I feel the service here can be a hit or a miss. We have come on days where the service was amazing! Then there have been days when we have been forgotten about to bring our salads or drinks. Ok here we go again. Thought we would give them a try again tonight. Bad idea. First ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer. Came out a very dark brown and still oil pooled in spots. The fryer oil needs to be cleaned or changed. Made me a little nervous about the fish and chips I ordered. But thought for sure there was no way it would come out the same way. Well guess what... it did, 30 seconds after setting the food down the server asked how everything was. Did not know at that time how bad it really was. I figured I would let her know when she brought the drink refills back to the table. But I was mistaken again. We were a small party of 3 and she was to busy with a new party of 12 that came in. So we waited about 25 minutes before seeing her again. Oh the refills still never came. I think the fish and chips sat in the dirty oil way to long, because that is all I can taste is oil. The bar area was disappointing. Very small TVs and only 2 on the entire bar so there aren't many good seats. Got the endless shrimp, and the shrimp were small. Nothing like the commercial. Flavor was good, but not worth the price. Probably won't be back. read more

Don't do it! Terrible service, dirty tables, average food. I don't normally frequent chain restaurants for this reason but my husband wanted lobster and as it was the middle of the day this was the only reasonable option. We have been there before and had terrible service and a bad experience...I don't know why I thought it may be different this time but I figured maybe the last time they just had a bad day. There was a 10 minute wait (on a Sunday at 3pm??) so we opted to sit at the bar. Meanwhile there were tables that were open when we got there that were still open when we left, so I am not sure why we could not be seated there. The service was atrocious, we never got silverware or napkins (had to steal from nearby table), never got promised drink refills (finished my drink during my appetizer and never got another one - had to sip off my husband's just to wash the food down), never got a side that we ordered, bar was sticky and wet, dirty dishes never cleared in front of us (three courses of dishes just piled up in front of us). The WORST part is that the staff congregate at a bar table - hooting and hollering, complaining about the job, eating. Apparently if they are "off duty" that means they don't have to smile or be polite to customers, as I saw one roll her eyes when I finally took silverware rollups from a bar table because we couldn't get our server's attention to give us some. Completely unprofessional. I can't believe management allows that. Get a break room for god's sake. We will never return. read more

1 1/2 wait for a table! On Mothers Day. Ok I get that. However an 1 1/2 hour wait for our food to come out, not acceptable! To start out we sit down, waiter takes our drink order, drinks come out and he takes our order, salads come out but oh wait we have no silver wear..... Finally get silver wear and then bread with no plates! Come on you run a restaurant and you know what the big holidays consist of so why is your business running at this slow of pace??? This place is need of a better management team!! If I could give no stars I would and I will NEVER return here! Your management should have been out on the floor apologizing to tables instead of the wait staff who probably got crappy tips because of the incapable management who do not know how to run a functional restaurant! This may be just a chain restaurant but I love it and don't have anything bad to say about it. Service is always great and the waiters are friendly. You get as much cheddar biscuits as you want and they are delicious. Many of the appetizers are also great. For dinner I always get the coconut shrimp and they are always crispy, flavorful, and very filling. The atmosphere of the place is nice and easy on the eyes, and creates a more comfortable experience. read more

Ok so i was a littel hesitate ti try a "fast food" type of seafood place but we were in a rush and with the kids so we tried Red losbster. I must say it was Great! the biscuits were delicious amd I had Tilapia and it was sooo fresh, the kids popcorn shrimp, and hubby had shrimp. I was expecting "frozen" tasting food, but it was not at all! the apps were great too, lobster pizza yum! Ithe only bad part was they were not cheap, you are paying for a "high" quality resturaunt, id recommend this place if you feel like being in a casual environment & you dnt have to get dressed up.if were in the area again we will definitley be a returning customer:) read more

