    Reindeer Breakfast plate.

Hot, morning coffee at an outdoor table and 55°, and an even warmer welcome await you! No rush, just relaxation. The Reindeer breakfast hits on every level to fuel you for your day in Anchorage. Friendly locals wander by and speak, all with a smile. Great experience!

Wish we'd found this place yesterday - total gem! Great people, great food, great ambiance. Don't miss this place when you're in Anchorage; looks like the locals know about it and now we do, too!

This place was recommended by our tour guide for the halibut sandwich! It's a perfect spot for tourists to enjoy fresh halibut.

Halibut plate with onion rings (slight up charge for the swap out of FF but worth it)

This place lives up to all the top reviews! The food was fabulous. We had the Halibut sandwich wi the fries and Halibut Plate with coleslaw and upped the fries to onion rings. So excellent! The fish is not greasy nor the fries or onion rings! You would think everything was air fried! They tell me it's not but they use separate oil fryers for fish versus the veggies. We also checked out a Cupid reindeer chili! Made me want to eat chili more. Reindeer meat not distinctive but eh come back and try the reindeer hash if you must. Reindeer typically super lean. Great chili and you can get it topped with cheese and onions. Great service! Super friendly and efficient! Seat yourself and follow their rules! They're posted. Walk up to the cash register to check out! I'm only here for two days and hope I make it there again tomorrow!

Service was fast and friendly. Pick your own seats. I ordered a cheeseburger and I wasn't disappointed. The lettuce was nice a crunchy, crisp tomatoes, tasty pickles. The fries were delicious too natural cut fries love that! They, also have great old school music playing. Thank you to the cooks! Alaska knows how to make a good burger at this little spot downtown Anchorage. Small town feel if that is your cup of tea. Friendly vibes and welcoming. The name throws you off depending on the audience, however great place for a quick simple meal. I might have to try the halibut for lunch.

Fast and friendly service. Love the atmosphere in there. Lots of Coke memorabilia. Food was great, will have to go back to try their famous halibut sandwich.

    Best cook ever!

Incredible service from the moment we walked in. We were greeted by someone looking at us, not just arbitrarily calling out a greeting. Super clean, very homey. Old school style patty melt is off the chain! Housecut fries, perfection! The halibut sandwich is everything I wish and hope for. Not sloppy or wet, perfectly prepared. Again, the fries! The grill is right out in the open, the cooks carried on friendly conversation with diners while they worked. Our soda refills came quickly and without prompting. I imagine a group of old men meeting for morning coffee, laughing and busting up, being a regular scene. This place totally lives up to the hype, and is incredibly affordable. I can't wait to come again.

Local cafe - good service - excellent breakfast! Another time I had lunch, it was reasonable and tasty! Recommended this place if downtown!

Had the Halibut Sandwich with coleslaw. This place has the best coleslaw in Alaska. Coming from Oklahoma I have been disappointed by coleslaw in Alaska until today. Service was great. The halibut sandwich was delicious as well.

Fried Halibut platter with coleslaw and French fries.

I finally tried this location based on a coworkers recommendation. My first choice was the halibut sandwich. I changed my mind and got the halibut platter. It was 3 pieces of fried halibut, coleslaw, and French fries with a sweet tea. Everything was on point. I see why this restaurant gets rave reviews. The staff is proud of their food that is prepared. The restaurant is clean and nicely laid out. Parking is available curbside or at a nearby parking lot. Cash/Credit/Debit are accepted here.

The service was on point. They have a massive whiskey bar downstairs. They have an excellent menu of craft cocktails. They also have excellent mocktails. I will critique their bourbon selection only because they have a number of bourbons that are 18+ years old that they're trying to sell for Scottish and Japanese prices which are based on reality. Bourbon is not any good out of the barrel past 12 to 14 years. Corn is not the same as grains. The sugar is degrade and get dark after 14 years in spite of some companies selling some of their older swill, trying to get rid of it as premium. They were very nice. I gave the bartenders and recommendations of things that actually are worth that kind of money in the bourbon world. There was plenty to find that was not expensive and quite excellent. The only negative? The Host stand at the top of the stairs needs people who have more pleasant personality. How you greet people in the restaurant is absolutely imperative. It sets the tone for the whole meal. The whole experience. They seem to think that their job is to shoot people off because the restaurant is booked, but they do it in a manner that will make sure people don't come back. It's a little too New York curt. Smiling, and some good grace, would not hurt either of them. When they tell you, it's time to be seated, engaging people and making eye contact would certainly also help them look a little more human as well. Do make reservations. Otherwise, the wait time can be very long. Outstanding food! Absolutely worth passing through the gargoyles at the front door

First they said they were moving things around implying it would be a few minutes. 15 minutes later I went up and he said 5-10 minutes to wait. 15 minutes later still nothing and they tell me another 30-45 minutes and acted appalled that I had checked in. Not worth dealing with them so I left. Ambiance seemed great but ramen isn't worth rude staff so I left.

They've got a solid variety of Alaska brews on tap, way more than your average spot, so it's easy to try something new or stick with a favorite. We started eating within 2-3 minutes of walking out the door, but it was practically inedible. The fish and fries were incredibly laden with oil; just heavy, greasy, and completely unseasoned. Ratio of breading to fish was 50/50, so you get a little gipped on the actual fish. Everything desperately needed salt at minimum. To make matters worse, they send it with their berry tartar sauce, which is an absolute crime in all 50 states. We specifically requested regular tartar sauce and were given plain mayonnaise instead. None of our other requested condiments, like ketchup, were supplied either. Service for the limited time I interacted with her, was average. She was easy going, but not particularly warm or engaging. While the portions were fine, $35 for a meal that we tossed out after 2-3 bites is incredibly frustrating. I hate wasting money and fresh seafood, but it was just that bad.
