We stopped here before our trip to Whittier. This little food cart is located right next to a park. We ordered a kiebasa and a spicy reindeer sausage. The couple working was extremely friendly, efficient, and the prices were very reasonable. In fact, the spicy reindeer sausage was themost low key item I had in Alaska, and the most tastiest too. We went for a quick trip to this hotdog stand to experience reindeer sausage for the first time. When we got there, there was a line. We had to wait for a few minutes for our turn. We didn't wait too long since we came around 11am. He had to cook the sausages in minutes. The price was okay. We had to park on the street since there was no parking area that's near. We walked by it and were curious about the "reindeer" dog, we assumed it was a gimmick, but hot dog guy told us it's actual reindeer meat mixed with beef (or pork? - can't remember, doesn't matter) -- either way, WOWSA! We got the reindeer dog with grilled onions, the house sauce and a teeny bit of yellow mustard. It may have been the best dog I've ever had! If you're in Anchorage, this place is a must to stop by! Fun fact: caribous and reindeers are the same animal except reindeers are domesticated while caribous live in the wild. Cool huh? I yelped reindeer sausages and found Red Umbrella reindeer. A lot of positive reviews steered me here to check one out. It's not 100% reindeer meat as it is mixed with beef and pork. I really like it and you can taste a bit of the "gamey" meat. Our server grilled our hot dog buns and we got to dress it up! The location is great and it's across the street from wild scoops! No chairs or tables, but there's a park behind the hot dog stand where there's plenty of places to sit. read more

Was driving by the Solstice and Juneteenth events, when we decided to visit this downtown Reindeer stand. Employees were welcoming, conversational and fast. The reindeer dogs were flavorful, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. RED is fully equipped with a clean and organized condiment and drink station. They have social media deals and loyalty reward programs. With an easily accessible downtown location and great hours, we'll definitely be back. read more

My new favorite Hot Dog stand, check them out across the street from Hard Rock Cafe! I work downtown and probably eat street food 3 days a week during the summer. They're super nice and at least a dollar cheaper than everyone else. Don't let that fool you though, the food is great! Everything from the caramelized onions to their signature BO$$ Sauce.
