Worst biscuits and gravy I ever had. We went in during breakfast and it had a little rush but nothing crazy. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait and that was the only part that was right during this meal. Once we were seated our waitress didn't greet us or take our drink order . At about 30 minutes of just sitting there I got the host/owner? to grab our drinks. It took another 20 minutes for our waitress to come over to the table for the order and when she finally made it to the table she didn't apologize she was very unprofessional. We contemplated just leaving but due to our flight being soon we decided to order. I order biscuits and gravy with a side of fruit. As I waited for that I unwrapped my utensils and my fork had someone else's old peanut butter all over the fork. She came back and I told her I needed new silverware and showed her. She didn't apologize or anything just grabbed it and walked, came back and dropped a new set off without saying a word. Once the food came I was sort of in the mindset of if we just eat and it's decent then I'll be somewhat pleased. The biscuits we hard and tasted like they came from a can. The gravy was ok but again tasted like it was made quick and cheap. Then the weirdest thing to me was some of my "fresh" fruit had whip cream on it. That just made me think of the worst case scenario. :/ As we checked out the host/owner? asked me how the food was. I was respectful but honest and told her all of the above. She did comp some of our bill and told us that they had some people quit overnight but still that's not something I believe I should have paid for. The place is super cute! However, service was not so great. The place wasn't even that full and we probably spent 3 hours there trying to order food, waiting on food, waiting on refills. Took the family in Sunday for Lunch / Brunch. Upon entering the staff was extremely friendly and spoke to each of us individually, complimenting the kids on their neat appearance, (Not always true, but we had just come from Church.) They seem to do a steady amount of business and there was a short wait. Kids / Adults were given a lunch box with crayons and a deck of Go Fish cards to entertain us all while we were waiting for food. They collect the drawings from the tables and tack them up at the front of the restaurant to display previous patrons art work. Food was very good and we will likely return. read more

Even though we waited a long time, I would certainly go back. Everything seems to be homemade. The fresh fruit was fresh. I'm pretty sure the Lady in charge there was the owner. I can tell this because I own my own business. She can handle a lot at once. I would like to see her get some more people, train them and then she can just point and grunt. I am so glad I visited The Breakfast Table on my first day in Destin, because I've come back here every morning since. The food is amazing and well-portioned. The drinks are cheap ($5 for a mimosa?!) and the place is very clean. The best part of it all is the very sweet hands-on owner, Bridget, who can be seen taking drink orders and cleaning off tables in between greeting customers. It is on the smaller side and I could see how this place could easily get packed. The French toast is delicious and they give you three big pieces which are sprinkled with a cinnamon and powdered sugar mix. The fruit that was served with it was a little disappointing. It was almost like they cut up a bunch of straberries that were going bad a few days ago and then just scooped the fruit onto the plate. At first glance I thought there was some sort of glaze on it, but there wasn't. I also felt like it took a really long time for our food to come out to the table. It was busy with spring breakers in town, but we are locals, so were a little disappointed. Obviously that's not the restaurant's fault! I ordered an omelet and took one bite - because it was SO saturated with salt that was all I could taste. The fruit was mushy and clearly just a pre-bought mix (maybe frozen?). My husband thought his eggs Benedict were decent. The service was great, everyone was very friendly. I'd be willing to go back and try something like pancakes, that don't require any salting! In their defense they had a large table of 10 but it took awhile to get our food. I asked for mine to be reheated. There was no problem doing that and it was very good. Rest of family said same about food if it was served as soon as it was done would have been amazing. It looked wonderful and the atmosphere was very good for a breakfast place.
