With his mother's total agreement he swung the bat, aiming directly at her back shoulder and hit her with a good amount of force. To my amazement she turned around with a big grin on her face. She felt no pain. The sensation was quite the opposite and actually invigorated her. I could see in her face and hear in her voice that she had somehow become more alive. I was intrigued, to say the least. Since that day 4 years ago, Qi gong has become an integral part of my life. The Jingui method along with stellar instruction and guidance has benefited my life in deeply meaningful ways. Qi Gong has been the impetus for my physical, mental and emotional transformation. I believe this training is quite profound in its ability to achieve its most basic objectives: health and wellness. What it offers in addition to that is incredibly powerful. Darren creates a fun class environment and has thoughtfully supports each student throughout the entire process. He is completely free of judgement and completely full of praise. His big heart and authentic character are a testament to the training itself. The best way to learn more is to check out one of the introductory classes held in Corte Madera or Santa Cruz. I have been suffering from extreme fatigue for over a decade (amongst other things). I've been to…read moreso many western specialists who have dismissed my symptoms as "nothing" or concluded that I might be crazy and in need of a therapist. After decades of seeing a variety of western doctors and not getting any reprieve despite the hundreds of different meds they have given me, nothing has improved. In fact, I just got worse. Year after year, other disturbing symptoms started to show up and physically my body was showing noticeable changes of gradual decline. This downward progression should not be too alarming if I was at an age where the body's slow organ function was considered normal (though that's even debatable). However, I am still young which made this decline into dis-ease even more prominently disturbing. One day, a friend recommended that we both see Dr. Li. At that point, I was open to trying anything that would give me any sort of glimmer of hope of a recovery. I was anxious to see him and to see what he had to say. At the first meeting, he took my pulse and stayed still as if listening (and yet he was just holding my arm). After a few minutes, he looked at me and said, "You look strong, but your body is weak." In his gentle and reassuring way, he confirmed everything that I was feeling. I almost cried with relief. Here was this humble and yet intuitive doctor who confirmed with me that my symptoms are real and that I was not crazy. The immediate support was overwhelming. My acupuncture sessions with Dr. Li began in earnest and I have been seeing him once a week for the past four months or so. Why so long? I have a ton of healing to do - years of accumulated stress and physical disrepair to mend, so it will take me a while. Every body is different. Not everyone can expect instant healing after a few sessions. You have to invest in yourself and be patient. I also commute an hour to an hour and a half just to see him (one way). Might be too far for most, but worth the commute for me. I show up every week for the acupunture treatments and depending on what my body needs, then I take a variety of herbs (pills) that Dr. Li recommends that I take. Herbs are so much better - all natural and easier for the liver to process. After the first couple of treatments I have felt a burst of energy that I haven't felt since I was in my teens. I also sleep so much better now. I can finally sleep soundly period. I digest food better and overall just feel such an improvement in my general well-being. Mind you, I am far from being completely healed, but the positive results pushes me to continue on with the sessions. Dr. Li is amazing and kind and compassionate. That in addition to him having full knowledge of how the body should function and what organs need healing make him a brilliant doctor. Don't be shy about asking him questions. He is more than happy to explain anything and everything to you. If you want to explore natural healing, do yourself a favor, and make an appointment with him. You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain.