Everything was way too salty. The best were the biscuits. If you order land and sea make sure you order rare because medium rare will come out over cooked. The trio combo were so salty! Saw a friend & they ended up leaving after waiting over 30 minutes for drinks & not receiving them. As far as our waiter was very random at following up with us. Too noisy, had a group of 10 with 4 or 5 little ones next to us that screamed & screamed the entire time. Went for dinner last Thursday the 8th and sat at the bar. I had the shrimp and sirloin and my gf had the pick 4 special...the food was delicious, totally enjoyed the meal, bartender was attentive and nice. Now the bad and the only 3 star review I have ever given (which I hate giving by the way cause I work in a restaurant part time) I ordered a Budweiser beer on draft, beer was totally bad and the part that kills me is I asked the bartender to pour herself a splash of beer to try it, her reaction is "that's gross ewwww, yea that's the bottom of the keg it's definitely bad" so she agrees that the beers bad, she never offers me a new different beer or to comp it wtf lets just keep the bad keg on for the next beer drinker and not do anything to make my beer right....lost two stars right there read more

I think the staff need additional training. I have visited a few times and received the wrong order or did not receive my order at all or a meal but not the drink or food but no eating utensils etc. I have also received a few items where the presention is very different from picture. I was served a dessert once that looked liked it was turned upside down. Food was ok; I find quality of dishes here are inconsistent, even for the same dishes. It is a chain seafood restaurant, so don't expect too much. Sometimes they forget to complete the dish, e.g. salsa on the fish. I had to knock off the stars though not so much for the food (generic, as far as it goes, but edible), but for the service - or more accurately, the lack thereof. From the start, our waitress seemed really rushed. There was barely anyone else there (even at lunch time on a Saturday morning), so there was no reason she had to hurry. She gave off an air of impatience, but we just ordered. After she gave us our orders, we could not find her. She disappeared. No drink refills. No checking to make sure our orders were fine (salsa was missing, one was spicy although we specifically asked if it could be made not spicy). We were basically done with the meal and still needed drinks. We managed to flag down another waiter passing by, who politely took our drink orders. Not long after, our waitress reappeared, after delivering the order to another one of her tables. She asked if we needed anything else, so we told her we just gave our refill orders to someone else. She quickly went to check on that waiter, then came back and took our refill orders in case the other waiter was "too slow", went away again, then reappeared with our drinks, saying, "see, I am faster!" And spilled some on our coats.... we quickly asked for our check, in case she disappeared again and we would be stuck there for all eternity, dying of thirst. So the food? Mediocre. Service? Laughably nonexistent - unless you apparently pit the waitstaff against one another. read more

Absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I ordered take out and it took 20 minutes for the waitresses at the bar to acknowledge me after a few times of me saying excuse me I ordered take out. After reviewing my order and checking to make sure my order was correct...all the food was thrown randomly in the same container...example: maple glazed chicken had the rice and broccoli thrown on top of it instead of being placed in the divider sections in the container, I then said excuse me to the waitress and she completely ignored me. I will be calling the manager! I waited for over 45 minutes to receive my take out order that I called in ahead of time and was told to come in 20 minutes. All three waitresses were extremely rude to the customers who ordered take out. Another gentleman sitting next to me had been waiting over an hour and when he complained the waitress simply said you can talk to the manager than and walked away without apologizing. I went here at the request of my teenaged kids and their friend. I suppose this is a good place for younger people on limited budgets. I did not enjoy the seafood at all. The Salmon was dry and flavorless. My son elected to try the Lobster tail. Definitely not a place to begin your forays into lobster. The lobster tail was also dry, flavorless and unappealing. We also waited a good 45 minutes for a table because we had a party of 7, though once seated there were only 3 other tables occupied. Horrible service it was my birthday today and my only day off I was with my three year old so I asked the waitress to hurry with everything because she would not sit still to long I normally don't take her out but it being my birthday I wanted to do something for myself I got the salad and app but after an hour and twenty min waiting on my food in the afternoon was horrible I was so angry I asked for my food boxed up she came with the food boxes and forgot my kids ice cream I walked out very upset in tears paying $53 dollars to eat cold food on my birthday I will never ever go back they don't ever one star read more

