I go to this restaurant 1 or 2 times a week so I am very familiar with this location. Went for an early dinner (3/16) I ordered Veggie Stir Fry (which I have had before) and it was pretty much inedible. It was swimming in teriyaki sauce, and an inadequate amount of rice. The rice that was provided was "waterlogged" or should I say "teriyaki-logged" and tasted like I was eating sugar.. The veggies probably started out cooked ok but since there was barely any rice, the veggies were sitting in a pool of teriyaki. All in all it was horrible! The waitress (who was new and a little frazzled) only came to the table near the end of the meal and seeing that I did not eat my meal, asked if I wanted to take my dinner home :-( when I told her it was terrible, she acknowledged that it did look like there was "way too much sauce" - and that was about it. The person I was with ordered the Red Olive Club - it was just OK.... very dry - almost no mayo on the bread. She said it was like eating toast with meat on it. When paying the cashier asked how everything was... I responded with "terrible dinner".... she kind of giggled and said "sorry about that". There were 2 waitresses on the floor - both new and I think the cashier was also new, (maybe a new chef?) resulting in overall bad service not just for us but I heard other tables having issues as well. I meet my family at this centralized location for lunch on Sunday afternoon. It was pretty busy when we arrived about 1 pm, but we didn't have to wait long. We sat at a table in the center - it was a crowded area and it was loud due to the amount of people surrounding us. I ordered a hot turkey sandwich meal with lemon rice soup, mashed potatoes and gravy, and the veggie of the day. I did not like the lemon rice soup at all. It was really thick and didn't have much flavor. My sandwich was just alright also. It was a few pieces of thinly cut turkey on one piece of bread. Kinda odd that it wasn't an actual sandwich. The gravy had a unique but funny taste to me - I didn't care for it. The veggie of the day was corn and it definitely wasn't worth eating. You could say I wasn't happy with my meal. Three of my family members ordered the fish and chips and they seemed very pleased. One of the woman in my group used the women's restroom and the paper towel holder was empty. She told one of the waitresses who responded that someone would fill it asap. At least 30 minutes later, when another family member used the restroom it was still empty. That was poor service. My husband and I don't go out to eat very often it's just too expensive but we pick this place. Service was awful we ordered our food. The waitress gave us our bill before getting our food. I ordered fried chicken which was overcooked too much the meat was hard and crunchy. My husband ordered two coney dogs with chili cheese fries. He didn't get chili on his fries but was charged for them. We also waited a long time for our food when the restaurant wasn't busy. I will not going back. NOPE read more

I was visiting my brother and we decided to go have a meal together. He and my nephew, Dusty, had taken me here a couple of years ago when we last visited. We had all enjoyed it! They have so many options on their menu you would be hard-pressed not to find something that you would want to try! Everything from breakfast, to Greek food, to dinners including spaghetti and meat sauce, huge salads with the addition of a protein (or not) that can become your meal. Also a lot of comfort food classics! My nephew always gets breakfast no matter what time of day. Today was no exception. He ordered up three fried eggs, toast, sausage, hashbrowns. He drank a couple of glasses full of milk and topped it all off with a warm Brownie Sundae, which he thoroughly enjoyed! My brother went with the Fish and Chips. He had ordered the fries (chips) extra crispy. They did a great job and the fish came out flaky with a light batter, nice and moist on the inside. The chips or french fries that came with it were crispy but not burnt as per his instruction. He had ordered a double serving of coleslaw. He had advised he's been going through a phase where he just craves the stuff, and even though it's high in sugar since he only eats it rarely he really enjoyed it. He had Lemonade to drink. I chose the Gyro Sandwich plate-which also comes with a small Greek salad. The Gyro meat was cooked nicely and still moist, which I find can be a challenge with this style meat. A generous portion was placed on a warm pita and garnished with Tatziki and tomato. This was a simple classic meal and was excellent! The "small" Greek Salad was medium size by my standards. Didn't stop me from devouring all of it! Fresh lettuce, Feta Cheese, sliced pickled beets, Greek olives and Greek dressing on the side per my request. I also ordered Lemonade to drink. I will say the one thing that didn't impress was the lemonade. Although I don't expect fresh squeeze unless it specifically states that menu, I do expect a high-quality frozen lemonade be used, peope diluted of course. I really don't care for the powdered style lemonades. That was a bit of a disappointment but it certainly didn't spoil the overall meal, and I must say the customer service was excellent too. In this time of pandemic, masks were required to enter the restaurant, they had hand sanitizer available, the staff was wearing masks. Of course we were allowed to remove our masks to eat. They were practicing social distancing so head tables blocked off to ensure that customers were at least 6 feet apart. We all enjoyed our meal and I can't wait to return when we come read more

The grape leaves were not fresh, and the leaves were hard. The dipping sauce was awful. The 'rice pilaf' that came with the meal was white rice with what appeared to be tomato sauce over it. Interesting. And the 'vegetable of the day?' Frozen peas and carrots. Everyone's favorite frozen veggie! My husband didn't care for his meal either. If you are looking for a Coney Island type meal, go to Leo's instead, you'll be much happier! Had two groupons for $15 to this place, so had to come back if I didn't want to waste money... Decided to give breakfast a try. Food was decent, nothing special. When I went to use my groupon, worth $15 of food and drink, they wouldn't let us use it because our bill was $14.73. Ordered carry out last night from red Olive restaurant in Hartland Michigan. The turkey Reuben sandwich that I ordered had one thin layer of meat in it. It was tasty but anemic. (I was still hungry at the end of the meals consumption). My guest ordered a Greek salad, and they forgot to include the pita bread. I ended up having to run out to a supermarket and buy pita bread to serve with her meal so that she had a complete meal in front of her. Frustrating and ridiculous that I had to make two trips, and go to these lengths to make up for these restaurant oversights. We've had a few nice meals at red Olive over the years but lately it seems to have gone downhill. We were disappointed in our dinner from here, and will likely not be back for a while. Authentic gyro. Not the frozen cookie-cutter meat kind, nor the lunch meat kind. Very good. You can tell the gyro meat was shaved off a rotisserie like it should be. Also the slices seam somewhat seared, which add a little crispness to it(to me makes it better). Maybe the best one around? The Brighton Grecian Island comes close to this one. I'm not one to rave about how great a gyro is; I just demand that it be made right like this one. Prices are pretty reasonable. Upgrade to gyro supreme (adds lettuce, feta) for 50 cents.
