashville hot and the scampi. There was a few that I didn't get to. Maybe if I didn't have any cheddar biscuits, but how can you resist? I've heard stories about cold undersized shrimp and bad service during this promotion, but not today! Malika took care of us, and she was right on the ball with refills. When we came in we had the place to ourselves, but it was filling up when we left. He didn't know the menu at all but that wasn't the issue for me he could have been new. He was very unprofessional though and had a snotty attitude when trying to order. You would think he would want us to order a dessert, instead he acted annoyed by it. Oh the shame, the SHAME I will receive as a New Englander surrounded by scrumptious seafood restaurants who intentionally decided to eat at a pre-fab fish joint...but guess what....my loyalty lies with anyone who, upon arrival, presents a glorious basket filled with hot and steamy CHEDDAR BAY BISCUITS. Always watching to make sure drinks were full, plates were cleared, and asking if each course was to our standard, Deanna made the cut of top 5 best servers recalled to memory today. I'd give this place a six if I could. We dined here this evening (my wife and I with my parents). Three of us ordered "endless shrimp," while my wife had salmon. While it did take a little time, it wasn't that long a wait (not long enough to complain about if anything). When they brought our meal one manager told us that we could order dessert to eat in the restaurant or to take home in them for the wait. A couple of minutes later, the service manager came up and told us that our full meal was on them. We were all surprised! As my mother really enjoys Red Lobster, we alway go to one somewhere when the parents come to visit. We've waited longer at other locations in the past. In fact we've often waited much longer to just be seated (whereas we were seated right away this evening). The worst service and staff ever. I came in during lunch hours alone and sat down in a booth in the bar area after I was not greeted by an hostess. Waiters seemed to be wrapping silverware. I had to ask for a menu and the staff said "oh you're dining in". Yes why am I not supposed to? Furthermore the waitress that came to assist me was unprofessional made a drink at the bar had a cigarette in her hand and allowed me to see. Only giving it four stars because it smells SO much of seafood. We ordered the Ultimate Feast (delicious), popcorn shrimp (more for fussy kids), and the tilapia which was fresh. I hadn't eaten at a Red Lobster in probably 15 years before coming here recently. My memories were of a decent chain restaurant, but nothing special. So I was pleasantly surprised by this fairly new RL location in North Haven. The place has a clean, contemporary, almost upscale look to it (no kitschy sea-related stuff hanging from the walls) that works nicely. As for food, I had a lunch-sized piece of grilled trout. I'll give them props - the fish was grilled just perfectly. The sides of broccoli and rice were well seasoned, and didn't taste like they'd been sitting for hours. Split a coconut shrimp appetizer - a bit sweeter than I'd prefer, but again, well-cooked. The prices maybe seem a bit high compared to other chain restaurants if you just compare average prices of all entrees, but I don't think they're high if you directly compare to seafood dishes at those restaurants. Service was very efficient and professional. Pretty much the only issue I had was that the tables in the booths are a tad high. This isn't a big issue in and of itself, but we ordered a couple of cocktails, which they serve in very narrow and tall glasses which are awkward to drink with the high table. Red Lobster is owned by the same company that owns Olive Garden, and I think they're very similar in this sense: they both are naturally looked down upon here in Connecticut, because we have our own local seafood and Italian restaurants that are just fine, thank you very much. However, if you actually bother to go to either one, you can't help but come away at least moderately impressed. read more

Before this visit I hadn't been to a Red Lobster since I was about 10 years old. I was visiting my bff in New Haven and she has a weird list of foods she eats. On that list is shrimp and among her favorite spots for shrimp is, you guessed it, Red Lobster. The garlic cheddar biscuits were delicious. My coconut shrimp was also yummy and they give you a LOT. Also, the entrees come with a salad which is great. I ordered the baked potato and it was delicious. Also, if you ask them they bring more biscuits for you to take home with you! That is amazing! Shrimp isn't very good reheated but I ate them the next day anyway. Yum yum yum. To me, Red Lobster is a pig out fest. It isn't a place to go for high quality food that feels fresh/organic/healthy. It is a place to go when you want some grease and to feel very full. The meal wasn't phenomenal or impressive but it fulfills a craving. Okay... So upon coming into the establishment we were greeted very nicely. Unfortunately this was not the case on 5/3 8:45pm by the pm bartender. Not only was she extremely uninterested in taking Any order of ours but when she came over she insisted on looking at her watch rolling her eyes and sighing.. luckily I was extremely hungry and honestly New another server in the dinning room would change this experience. My bf and I ate here for an early dinner, 4:00pm - which is the time to go if you don't want to wait in line. It had been years since we've been to a Red Lobster and received a gift card so we were