Been seeing this place on my DoorDash but didn't want to have it delivered from pretty far away. It's a local creole spot that has a pretty good selection. The gumbo was good, the red beans and rice were pretty good, my eggs were okay, I'll try something different next time, my son loved his burger though and overall pretty satisfied with my experience. It's pretty much serve yourself, but the person behind the register had a great attitude and as you can see from the pics it is a lively little spot. read more

The food at Café Bienville had great flavor -- no complaints there! Unfortunately, the portion size didn't quite match the price, which left us a little disappointed. The picture attached is a full size breakfast bowl with no bites taken yet. Also was charged for a full side of bacon and received less than one strip in the bowl. Order at the counter, there's a small room beyond the main dining area with foldable tables. You order at the counter and pick up your food on the other side of the counter. Does appear some parties of two share the tables in the front as well as the tables in the back too. No longer have the duck sandwich that I saw pics of from here that brought me here at all. :( We ordered a rosemary chicken sandwich, Elvis or peanut butter banana latte with oat milk latte, sensation soup and a bowl of 3 sister soup, all to split. $28.45 The rosemary chicken sandwich is good, the baguette bun was toasted and a bit too hard for my liking, but the rosemary chicken was still tasty. Salad was okay, some old dark baby green leaves that didn't look so fresh, but the dressing was fresh and citrusy and good. The Elvis latte is pretty good, it tastes decent, but the coffee for the mug size is quite weak, tastes like it's about 2 shots or so. The 3 sister soup is also pretty good, seemed more hearty with the cubed potatoes, otherwise would feel like watered down soup with some veggies mostly. Beware: ice from the fountain drink machine had dark mold. Cashier took it from my hands quickly when I pointed it out and tried to replace it with ice from the bar that she assured me was "different ice" and would be okay. She didn't take any immediate action to address the moldy ice machine, didn't inform the other customers, and didn't seem to tell the other staff either, but who knows... The beignets were disappointing: fried too hot with a dark exterior and a dense, gooey center. And the bacon (at nearly $2 per slice!) was served unevenly cooked and covered in dark, dirty bacon grease. I seriously question the food safety standards at this restaurant. read more

Nice cozy local restaurant, colorful art on the walls, clean tables and bathrooms. We had the Breakfast Bowl it was ok but served on cold plates. Great coffee, self serve three flavors. We had beignets which were very good, unfortunately, one had a nice long hair in dough. They provided a new order which we took home...but on second thought didn't eat. Noticed kitchen staff with long hair and beard, but no hair net...hmmm. Maybe that's how the hair ends up in the dough. read more

The cost is more high than a normal breakfast but for the out of this world quality and large portions. It was better than expected and more. Yes! A little creole flavor in the small town of Niceville. They serve all your New Orleans classics like rice and beans, muffulettas, gumbo, etc. There's also serve items with some Latin influence. I ordered the Caribbean stuffed sweet potato: baked sweet potato, stuffed with seasoned pulled pork and black beans. It was so good; it only lasted a few seconds on my plate. Prices are good almost everything is less than $10. The beignets are fantastic - a must have. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. They're also open for breakfast and they serve some awesome coffee. The Cuban Sandwich comes with an authentic Cuban taste and with a side of black beans that could be subbed out for red beans. Really like the sandwich and it's very filling with a fair price. Good service, nice atmosphere. I had the muffuletta, it was very good. My BF had the bacon cheese burger . He said it was just "ok". The sandwich's didn't come with sides, so we ordered home potatoes . Just because you put lots of Cajun seasonings on them does NOT make them Cajun. The food was expensive, the price of food right now is crazy, so that kinda makes sense, but I'm not sure for us personally it was good enough to warrant another visit. The menu is diverse, with a lot of Cajun / New Orleans-style food. AND...they serve breakfast all day! I had the Cuban sandwich, which was delicious! A perfect experience finding a hidden gem located on a busy road with easy access and plenty of parking g on the side. A New Orleans-ish bayou themed restaurant. Not a single dish is bad. The hamburgers are fresh huge half pound and worth every penny. The pork is slow cooked for I think they said 16 hours. So flavorful. I added a side of red beans and rice yummy good. Breakfast is served all day long. Large bowls are used for the breakfast dishes all made from scratch you can't go wrong. Make sure to order the beignets you won't go home sad.
