The location is great, easy trail access, and (somewhat) reasonably priced. We often leave on a Friday afternoon to get a night ride in. What is somewhat annoying is the temperature of the cabin is in the 50s (in the winter months) when you arrive. Meaning, we have to wait for the temp to rise before going for a ride as it's like changing in a walk-in cooler. Not the best way to start a ride on a cold winter's night. Though the other 5 cabins had a picnic table and fire ring, Cabin 1 had a picnic table buried in snow, and no fire ring (though perhaps it was also buried). We had planned on using both, so this was disappointing. It would also be nice if you didn't risk your neck having to navigate the narrow, icy path to the restrooms/showers. Lastly, each cabin should really have a comprehensive trail map on the wall. They would get so much use. Overall, it's a fun place, but could certainly use a tune-up.

Some things weren't operational in the game room which disappointed the kids, but these are serviced by third parties and aren't always able to be fixed right away. However, the campgrounds were incredibly well-kept and the kids had a ton of fun as did the adults. We were able to do smores, enjoy the water and not be forced to be too close to our neighbors. We ended our night playing yard games outside and making s'mores around a fire. It was a great time! Larson's Barn has a beautiful dance floor that we used for our first dance. Kathy is very easy to work with, even when we got there late to set-up the day before. There was a frost warning the day before the wedding and Kathy was sure to cover all of the flower beds. The next day although jack frost had come through all of the plants and flowers looked great. Since our entire group was from out of the area we also rented the small cabin and the under the barn apartment for the weekend. It was great for all of the bridesmaids and groomsman to be onsite, less stressful for everyone. We even had a hairstylist come out to the barn to do the girls hair. Everything was very convenient for being in the country of MN.

We just spent 4 days here. We rented a pontoon for the day for $120 plus gas. We stayed in cabin #4. It had air conditioning, stove, refrigerator with a freezer, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. Everything is in good working condition and clean! It is not a 4 star hotel but we were not expecting that. Each cabin has a gas grill and fire pit. You can buy firewood, ice and bait. The resort is on Lake Wabedo, which is a good sized lake. We saw eagles, deer and loons. We loved hearing the loons call each other . Maggie and Jerry were excellent hosts and take very good care of you.

They don't allow you to use the bath house unless your staying in a tent. We asked the man owner to rent a boat and he said no there all rented out. So we ask the lady to rent one and she says yes and to not ask her husband question early in the morning. I travel for work and have been for 3 years and this is the worst campground I have stayed at.

As far as campsites go I thought Crosslake was pretty good. They have a beach with a swimming area,…read moresites both with and without electricity, stalled bathrooms with showers, evening activities and enforced quiet hours. They ask that you purchase their "certified" firewood for $6 a bundle and the woodshed is only open from 6pm-8pm so make sure you get there before they close and buy enough to last. The sites that are on the edge of camp are really tough to sleep at because they are right next to the main road so all night you hear cars speeding by. But it was a fairly quiet campground during the day and even with neighbors you have privacy and peace. I also wish there was an area with softer ground for tents. It was very difficult to pitch in the gravel because they stakes didn't want to go in and there were lots of sharp rocks trying to poke up through the bottom of the tent. Everything in town is within walking distance and there are trails everywhere. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. I was surprised by how few mosquitoes there were and wonder if the campground sprays for them. I really think my son would have a good time here so I want to bring him and update my review based on his experience too. But I would come back because we had a good time!
