I had a great night Red white & brew. They've been on my list to try since I first spotted them in a black owned business collection on Yelp. They've only been open seven months But you would never know they haven't been here longer. Every detail is very well thought out. They serve local red wine white wine as well as beer brewed in New York State. We sampled the fermented board which had four delicious kimchi and sauerkraut options served with a mini baguette. We also split the Panini which was delicious. I tried one of the heartier red wines and my partner was able to use his BeerPass to try one of the New York State IPAs We enjoy talking to the owner about starting business and hopes for the future. They are hosting silent disco every other month And participate in first Friday as well with rotating art exhibit where you can meet the artist

I like the idea of a place that supports local/state Vineyards/Breweries and etc. The inside is light and bright and has mural of the Finger Lakes and paintings around. The back room has tables and chairs as well as this place might seem deceptive as it's a little bigger than it is. You can order by the glass or by flight. We can also get a charcuterie board or just cheese or meat. The owner was around when we came in and answered questions. I think it's a fun place to come with friends, you can also play card games and it's warm and inviting. My only annoyance is parking is a pain in the area. IMPORTANT ITS CARD ONLY.. NO CASH! But all in all a fun date night or visit with your friends or even book club. Give them a whirl.

Very friendly staff and clean atmosphere! The jam that came with the cheese plate was absolutely delicious! High recommend for anyone 21+!

One of my favorites places that has opened in Rochester in the past year. Wine, beer and Whiskey--all from New York State. Depending on the mood, the fermented food (i.e. Sauerkraut) or charcuterie boards are all great but I'm glad that they added the pastrami panini as a more substantive option. Each time I've visited, I've been able to taste the beverage before committing which is huge in deciding whether or you want to order something different. Omar, the Omar, and Caroline, the bar manager, are both friendly and welcoming and have a lot of knowledge to share about the beverage selection which is always changing. And it's always good to support black-owned establishments in the city!

What a great new place! Red, White, and Brew is on Andrews St near The Spirit Room, an area that's really becoming a center for unique and eclectic spots. The first thing you need to know is that, despite it's name, this place is not solely focused on beer. They do have a selection of really interesting beers and offer beer flights, but they also have a lot more than that. There is a great selection of wines available, all handpicked from finger lakes wineries, from sweet to dry, and served from some really cool Italian wine serving/preserving equipment. There is also a good selection of whiskies and vodkas, and cheese and charcuterie boards when you're hungry (with gluten free bread and cracker options!). The focus is clearly on quality, and you get that quality without any pretentiousness. Omar, the owner, knows his stuff, and can give you recommendations and tell you why he chose each thing they serve. (He can also talk your ears off about video games!) This place has been a dream of his for ten years, and it shows in the care you see in each detail - the art on the walls, the serving equipment, the ice used in the whiskey, the music, the games available to patrons - it all provides a nice comfort and quality that I will absolutely be back for. I also hear they have some special events - first Fridays, tastings, silent discos, etc. - and would love to check those out. While parking is tight in front of the building, there is a large lot behind the building that is free after 6pm and on weekends, which makes it easily accessible for downtown. Overall, it's a burgeoning new business that I would definitely encourage people to support and enjoy!

The first word that comes to mind after my experience here last night: impressed. At every turn this was a wonderful experience and we will certainly return! We arrived at about 5pm, and simply paid $2 for an hour of parking on the street out front (they only charge until 6pm). When we entered, we were cheerfully greeted by the owner and the manager, who were helpful in orienting us to the menu. They've got placards with their QR code placed around the bar and on tables so you don't have to awkwardly search for one or share them. My partner tried the Belgian Cookie Ale, and it was delicious (of course I stole a sip). The owner told us a bit of background about the brewery, and it was great to see this unique offering as it sometimes feels like local places stock the same handful of craft beers and don't put in effort to stock unique brews. All four red wines in my flight were tasty, especially with the cheese. We also tried the horseradish pickles (we enjoyed them so much I forgot to take a photo!). They were zingy and crunchy, everything you want in a pickle and the perfect amount for the two of us to share. While we sipped and snacked, we had fun quizzing each other with one of the trendy trivia card games they kept on the bar--a really cool thoughtful touch. The candles lit around the bar and on each table made for a chill, yet sophisticated atmosphere, and there was plenty of space between the bar and the tables in the back (they even have a coffee table and a couple of couches if you bring a larger group!) I will definitely be back to try one of their charcuterie boards, a chocolate flight, and of course more NY wines. Between the thoughtfully curated menu and space, the support of local NY businesses, and the fact that it's a Black owned business, I can't recommend this place highly enough. An absolute gem in Rochester. *Heads up: this bar doesn't accept cash payment!

