Had a groupon for a cut with wash, blow dry, and style. I had Tanya as my stylist and she was fantastic! She cut and styled my hair exactly how I envisioned it to be and cut it so it would work well with my hair texture and preferred part. I'd give it 5 stars for Tanya, but unfortunately when I booked my appointment they didn't give me enough time for a long hair cut (despite my telling the receptionist that my hair was long and she said that she'd book it for enough time) so my appointment was a little rushed. I did go in on a Saturday though, so I can understand that they were very busy. Overall though, this salon was great and wasn't too expensive even without a groupon. It's small and cute (located inside a house), but very efficient and homey. I'd recommend this place but maybe try making an appointment during the weekday since weekends are so busy! read more

The owner was very rude and not understanding when I called that I was stuck in traffic and was going to be 10min late. Didn't even offer to reschedule just hung up on me. Booked an appointment through Groupon for a wash, cut, blowdry. Best purchase ever. The owner is outgoing and very friendly. She listened to my request and did exactly as I asked. I then booked an appointment for highlights. She took the time to explain how she would do them and we both agreed the whiter, the better. I could not have been happier with the results. I now have a salon I can depend on to give me exactly what I want to look like. and have already booked my next haircut. read more

The hair stylist Tanya was great. That said, when I went to apply the expired value of a Groupon I purchased towards the full price of the service I received, the salon did not honor the full value of the Groupon since I paid a discount for the Groupon when the site was running a sale. I am very dissatisfied with the lack of customer service and I will not be going back. read more

I had an appointment for a spray tan. First off, the signage is awful and there's no marked parking, so I wasn't sure if I was in someone's spot. It looks like an apartment/multi family house. I walk in and the place was completely empty with the exception of one woman (Perhaps the owner?) who's first words to me were- "oh you're almost 10 minutes late I can't take you. I have a client coming in any minute she just called." Mind you she never mentioned rescheduling and I was 7 minutes late. I guess she doesn't want the business. Terrible. I purchased a hair cut through Groupon (and a second for another visit). The owner threatened to call the police because she couldn't figure out how to redeem her own coupon to get paid. My hair cut didn't even come out as I'd wanted. I'll be getting it fixed by another salon and canceling my other voucher. The outside is dumpy, barely visible, outdated sign that looks like it is from the 80's and it's the bottom half of a residential house. The most unprofessional business I've ever dealt with. This place is terrible. I bought a Groupon like others did for a cut, blow dry and style. She was in the middle of coloring someone's hair so my cut was rushed - 20 minutes. She said she didn't have time to blow dry and style my hair because I was 5 minutes late. 5 minutes. So I left with a wet head. A good stylist would finish the job and see the end result, make additional adjustments if necessary. I got home, attempted to blow dry and style my hair, and its uneven! It's a terrible cut, wasnt what I asked for at all. I hate it. So now I'm going to have to go pay for another cut elsewhere to fix it. If I was happy with the cut and service, I was going to book a cut, color and eyebrow wax for my next visit but I was rushed out the door. I wasnt asked if I wanted a follow up appointment, and I dont know why the front desk person didnt comment that I was leaving unfinished. This place sucks, dont waste your time and money here. I was a bridesmaid in one of my closest friend's weddings, and she booked the Red Salon and Day Spa to do her hair and makeup, and her bridesmaid's hair and makeup as well. I'll preface this review by saying that the bride looked stunning! Her hair and makeup came out beautiful, which is really great, as most of the bridal party did not have the same experience. On another positive note, the inside of the salon was decorated quite nicely, and the salon provided Dunkin Donuts to the bridal party at no extra charge. However, the majority of the stylists at the salon were not prepared at all to do hair and makeup for a bridal party. It seemed that the only hairdresser who really knew how to do up-dos was the very nice stylist who did the bride's hair. This stylist also did a couple of other bridesmaids in addition to the bride, and all of these updos came out great, and just what you'd expect when you bring a bridal party to get ready for a wedding. However, there was only one other hair stylist who seemed to be "okay" at doing updos, but hers were also very outdated, and seemed more like 90's prom hair. However, there were four other hair dressers who just didn't know how to do updos. Most of them stated they didn't know how to do "braids'" which seems pretty essential as a hairdresser, especially one charging for updos. However, not only that, but the up-dos that they did do didn't even really look like updos, but more Iike really really messy buns and pony tails falling out. None of the hair dressers knew to use enough hair spray , and several of the bridesmaids had to return to the hairdressers in order to have their hair re-done, as the "up-dos" were falling out immediately. It was as though the hairstylists and salon had never done a wedding party before. One bridesmaid asked for a "classic" bun and the hairstylist said she didn't know how to do it. One other hair stylist did know how to do braids, but it seemed like her updos were simply braids wrapped around someone's head over and over again like Medusa. One of the bridesmaids also had to wear a wig for personal reasons, and none of the hair artists could adapt to putting hair up with a wig. I have been in other weddings where a member of the bridal party had to wear a wig, and the stylist had no trouble putting a wigup, as a true stylist would be able to do. Besides lacking the knowledge of how to put up bridal hair, many of the hair stylists were very rude and unprofessional. They were rude and seemed offended when asked to do braids. They were also negatively talking about the bridesmaid with the wig and complaining about her in front of the other bridesmaids! Totally unprofessional and made us feel very uncomfortable. On top of this, the bride was quoted a certain price her up-do, but was charged more per up-do than what was initially quoted. Now onto makeup. The makeup artist was very inconsistent. A couple of the bridesmaid's makeup looked nice, and the bride looks so pretty. However, most of the people who had their makeup done were not happy, and the makeup on these girls looked very messy and overdone. One of the bridesmaids asked for fake eyelashes, and the makeup artist not only fumbled and spend a long putting them on, but only had one length of extremely long and fake looking lashes. When the bridesmaid decided the lashes looked too fake, the makeup artist removed them haphazardly, left the eyelash glue on, and simply put eyeliner over the glue, leaving the makeup looking clumpy and though a toddler did it. Not only this, but the makeup artist took far too long with each bridesmaid, and ended up making the bride and bridesmaids late for the photographer. I have been a bridesmaid numerous times and have never had a makeup artist take that much time to do makeup. On the bright side, there were quite a few women there getting washes, cuts and dyes and seemed like regulars and seemed happy with the hairstylists. It seems this place may be a good place for these basic services. However this is not a place I would ever recommend anyone to do anything really new or modern to their hair or to book a bridal party. I really feel as though the salon had never done a big bridal party before. Again, the hairstylist who worked on the bride did a great job, but again was the only one who did. read more