Just left here from having lunch with my husband and daughter. I can honestly say I did not enjoy anything I ate. Their ceaser dressing tasted very weird. Almost like a weird lemon flavor. I order ceaser salad everywhere and it's not something I've tasted before. The seafood stuffed mushrooms were very bland and not worth the money we paid for them. I ordered the crab linguine alfredo for my entrée and at first they sent me out a shrimp alfredo on accident so they had to get me a new one. By the time they came with the correct one, my family had almost finished their food. I tried my crab alfredo and it was extremely salty and tasted nothing like alfredo. My husband tried it and agreed it was pretty much inedible. I asked them to take it back. The manager came over and asked if I wanted something else but by that time, everyone was almost done eating so I didn't bother. She said she would take the alfredo off the bill. Obviously I would think she would have. I told her the rest of the food was also not enjoyable but she didn't have much to say about it. Should have stuck with Olive Garden. read more

Seriously I've eaten at Red Lobster 3x in the last 5 years (twice in the last 2 months) and next time I see a fancy commercial or highway billboard like we did yesterday and get an urge I'll be sure to go to a real seafood restaurant vs. this fast food/hybrid version. The food (all 5 things we ordered and 3 things I ordered the last trip to a different location in NY) was blaaaaa and for the second time in a month that is. The veggies are horribly prepared no matter what type you get and overall it's just not good - sorry! This particular trip to this location just north of New Haven was rather eventful for us being ignored completely for over 9 minutes after being seated even though it was 4PM on a slow Monday sunny holiday. We got switched off about 3-4 times by the time it was over. A nice server named Stephanie helped out some and showed concern stepping in a bit but she was quite busy herself. The manager did stop over to apologize (not sure how she even knew as we never said a word really) The new menu with pick-two or pick-three was all crap and my friends lobster pizza was nothing special as well. The food is decent. However, I have had the same unfortunate experience on several occasions at this particular location. It goes like this. I decide I would like to order takeout. I order the same meal each time and it is not a special order. Approximately 30-45 minutes later I drive over to pick up my meal. Consistently my food is not ready when I get there. I am now standing at the counter (literally right now) and waiting for my food. It has been 90 minutes since I ordered my food. 90. Minutes. I am paying $30 for one meal. And it has been 90 minutes since I ordered. I am still standing here. Since I have been standing here one person has expressed their grievances about the wait time for their pick up order and another has simply left without their food. I have seen at least 7 employees, none of which has offered a single word of service. 2 employees sit at a booth engaged in conversation. I know they are employees because they wear a uniform. I have seen one person who appears to be a chef joking and conversing with a few customers and since they are in full view of the bar area I have seen 3-4 people in the kitchen. 2 of those people are obviously managers of some sort but also seem to be above speaking to their customers. This is evidenced by one of them actually coming into the bar area and not speaking to a single patron, doing something at the register, then leaving the bar area. I still have not been helped. I'm tempted to call them on the phone to let them know I am here. They get 2 stars for tasty food. read more

My Lobster Lover's Dream at the North Haven CT restaurant was some good and mostly not good. I am a born and raised New Englander and have a particular fondness for Maine lobster, especially the boiled recipe. The smaller lobster tale was pretty good. It was moist and flavorful, especially when buttered. The tag along broccoli was also tasty. The large lobster tail was terrible. It was dry and crusty, somewhat burnt and very chewy. The lobster alfredo linguine was all alfredo and contained small, tasteless lobster-like chunks All of this wonderment for a menu price just under $33.00. My wife tells me that I have been to other Red Lobster restaurants and I must have had similar reactions because I can't remember having done so. Next time I am hoodwinked by the television ads, I will seek my wife's counsel before my Pavlovian motivation overtakes my otherwise reliable restaurant quality memories. Red Lobster is only for people who don't know what good lobster should taste like. read more