I'm hesitant to keep bragging about this place, only because I don't want it so busy we can't get in. But for the owners benefit-I'd be ok with that. Great wine, beer, sprits and local foods.

First of all, I want to emphasize anyone who is not familiar with downtown of Rochester that some area do have or do not have a parking lot that has to pay the rate. This area where brew is at has a parking lot that we need to pay the rate. The owner at the brew was very friendly and super nice. My partner and I went there for an elite event and he greeted us warmly. The two drinks I had was the champ!!! It made me wanting to drink more of these sweet wines. You will not resist it if you have had a sip of the wine. The environment in the bar was nice and very bright. I like it a lot. I would recommend anyone who like sweet wines like I do then go this place!! They also have some beers so guests can enjoy both.

Love love love it here. The owner is very welcoming. Great selections of wines, beers and whiskey from New York state breweries, wineries and distilleries. On the first Friday of the month, local artists are featured. I had a whiskey flight and definitely want to try out the wine flights.

Went for the Wednesday night Game night with my sister and niece. The atmosphere here is very warm and inviting. Owner, Omar Chin, was so nice and explained the history of not only the bar itself, but the whole building. He is also very knowledgeable about the local brews he carries. We had a very nice experience tonight and as we will be attending another event here on Saturday, we are definitely looking forward to that. We will have to also check out the Trivia night on Thursdays as well.

It feels like a hidden locals-only joint where you can grab a glass of your fave from a thoughtfully curated list of delicious options, and settle in with your better half, besties or a group of friends and just chill. We've been to Apogee a number of times before and 'after' covid, in colder months when we've been lucky to snag a window table, and in warmer times, like tonight, when we can sit outside and enjoy the flickering fireflies along with our sparkling rosè. Besides the pleasant atmosphere, Apogee has a beautifully appointed interior space, clean bathrooms, and a menu with cheese plates, cake, and more wines than you could taste in a summer. All of that plus super knowledgable 'bar tenders' (more like wine sommeliers) who can take your possibly clumsy description of what you think you want and offer up several perfect options, and you have the makings of a very pleasant evening. Book mark this place and plan to spend at least an hour enjoying an outside table!

As a special events venue, Apogee was flexible with outside food and also with decorations. There was no additional venue rental/site fee, just a minimum spend amount (which we were confident that we would exceed). The venue is cozy and intimate, but has high ceilings so it did not feel claustrophobic at all, even with 30+ guests at one point. I'm a wine snob myself, so I was a bit skeptical initially when I saw their wine list. Most of the wines they serve retail for $10-20. They do have some bottles that are more expensive (retail ~$30). However, after tasting some of their entry level wines (Ancient Peaks Zinfandel & Gouguenheim Malbec), my worries vanished. Everything I tasted was excellent and drank better than their actual price point. Steve was a great host. He was laid back, but still friendly and attentive to all of our guests. He made sure everybody's drink needs were satisfied. He was also flexible with letting us in the venue early to set up and also staying late to clean up. I also liked the fact that they allowed us to bring our own wine, for a $15 per bottle corkage fee, which is fair. Anyways, Apogee is a great venue for a small party. They are flexible and reasonable. I would definitely recommend them as a wine bar and for hosting a private event (especially on a Sunday).

The menu is different than other places, it goes from small to large plates and you order what you want and if you want more- keep ordering. My daughter got a flight of white wines and I got one of their beers, which was an interesting hazy IPA called Baby Kittens. Our waiter Philip was very knowledgeable on the wine selection and helped with the food order. We started out with the Flour City bread, which was toasted and had a dip of whipped ricotta with butternut squash - excellent! Next, we had the salt and pepper squid - their version of a fried calamari appetizer - also excellent with a nice little spice that snuck up on you a little bit. We followed that with the farm salad, which had a great cranberry vinaigrette. Then we had mussels which were over a jasmine rice that had a great sauce with it. The last dinner item we had was the butternut squash ravioli - so tasty! The table next to us got the fries, which was a huge mound of french fries with Parmesan cheese and I think something else on it. It was a lot of food. The waiter suggested their desserts, which was a choice of a huge slice of carrot cake or a skillet baked chocolate chip cookie or brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. We got the latter and it was excellent. The atmosphere was very subdued and great for a date or just a fun night out. I highly recommend visiting Carnegie Cellars!

Dan and I shared some wine flights with red wines from France, Canada, and Italy. They were all delicious. Then our awesome attentive waiter Richard told us we could order some small bites. They also gave us some high quality aged balsamic and baguette. There's a local chocolatier - so we had to get the few pieces to pair with the red wine (orange peal chocolate, sesame chocolate, and truffle) and all were a treat.
