I've had red ribbon in the past, but I've never been to their bakeshop. I tried the pancit palabok, chicken empanada, cheese ensymada and a slice of black forest cake. The palabok was just ok. I didn't expect it to be the best I've had, but I guess it can satisfy a craving in a pinch. Although, I don't think I can crave that pancit palabok.. lol. The chicken empanada was actually pretty good and on the sweeter side like typical filipino empanadas. The cheese ensymada was just ok, I've had much better. The black forest cake was surprisingly good. Not overly sweet and the cake was light and fluffy. I'd recommend the black forest cake and the chicken empanada. This business is incorrectly labeled as Jollibee. It is Red Ribbon. GUYS! Here I was just stopping by UPS and as I was parking I look up and see Red Ribbon. WHAT?! I was SO excited- the Filipino community has been waiting for this for years and it has finally come. You already know I went to the grand opening. It has become a problem that we now live within five minutes from Red Ribbon. I'm talking, the first week we went to Red Ribbon like three times. We always go for the Mango Cake. The mangos on top always taste so fresh and sweet. The whipped frosting is light and quite literally the only whipped frosting I've ever liked. We also love the Ube Cake too (not the roll, I'm not big on the coconut). I always get the beef empanadas and my sister loves the chicken. We also love the Palabok too!! And of course, you can't go to Red Ribbon without halo halo which they top with amazing leche flan and the (marshmallow flavored?) ice cream on top. Their new ube ensymada is so tasty too! My family loves their mamon but it isn't my favorite. The grand opening was very organized. Since then, while the lines are no longer out the door they do have a steady stream of people throughout the day. I prefer to go closer to the evening but beware they do sell out. The shop is really on the smaller side and more for pickup than to dine-in. Another note, be sure to check expiration dates. Also, despite order online options advertised on website, they don't allow phone call or online orders. I believe all of these hiccups will be solved after having been open longer! I ordered a cake online for delivery on Christmas Eve. A few hours before my scheduled delivery, the order was cancelled. I kept trying to call the store to see if I could do pick up or purchase something else but no one picked up all day even though the store was listed as being open. I had to scramble to find another cake on Christmas Eve. Their food is pretty good (especially their savory empanada and cakes) but as many of the reviews have stated, the service is lacking and the food is just not worth the headache. read more

I'm Filipino so I was happy when I found out this place was opening up around our area and we didn't have to travel so far north side of Chicago. And it didn't disappoint the food was good, we got the empanada, halo-halo, palabok, and the ube mamon. We also love getting the mango cake from here as well when we have upcoming events. Today we drove from Streamwood to Bolingbrook for Red Ribbon Bakeshop. We grew up enjoying their cakes and pastries. We ordered to go, chicken empanadas a slice of custard Ube cake and a slice of mango supreme cake (they sold out of the Ube and mango roll). On our drive home we ate the chicken empanadas. It was hot and was soooo good. Yes, it is worth the drive. However, when we ate the mango cake we were very disappointed. The fresh mango topping tasted like fish! So disgusting OMG did the staff forgot to wash their knife or the chopping board with soap before cutting/chopping the mangoes that goes on top of the cake! I guest we will be ordering our Christmas dessert at the Elston branch. The service staff was pleasant and the shop was clean. read more

I'm giving them 5 star just because I want to support them although I live in Rockford, I have families in Naperville. We tried their palabok today and it was good. Although they were out of chix empanada that we were combo it with. I also bought here Mango supreme cake for my hubby. We have not yet tried it. As I said, if you don't support your local Filipino restaurant then you can drive over an hours to Niles. You guys should be thankful instead of whining about every little thing. read more

Your cake can not be compared to any expensive cake. Very proud to say this is a Filipino Cake. Not too sweet , so good and always moist and right size. Everything in Red Ribbon is so good. Thank you for also opening in Bolingbrook we don't have to drive to Chicago. read more

Second time coming here and I'm pleasantly surprised again! First time I came was with my sister we each tried Yema cake and Mango cake LOVED it. Came a second time to try the pastries and got the 10 for $20 deal (good deal you save a few bucks) cashier was nice enough to recommended the Ube mamon and cant believe I've gone this long without ube in my life.