excited to try it again. The decor was very nice, newly renovated very classy. The hostess was very prompt and courteous. My bf ordered the Ultimate Feast and I had the Lobsterfest dish with two lobster tails and seafood Alfredo. Our waiter was awesome! Very friendly, super knowledgeable on the menu and offered great suggestions. His service was prompt and attentive. My bf got the Cesar salad I had the garden salad. Both were fresh and cold with yummy dressings. Those cheddar bay biscuits cannot be beat! Hot and fresh super moist melting in your mouth! We both enjoyed our dinners. We rarely ever eat at Red Lobster just because we tend to like other restaurants more, and Red Lobster can get pretty pricey as far as chain restaurants go, but we decided to give them another shot after receiving a gift card there as a present. Well, the food was about as mediocre as we remembered. The Cheddar Bay biscuits, which were always my favorite part of the meal, somehow didn't taste as good as I remembered. They were light and fluffy, but ultimately pretty flavorless. Our salads were fresh, which was nice, and my mother enjoyed her chicken tortilla soup, but our entrees were pretty lacking. I got the best entree at the table-- a lobster + shrimp combo that included a wood-grilled lobster tail (pretty tasty and well-cooked, but wimpy in size), wood-grilled shrimp (also enjoyed and surprisingly plentiful), and shrimp scampi (the weakest of the entrees...the only flavor was the butter it was swimming in). My father was greatly disappointed with his lobster-stuffed tilapia. It was tiny and not all that flavorful. My dad has a pretty large appetite, so I felt sorry for him, when the plate arrived, and he looked down at what was about 7-8 bites of fish. My mother got the shrimp combo with the same shrimp that I got. It was about half the price of the stuffed tilapia, but ultimately a much better value. If you want an extra lobster tail for about $10 more, the lobster and shrimp combos might be your thing, I guess, but if I came back, I'd just order the shrimp combo and leave it at that. All of our sides were satisfactory, if a little oversalted. In general, the chef was very liberal with the salt. I have a pretty high salt tolerance, but even I thought everything bordered on too salty, and my parents definitely thought it was too salty. The restaurant was overall very clean, and we loved our waitress. She was super nice and accommodating of my mother's unique allergy situation. The look of the restaurant is far classier than you'd expect from the food. I hear Red Lobster is closing a lot of their restaurants, and after eating here, I can see why. I think their main problem is the huge disparity between the pictures of the seafood in the ads and the real thing. The sizes of their portions are about half the size of the portions in the ads, and it really leaves you disappointed when the food actually arrives at the table. I guess at that point, they've already lured you in and you're going to have to pay, but if they want repeat customers, they're going to have to increase portion sizes, decrease prices, or increase the quality of the food. None of the Lobsterfest entrees were particularly worth the price, in my opinion, and I feel like I can get better seafood for cheaper elsewhere. If you've been to Red Lobster before and had a good experience, then maybe this is your kind of place, but I wasn't a fan, and I wouldn't recommend it to first-timers. read more

For a chain restaurant they do a great job. Some fine dining establishments should take notice at their customer service which is far above any place in downtown new haven. We are not really seafood people but we were in New Haven to pick up someone at the train station, so we Went on a Friday in Lent for the seafood--very pleasantly surprised at the quality and the excellent service! So busy that we sat at the bar, all staff were very accommodating and cheerful. My husband had a glazed Mahimahi with mango salsa, delicious! I had Parmesan crusted tilapia, love love love this dish! The wines were just right, and of course the cheesy biscuits were a pleasant bonus! My husband used to be a chef and said he would definitely come here again! I hadn't been to a Red Lobster since I was a kid. But, I was out shopping and running errands - and starving. So I stopped in to get lunch. I was pleasantly surprised. I got some kind of seafood platter - lobster tail, shrimp and scallops. The lobster tail was dry - but the shrimp were quite good - and the scallops were actually delicious - I wish I had ordered a full lunch of just the scallops. I also had their warm apple crumble with vanilla ice cream for dessert. I couldn't finish it - and that's saying something. Next time I'm STARTING with dessert. Best part of the lunch - Deena, my waitress. Absolutely charming - and drop dead gorgeous. She was attentive, helpful, and polite - which is not always the case in restaurants at tables for one! I'm not sure what the occasion would be where I actually would seek out this restaurant. But I certainly won't avoid it...and almost look forward to my next errand and shopping day! read more

