It was about a 20 min walk (or 2 minute drive) from our cottage and free to get on to, which is unheard of in Jersey! You do have to pay for parking ($30 on weekends and $20 on weekdays) so that, plus the walk being the only form of exercise we all got for 7 days straight, was all the motivation we needed for skipping the car. The water was nearly dead still all week, no garbage anywhere and lifeguards were on duty most of the time. They made sure to clear the water when any sign of a storm was coming in and left us alone the rest of the time. One of my friends was terrified of sharks so she was a beach bum the whole time while me and my other friend would hang out in the water at least half the day. Sure, it was cold, but it was also SO hot on the sand, so super cold water was welcomed. I loved loved loved how not crowded this beach was. Again, coming from Jersey beaches, it's unheard of!! But we had so much room from other people and never felt like we were too close. A great place for a beach day (or week)!

He had invited friends and family down, we had discussed it and felt safe and comfortable with going. I rarely go to the beach, my fair skin, even with all the sunblock, ends up burning. However I try to go at least once a year for a swim, be it the ocean or a lake. The water, super refreshing on a hot summer day! Being about 60-something degrees, it was a shock at first, but then easily adapted to the temperature. The water was opaque from the seaweed being agitated, it was nice how deep the water got. However, 'Jaws' scared the crap out of me as a kid so I felt a little uneasy since it is not a harbor or bay, but just jutting along the open ocean on the outside portion of the Cape. So being in water where the seafloor drops off, in opaque water, made me a little anxious. The only good thing is knowing there are no seals nearby (sharks are attracted to areas with them, and attacks happen in less then 3 feet of water). Oh did I mention a tip is to not swim in murky water? Anyways, now that I have you paranoid about swimming here, the beach is beautiful and plenty of open space, and life gaurds are present.

It's only 30 minute parking, but honestly, how much time do you need? It was very beautiful, but man what a walk up and down to the beach. There are portapottys, and they are not clean. Overall, it's a must do, but not a lot to do there.

Perched on a bluff overlooking the water, it's a great spot for pictures and great scenery. This old light house was established 1808, had a deep maritime history. The lighthouse is still active and maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard. Though it's only open to the public one day a week--Wednesdays from 1:00 to 3:30 PM--the trip is worth planning for. Theres a short presentation about the lighthouse's history and even take a tour up into the tower. A word of caution: the steps are narrow and steep, and the final ascent into the lamp room involves climbing a near-vertical 90-degree ladder. If you're in search of a nice Cape Cod experience, Chatham Lighthouse is worth the visit.

We came @730 and that was a smart choice because by 830 I am pretty sure the lot was completely full. This beach gets *packed* and felt more congested than corporation even during both their peak busy times. Low tide is very cool, it's a pretty far walk out to water though but the tide pools and sandbars were fun. The water comes in quickly and then there's pretty much no "sand" space at all. Bathroom, snack bar and foot wash stations are always a plus. I was disappointed not to find any hermit crabs here though? I found one the entire time but corporation has a ton of little creatures to find. The waves were a little rougher than I would have liked. All in all, still fantastic! But the lack of hermit crabs and "space" leaves me loving this beach just slightly less than corporation.

You also have to stay for sunset because it is absolutely beautiful!! The sand is super white & soft, minimal rocks, very clean, & bathrooms are tidy. Great beach to go with family and friends! Parking was $30 last summer, not sure if it will go up for this summer. It's also not too far down in the Cape, which is great for if you're playing to do a day trip to the beach.

Some moron was fishing and claimed he was there first and said I should have seen him and avoided anywhere near. He shouted obscenities at me and I responded. He proceeded to go back to his truck, a white pickup, and then decided to vandalize my car. Knowing I was about a 1/2 mile from shore he didn't even have the guts to face me and through iced coffee in my car making a sticky mess. Watch out for fishermen driving white pickup!

Getting to the water is a bit of a walk, but at the same time, great exercise. The view is decent for the most part, I wouldn't consider anything too exciting, except the view out to the west looking towards Point Gammon Lighthouse, which didn't look visible due to the weather. Across the water, you'll see Thacher Town Park Beach, which can't be crossed. One of the entrances has a mini fence on the ground, warning about sandpipers. Be careful while stepping over. There's no doubt I'll make this stop again.

Microwave, Mini Frig, T.V with Cable. Small coffee pot set up. A desk, table 2 chairs. Hangers and luggage rack. There is a great Pool which is a big perk. Unfortunately, this year was to cold to swim. We had swam last year and it was great! There is a Supermarket across the street and the beach not far at all. The motel provides an informative binder. The town center is actually within walking distance for most people about 1/4 to 1/2 miles away. Becareful though, the road in front of the property, at the traffic lights gets very busy. We witnessed a bad car accident while waiting to cross the street, the 1st year. A Continental Breakfast with delicious homemade muffins is served every morning. To be totally transparent and give a 100% honest review these next things were a few minor issues that only happened our last visit. The water pressure in the shower was very slow. No shower liner, (not the problem) the fabric curtian got soaking wet and wet the whole floor, causing a slipping hazzard. The soap and shampoo/conditioners weren't filled. We were supposed to be given a second key that was never dropped off. Had the T.V. shut off at about 10pm while we were watching, out of nowhere. I called the office to let the staff know and got a NOT my problem response, that I wasn't excepting. This year we had tried to book 2 days again, but only one was available. We decide to take the 1 night and pay more then we would have elsewhere. No sure about next year.