You must give this salon a try! I first visited the Red Sun Salon and Day Spa after seeing them advertised on Groupon. They were offering a highlight, cut, shampoo & dry special for only $30 (after an extra 20% discount) and had amazing reviews from other Groupon users. For that affordable price, I couldn't say no! I requested Chris, the owner, as my hair dresser, because she had earned positive comments and had a solid reputation noted by visitors of the salon. This salon was well-worth it and I am happy to say that I now make regular appointments with Chris for my highlights, lowlights, layering, and cut needs. Chris has been accommodating, kind, and entertaining in every one of my visits to her salon since last Winter. She offers sounds advice, doesn't try to sell you any products unless you ask, and has even provided discount cards and costs on the regular price of highlights and lowlights. I even brought my very particular mother (whom I love dearly) to Chris and who can be hard to please at times, and she was so happy that she now goes back on her own! With affordable prices ($70 regular cost for highlight, shampoo, cut, dry and style), I definitely recommend that you give the Red Sun Salon a try! You'll be pleased and won't ever need to shop for a deal again in order to afford quality hair service! read more

Horrible! Horrible!! Horrible!!! My stylist didn't understand what "U" shape haircut means. She kept cutting my hair straight. I asked her to cut lot of layers and I guess she didn't understand that also. At one point I had to stop her from cutting my hair. I paid big money and went to other salon to reshape my hair. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS SALON TO ANYBODY. read more

Went in with a REALLY inexpensive Groupon for a highlight and cut/style. In this case, I did not get what I paid for! :) The owner is very personable, and more importantly, knows what she's doing. Listened to exactly what I wanted, and I walked out really pleased with my style and natural looking color. Many compliments the next day. I will go back. read more

Have been here a few times. I love having Chris cut my hair. She is friendly, funny and talented. She also cuts my children's hair which is so much better than one of the chain salons. The prices are very reasonable and I would definitely recommend. read more
