The Fiesta Lime Chicken is my favorite menu item, and it is normally excellent. Unfortunately, on that visit, both chicken entrees were extremely dry and hard. They were so overcooked that I couldn't eat my dinner at all. The only part of the meal I was able to eat was the appetizer. Although I don't like complaining, I felt I needed to call the restaurant because I had paid for a meal that was inedible. The manager I spoke with was very kind and apologized for the experience. She told me that the next time I ordered, I would receive a credit, which I appreciated. Tonight, about two months later, I called the restaurant to redeem that credit and place another order. I also mentioned that I hoped the meal would be prepared correctly this time, given what had happened previously. The manager told me she would get someone on the line to take my order, but instead I was placed on hold for over 10 minutes without anyone assisting me. This second experience was just as disappointing as the first. While I understand that restaurants can be busy, I feel that, given the circumstances and the promise that had been made to resolve my previous issue, my call should have been handled with greater care.

This was less than $15 for a sandwich with generous meat portions AND TWO SIDES! Incredible. The ribs were $28 for a rack plus two sides, which is more than fair. The food was AMAZING, yet the service was even better. We had the privilege of talking with the owner, who let us know today is their last day at the Walnut St address. They do plan to open down the street at the carwash sometime soon. Lots of customers seem to be frequent visitors and the owner even offered to do delivery to elderly customers who walk over to the restaurant. The employees clearly love working here and we can see why!! I am not joking when I say we will drive over an hour just to eat this BBQ again. My recent visit to Red Run Grill on Buchanan Trail in Waynesboro, PA, left me with mixed feelings. While there were aspects I enjoyed, there were also significant shortcomings that impacted my overall experience. Let's start with the positives. The pit beef, while not exceptional, was decently prepared and flavorful. The sides of beans and mac and cheese were the meal's highlights, with outstanding taste and texture, although they lacked the smokiness that one would typically expect from a smoked meat restaurant. Unfortunately, the positives were overshadowed by several negatives. The customer service left much to be desired. Despite reviewing my selection multiple times when ordering, my order still needed to be corrected when I reached the cashier. This lack of attention to detail could have been better and impacted my overall satisfaction. Furthermore, the packaging of the food could have been better. All items were jammed into a thin paper bag that tore when I was handed it from the window, resulting in a messy and inconvenient situation. Additionally, the pricing could have been more precise. I ordered a combo but was charged a price different from what was advertised on the menu, which increased my dissatisfaction. While Red Run Grill has some redeeming qualities, such as decent pit beef and exceptional sides, the below-average customer service, inadequate packaging, and confusing pricing detracted from the overall experience. With these factors in mind, I can only give Red Run Grill a three-star rating, and I'm still deciding whether I will return. read more
