BLUF: good food and friendly, prompt service. Large group of us went on a Friday night. The place was pretty full. For appetizers we got the loaded nachos, which are really good and made with a lighter, flakier tortilla chip than most are used to. The menu is a lot slimmer than many restaurants, but there is something there for most everyone. I had a Salmon Strawberry salad, which I highly recommend and which all who tried it recommend. It's big, so be ready for it. As a side I got risotto, which didn't taste bad, but was more like cheesy rice, not risotto. If you've had good risotto you know what I mean. The burgers were very popular, and the mango bourbon pork chop was very tasty. Crab cake sandwich was okay, but like all too many crab cakes I've had in the past, heavy on bread and light on good size crab chunks. They serve their drinks in plastic disposable cups, which is one thing I hate in any restaurant that is above Chipotle or similar level. The cups spill more easily, and frankly it's just not as pleasant a drinking experience. Probably doesn't bother others as much as it does me, but so be it. When being seated I address the girl about having celiac disease and needing gluten free. They told me they provided a gluten free roll for their burgers and sandwiches and to ask if it's gluten free if I had another option I'd like to try. So I did I asked them about their mango bourbon pork chop. They told me it was gluten free and they could do a side of gluten free flat fries. It was all so good. So good and best food I've had since celiac I was very skeptical if it was truly gluten free. We left around 9pm and I was still feeling fine. Around 1 am it hit I woke up in the middle of the night projectile puking and could not stop till it was all out. This was very crucial as I'm also pregnant and it could have harmed baby. So far as this morning I'm feeling fine and baby moving around. But I was really hoping I wouldn't get sick because I would have enjoyed going back but having a reaction first visit knocks it off my places to eat. I would recommend for anyone who doesn't have celiac disease or gluten intolerance though because it was amazing food. read more

I havent been here in years and I'll tell you why. The first time I went the place was packed and I simply ordered some pasta which was subpar. I dont know how someone manages to make bad pasta but the sauce was awful. I didnt even take left overs. The waitress was rude and short. Then I tried it again with a group of people. We all ordered the special which was a cheese steak. It took them over an hour to make any of our food. It was awful. Then the food was dismal at best. I'll never return read more

I'm giving a 5 star based on the outdoor bar! My bf and I really enjoy going out for a drink or two with good ambiance. Complication in Hagerstown is the lack of nice outdoor spots. Look no further! We went a good number of times this last summer and the outdoor bar and dining space is like a little summer oasis in the sun! The Bird Bath (orange crush with a nutrl floater) was my KRYPTONITE all summer. When I'm getting a lil nostalgic about cool breezes and beaches, bird baths come to mind! We will absolutely be stopping in for a meal and I'll happily update. This place is very popular and I can see why. The service is good and so is the food. The place has a rustic feel to it. They were able to accommodate our large party of over 20 people. If you go when a foot ball game is on you can watch it from your table while eating lunch / dinner. I had the fried shrimp basket with fries which was yummy. The food was delicious. We went around 8:15pm and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive the entire time. They encouraged us to take our time when ordering. We got the muscles as an appetizer they were in a wonderful white wine garlic sauce. I got the linguine Miranda which was wonderful and had a bit of a kick but everything was well prepared. The portions were great I took half my food home. I also got a hibiscus bourbon drink. I didn't love that but the rest was great. read more

Sat outside - beautiful night . The service was superb. Everyone we encountered was very nice and friendly. My chicken club was outstanding- the avo aioli was spot on, chicken very tender. The fries - superb!!!! I also had a few rum runners that were spot on. Ambiance - great weather, great music!!! My husband had an on point burger. Runny egg, great burger with avo and very crisp bacon. The house chips were very crispy and tasty. On tap beer really great! Our server Kayla was very attentive and friendly! Eh, don't know why this place has such high reviews. Server was nice, but took us an hour to get our food with no explanation! We ordered the crab cake, the Mexicali salad, masa cakes with rockfish and the butcher's cut steak. Everything was meh. The butcher's cut steak was a thin cut and not done medium as specified, the masa cakes and rockfish were dry and uninspiring, the Mexicali salad had a piece of dry, well-done steak on top and included about half of the lettuce core on the salad, and the crab cakes were probably the best item, just on the small side. Pretty disappointing to say the least. Will not return if I'm ever in the area. read more