The experience was exactly as I expected, middle of the road dining experience. I had gone with a friend that had never had Red Lobster before, so of course I had to drag him in the restaurant to try the amazing cheesy biscuits. And the cheesy biscuits were phenomenal. No disappointment there. I wasn't in the mood for something too heavy, so I stuck with a salad. I didn't expect it to be amazing, but I was a little disappointed. The only salad that can be eaten as a meal is the Caesar salad. I wish it had more lettuce and meat, it truly just felt like 1.5 side salads. As for the restaurant, it was quite empty. The usual Red Lobster decor, which is quite intimate actually. There were many waiters around, each with only 2 or 3 tables, but it was a struggle to get water and biscuit refills. As far as seafood restaurants go, an actor once said, "Red Lobster is the IHOP of seafood". Which is true, but this Red Lobster stands head & foot above the rest. Everytime i've come here I've had food that was cooked to perfection, never overcooked or undercooked, everything always beautifully presented instead of slopped on a plate. Not bad only because North Haven is home to mostly chain restaurants so I they need to reviewed accordingly. Always busy during the dinner rush every single night. Weekends will always have people waiting out the door and into the parking lot. Looks like people go here if they can't get into Olive Garden and vice versa. That is why it known as "Lobster Garden". Food is ok though very overpriced. Why eat here when you can travel a few towns away and eat fish in a restaurant that is close to the ocean and not pay as much. Our Server Melissa was wonderful. The biscuits were light, crisp on the outside, tender on the outside - we were given four, and could have done more. My salad swam in dressing. The steak and filet were perfectly cooked. The lobster was over cooked and a bit rubbery. The crab legs were lovely. The sweet potatoes were ....not right. The texture was all wrong. It was almost like eating liquidy baby food. I think they were going for a nicely pureed, light texture but instead it was a bit too buttery and the effect was gross. You needed a straw, not a fork or spoon. Ick :( The Key lime pie was omgtoosweet. No real lime flavor, it was just sugar in the guise of a hunk of key lime. I was so sad! The chocolate wave looks dark and rich but isnt. Not much chocolate flavor.... More.... sponge. Not cake sponge. I mean like.... sweet dish washing sponge. If you LIKE dark rich chocolate, this is not it. If you like milk chocolate, If you are the type to eat canned icing with a spoon? Your opinion may differ completely from mine. The tables are funky here, We sat in a booth and usually in a booth one feels like they can move around a bit. Not here, the table was a bit higher and it was like sliding into a seat where your chair is already slid into position. It was a little weird. The booth DID however - have fantastic lumbar support and the seat was soft and cushy. Our bill was horrendous, and 1.5 times the amount I expected it to be, not including the tip. We wont be returning here, it was a really long drive and I cant imagine spending the amount that we did for three people again anytime in the near future. read more

Said he would be back but turned around and started taking another tables order. After 10 mins I had to go search for silverware. Kristin asked if I needed more crackers with my soup (very considerate), very fast, accurate, and the salad was even on a cold plate (excellent touch kitchen!). Saturday night. We know it's a busy time of day for any restaurant. We anticipate the wait, especially if you don't plan ahead and take advantage of call-ahead seating. In our case at the Red Lobster in North Haven, we had an idea of the wait we were about to experience, but nothing compared to what we actually endured. Upon entry, we were given a timeframe of about 30 minutes and put our name on their list. Mind you, no fancy square buzzer was handed out. We decided to walk across the way to Big Lots to kill time, and when we knew it would be time to be seated, we headed back only to learn there was yet another 20 minute wait, all the while, we witnessed party after party (who arrived after us) being seated before us. My daughter had to use the bathroom, (bad mistake as it was absolutely disgusting), and as we wove through the maze of tables, we noticed not just 1, but 8 tables completely empty !! Each table would have easily accommodated our party of five. We'd also watched the tables in the bar area sit unoccupied, and were given an excuse by the hostesses and bartenders that "they're part of the wait". When we asked one last time when we'd be seated, they said yet another 20 minutes. Five grumbling tummies and fuming attitudes later, we told them we would not be staying, and left the establishment. I'm not one to complain about things of this nature, but this was probably one of the worst experiences I've endured in a long time. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review. I am going to send this to their corporate office shortly thereafter, as this establishment definitely needs to shape up, not just with their front of house staff, but also management. Also, i'll go so far as to say they made it completely obvious that they sat people of non-Caucasian descent before us. Yep. I said it. Why anyone would wait for fake seafood is beyond me. I love Red Lobster, especially the one in North Haven. The people there are really nice and their service is really quick. The server I had was Marta, she was patient with our table and our complicated orders, she checked up us and made sure we were enjoying our food. She also joked around with us, one of the best waitresses I've ever had! The food was good as always, I had the wood grilled sirloin with the grilled shrimp with broccoli and a baked potato. Also, Marta gave us a lot of biscuits, I took some home . I'd recommend going to red lobster in north haven. read more
