I asked if I can get something else then and he said "not for free" as if I was trying to pull one over on him. He said it was "policy" because I already "took a sip" (just a sip mind, it's not like I drank half the thing). Basically acted like it was my fault even though I had asked before ordering and got a misleading answer, then refused to make any moves to correct it, then accused ME of being rude. He wouldn't give me his name, but this is the guy with the long triangle-shaped beard working on 08/29/26 afternoon. Plus the milk wasn't even foamed properly. I've never had this happen before, I'm not a confrontational person and would not have even requested a replacement if I hadn't specifically asked what the drink was up front. I was left with no drink and a terrible mood, exactly the opposite of what I look for in a cafe.

What an experience!!! This may be my new favorite coffee shop to work from in South Bay! The entire shop is so festive! There's a small area where you can purchase different gifts and cards, including super cute 3-D pop-up cards. There was holiday music playing softly in the background, and plenty of people were hanging out and getting work done. They have so many food options too... I tried the gingerbread chai, and it was amazing! There was plenty of staff, and service was really quick! I'll go back another day and try some of their actual food as well. Ps. There's plenty of parking, including accessible parking as well.

Fairly quiet spot and just the usual buzz of folks taking calls or having chit chat with coffee. It's right inside the Shashi Hotel and has a clean minimalist feel. There's indoor seating (about 3-4 tables) within the cafe but most folks just found a spot within the hotel dining area with more booths and long tables for coworking, and tables by the fireside, or outside by the pool. It's pretty comfortable spot to work in though some of the floor charging ports were often a trip hazard! SERVICE You order at the counter...(and can't say the folks taking the order didn't seem particularly enthusiastic working there but otherwise we got what we ordered and all substitution requests were honored), take a numbered placard, and sit down wherever you want. We dined in but you can obviously get to-go. In 10-15 minutes or so, the staff bring your food out to the table, which is pretty efficient and keeps things casual. Food was prepared quickly, arrived hot and well-presented, and they bring you silverware -- which is ideal if you're trying to grab breakfast before meetings or a flight! The overall atmosphere is calm and polished "urban resort lobby café" than crowded street coffee shop, which fits well if you're staying at the hotel or meeting colleagues nearby. FOOD The breakfast menu leans toward elevated kind of price-y but limited. There's only 4 main breakfast items (if you're not a pastry person in the morning). As an aside, the pastries in the case also didn't look super fresh. While limited in menu, everything we tried tasted fresh and was pretty solid -- a bit pricey but hey for the speed and fresh, healthy feel it was fine. The avocado toast came on hearty sourdough with scrambled eggs and bright toppings (loved the edamame in the salad), making it feel more like a full meal. The pork sausage breakfast bowl was solid too with scrambled eggs, potatoes, spinach, cheddar, avocado, salsa, and a touch of habanero heat that made it comforting but still interesting. The fruit and yogurt bowl balanced things out nicely with Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, granola, and honey, so you can go lighter if you don't want something heavy first thing in the morning! Each piece of herbed formage blanc flatbread had a nice, crunchy bottom (but not blackened) and a slightly tanginess, with a a good amount of "hen-of-the-wood" mushrooms, sweet roasted garlic and a bed of arugula. My, oh, my! My first bite was a multi-level extravaganza! The crunch of the bread, followed by the aroma of the herbs and arugula, then the saltiness of the cheese, the sweetness of the roasted garlic, the earthiness of the mushrooms - all came together as just a wonderful work of culinary art! This being my first time eating today, my saliva glands just fired off at first bite, causing a bit of intense pain from too much saliva shooting out. If I were to actually guess.. it would've been around 2010..) I went up to that booth.. a little curious on their selection of various coffee beans.. Talking to the barista, I vividly remember talking to him about coffee and ended up ordering a Guademalan pour over. Known for its dark chocolatey notes, He suggested that I made sure to try it as it was after he was finished. Specifically told me to try it before adding any sugar or cream to it. Coming from crappy coffee that you had to add sugar and cream to to make it palatteable, I took my very first sip of that Guatamalan straight black and instantly had my mind blown. I got it immediately... That was the day I understood that there was coffee out there in the world that didn't need anything and could be enjoyed as is.. Out of curiosity, a friend ended up adding sugar to their drink, and ya... it ended up making it taste worse.. Fast forward to the other day when I came back to ZombieRunner for the first time post shoes going away.. While I will remember ZombieRunner for its former selection of athletic shoes and equipment, I am so grateful that their coffee continues on. I ordered their Zombie Proof coffee and while there were certainly other things added to the drink, the flavor of the India Mysore beans that they use primarily in the store shines thru. Clean, smooth, with hints of natural sweetness that made me remember of those times. ZombieRunner knows coffee.. and I thank them for opening up a new world for me.

No seating inside but there were about 5 or 6 tables and a number of chairs outside, half in, half out of the shade. Peaceful for a Wednesday morning except three people talking shop at each other instead of with each other. Oh well. Service was quick and friendly. Pour cold brew and shake or mix, pour into a cup to go, and add a lid. It's nice having someone make a special flavored coffee for you than making your own coffee everyday.

What was super interesting was that they had some baked goods that they actually bake in house! I got the banana walnut loaf slice and it was really good: good amount of walnuts, not too sweet, not too dense. They also had a bunch of other types of loaf slices and they had some specialty croissants like mango/strawberry/cinnamon roll. I asked the barista/lady at the counter and she said they get the croissants from another bakery and then "finish" them in house by adding the filling/frosting. Pretty cool! I also got a cappuccino and it was basically a Starbucks cappuccino. Not terrible, but not amazing. Would have liked to see a more specialty-style of coffee beans being used. Google Maps takes you to the right place, you merge right into the complex from the roundabout and then there is a parking garage on your right. The parking seems a bit limited, but for a weekday it was easy to find an open visitor parking spot which they marked as being a 2 hour parking limit. I'd come back here if I hardcore wanted to get some stuff done. Other than that it's kind of a boring/isolated area since there isn't much else you can walk around to and explore.