After a day of fighting crowds at Whitetail with our family, we wanted real food. It was midday and even the lines at the food court on the mountain were ridiculous so we searched for good pub food along the way back to Frederick. This place exceeded our expectation's. I had called to verify they had room for the six of us, and they reserved a table for us (that was a nice touch). I didn't get our waitresses name but she was attentive without being pushy from start to finish. Our drinks were never empty and her check in timing was perfect. We all ordered burger variations, so I can't speak to the rest of the menu but I had the Foster Burger, which had bacon, avocado and a sunny side up egg on the patty. Too messy to eat without a knife and fork, but super yummy! All of the adults had the house-made potato chips and there were no scraps left on any plates! The kids had chicken tenders and grilled cheese. I sampled the French fries and they had a salt and herb crust, so yummy! There were a few other tables being served, but although the walls were exposed, lovely stone, the sound was not overwhelming. I didn't get to see the bill, but the prices looked reasonable, under $20 per person. I'd love to come back to try some of the entrees. read more

Nothing states the FRIES are COATED.. as they are a $2 up charge over the potato chips ( stated as shore fries) which I was thinking Atlantic City. Basically wasted money on something we didn't eat. My wife and I were in town visiting from Toronto, Canada and happened upon Foster's on the Point. I had read that their crab cakes were something special and sadly they weren't, They were FANTASTIC! I ordered a local beer from Antietam Brewery and asked the waitress were I could buy some. She wasn't sure so she asked the owner of the restaurant. Before we know it he came over to our table and we had a very nice conversation and he explained how they were celebrating their fifth year in business. He gave me several places to purchase this beer. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual and the staff were extremely friendly. Me and my gf got 2 waters and 2 drinks to start, she got some kind of mule and I got something like a blue crush I believe they was both decent. My gf did not really like her salad she wasn't really a fan of it.. but whenever the main dish came out it was absolutely amazing the food tasted so good, personally it was my 2nd time here!! We both loved our food!! I got fries with mine which they came out like 5 mins later but it was cool! Service was decent got there around 4pm was busy with other people of course but we didn't order into like 4:30 or so and another like 20 mins or so on the wait for the food! I finally had a night out (yay!), and I decided to go to Fosters. I highly recommend it. It was pretty busy, but they kept the flow really nice and the service was great. The food was amazing and the drinks were reasonably priced. It took a while to get in because there was a line of people, but there isn't tons of room inside the venue, so that makes sense. Our recent visit could have and SHOULD have been better! First, when we arrived, the "Specials" sign at the door said, BOGO burger at half price. When I asked the waitress for it, she said, "oh, that's only if you order after five (5 p.m.). It was just past four. Why put a sign inside the entrance if it's not pertinent? The sign said nothing about 5 p.m. So, no specials for us. I guess if we were to sit and drink for fourty-five minutes, we could have ordered at five? No thanks, we don't drink and were hungry at 4:30. My wife then made the mistake of ordering fried shrimp. In all my life, we've never had shrimp that were half-fried and half raw! Until now! We were so hungry we inhaled the first two before realizing that half the shrimp were actually raw. They were obviously, frozen and fried in less oil than needed, hence the half not immersed in the oil, were simply raw. When I alerted our waitress, she said how many do we want redone? There were five in the order for like $20-something (the cheeseurger was $18). So, they took back the two on our plate that had not been partially eaten and recooked them and gave us two replacement shrimps. No, not an apology or even a fresh order cooked correctly. Two cooked shrimp. Needless to say, we were aghast and won't return. This place was basically just a bar with fine dining prices. If we wanted $20 burgers and overpriced (half-done) fried shrimp, we could go to the Airport Inn or Runways or some other "classy" place. This place is anything but class and doesn't "foster" (pun intended) any desire to return. read more

We had a wonderful dining experience here on Valentine's Day. We made reservations and were led straight to our table. We ordered drinks and the mushroom crostini appetizer. The orange crush was super-tasty and the salmon dinner special was divine. The fish was cooked perfectly and the risotto was so good. They also served a kohlrabi side dish that was perfectly balanced and not bitter. The dessert tray was impressive and my husband & I both ordered something. We will definitely be back! read more

Amazing. We have visited many times over the last year and it is always a good experience! Even when they are busy we receive excellent service and the kitchen staff is always vibrant and moving. We usually order a couple apps, the wings are fantastic and - if you ask, the chefs will kick up an extra spicy wing sauce for you. The bartender also let us use a special hot sauce made by a local. Very cool. The outdoor area is great too; though we haven't used that since last summer we always enjoyed a fresh crush in the back with a lovely, jovial bartender whose name I do not remember.
