This is a true local haunt. The atmosphere is a bit lacking but the food is solid, filling and reasonably priced. The SALADS are HUGE and can last 2 days for meals. They are also delicious. Fenton Coney is worth and takeout or breakfast/lunch. Lots of quality fare to choose from. read more

If you're craving GRITS this is the place! Thick, old fashioned, southern grits. Yummy omelettes and big fluffy pancakes. And for lunch/dinner the CHICKEN COB SALAD. Omg the homemade ranch and pita bread! Comes with blue cheese, 2 deliciously seasoned chicken breast, boiled egg, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and red onions. I usually love this place, but the service today absolutely pissed me off. It was rather un-busy (maybe five tables full), and our original waitress didn't come back over to our table after I asked her to give us a second. There is literally ONE waitress working. All the tables. There were four young waitresses talking behind the counter while we were sitting here waiting to take our order. They were just gossiping and showing each other things on their phones. I look back over, and the girls are braiding each other's hair?? As in, right behind the counter. First of all that's gross when you are handling food, and it's also extremely unprofessional. Please figure your management out. Because it's really annoying watching the waitresses visit while they are working, and haven't even taken our order yet. Which took eternity to place our order. read more

Love the Hawaiian Omelette! This is a giant breakfast that is chocked full of fresh ham and pineapple. It almost doesnt leave room for the texas toast & hashbrowns it came with. Fenton Coney Grill is a nice, hometown diner. Basic diner menu and friendly staff. They have daily specials on several items and you do get a lot of food for the price. The disappointments here were the wait time & cleanliness. They seem to have plenty of wait staff but getting the food out is always quite slow. I came here on a Sunday morning for breakfast and there was no soap in the ladies restroom which means someone failed to check it or clean the night previous and yet again in the morning. I read a few reviews about crummy service, but we had one of the best waitresses we've ever had anywhere today. She was very accommodating, offering crayons for our daughter and a page from a coloring book. That made a really good impression right off the bat. The food was decent. I had a gyro sandwich that was okay, my wife ordered chicken salad but got tuna salad that was okay too. We knew that this place was more for breakfast than lunch, and I'm sure the breakfast is great, but the lunch wasn't terrible but wasn't something we'd be in a hurry to go back for. I try not to leave a review about the taste of food unless I've tried it atleast twice. So, first time I tried it the bacon was super floppy and chewy and the sausage gravy ordered on the side was cold. Not lukewarm, not just warm enough, it was refrigerator cold! I had to nuke it for a minute and a half to get it hot. Same for the bacon, had to nuke it to give it any sort of crisp. So gave it a second shot, tried a different breakfast but had bacon and a side of sausage gravy. Same ..exact...results. They are more expensive than any other breakfast place around here (fact) and they've got the worst food (opinion lol). Go to Leo's, it's not incredible but at least your foods hot. read more

Stopped in on Memorial Day to have lunch with family - first time visit. The place was about 3/4 full and stayed that way for a couple hours. Wait staff were really busy and we had to wait a bit but it was well worth it and not a big deal. Bottom line: Food was very good, prices were reasonable and portions were generous. I have many complaints with this "establishment". At First, I ordered a coney dog take out on a usually not busy time of day, after having to wait in store for an additional 15 mins past my due time, i asked to speak to the manger for some kind of help, He comes over my way with out facemask on and gets 3 ft apart from me, rudely barked a question at my face of "What do i need? , i replied im here for my pickup ive waited here 15 mins, i called in 45 mins ago, He quickly turns to the nearest scape goat and yells at the poor waitress flooded with work as she trys her best to keep up with this disgusting understaffed diner. After the "manger" blamed/ screamed at all the poor woman working so hard for him. He finally found my bag in the back , were the real issue was, with the 4 Under age " Cooks" messing around & playing on the clock, . After i got my food and finally got out, my order was disgusting looking , just dogfood and mustard on a kogol. Management here is as helpful as a toddler in a kitchen and the food is everything you can reheat from Walmart. so if you are looking for somewhere that is covid 19 safe, they care about the food and service save your self & family from this joke of a restaurant. read more

And their prime rib dinner offered as a special some days, is the best ever! Sometimes the spaghetti and meatballs are good - sometimes not. The waitresses are all very good and friendly. Went here for a midday bite to eat with friends and was pleasantly surprised. The food is so inexpensive! And so good! Bonus points for serving breakfast all day. I had the Mama's Special and it was so much food (2 pieces of French toast, 2 eggs, and 2 sausage links). One of my friends was sharing his fries with the table and they were very tasty. I don't recommend this place. We ordered nachos and potato skins and were very disappointed. The skins had only cheese. No onions. No sour cream. Just cheese. As for the nachos... No beans and no nacho cheese. The cheese was mozzarella and it hardened before it made it to my table. Who doesn't use nacho cheese?? It reminded me of nachos a kid would make. Awful. Waste of money. We were heading home from a hockey game and thought we would give it a try since it was a 4 1/2 star. The waitstaff was great, and the place was pretty clean. My husband and I shared both the turkey rueben and cornbeef rueben, the turkey rueben was awful, the turkey was processed and the coleslaw watery with no flavor. Been here several times now before deciding to let out a yelp. Unless a place blows my mind on the first visit I like to go back a few times before saying what I think about them, ya know? The Fenton Coney Grill is a 3 out of 5 for me. Its the little things that hold them back from being a 4 or 5. Let me explain. First off look through the posts and you will see several comments about their drinks. My wife told me last time we were there that her soda tasted like well water as soon as we sat down. It did. Do Fenton restaurants run off a community well or something? If not then FCG needs a major filter or something, it is bad. Another little thing is the greasiness of the fried food. You know how some places the deep fried food is really greasy and some other places it much less greasy? Well this food is greasy! The fries and onion rings are soooo greasy you feel unhealthy after eating them. That's the only way I know how to describe it. The reason its still a 3 is because of the good stuff of course. They have flint dogs! I don't have to go to flint to get a coney dressed the way I like it! The service is awesome. The girls are fast and friendly and not fake!
