I was looking for a place to see some live music on a Friday night and noticed that a guy I know was playing at Blue Barn Cidery in Hilton/ No. Greece. I've been there a few times, but it's been a few years. My wife had never gone there, so I thought it'd be nice to introduce her to the place. It was a nice warm night so they had the doors open and everybody pretty much was sitting outside. They have a lot of tables outside - some on the patio and a whole bunch out on the lawn. It's a very family friendly place, with games to play out on the lawn for the kids and adults. They have a decent menu of sandwiches burgers and the usual appetizers/starters. I wasn't that hungry so believe it or not. I ordered off of the kids menu! The burgers were huge. They were double patties and I didn't think I needed that. So I ordered the chicken strips/chicken fingers which came with their potato differs, which are like thin potato wedges. You had your choice of sauces so I got barbecue and lime Crema. Both were really good. My wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich and could only eat part of it because it was huge too. It also came with the potato dippers. She liked what she had of it! So there is a farm that is part of Blue Barn Cidery and they just harvest it a whole bunch of blueberries so they are selling blueberry confections in their gift shop. When you first walk in you walk right through the gift shop which sells honey and candles and T-shirts, etc. They have a whole bunch of choices of cider, but I'm more of a beer guy so I got my favorite, which is Other Half Green City IPA. My wife hasn't been drinking, but she absolutely loves root beer and they have Saranac root beer there so she was happy. It was a very relaxing place to have some dinner and a drink and listen to some music outside. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be coming back. read more

We typically attend for an event, like the Meat Hot Sauce Festival when it's at Pomona, which we will shop up early to start our night in the tap room and then end our night in the tap room for one more drink before we leave. We had an event here recently and it was a lovely venue for it. The outside weather was perfect to hang out under a tent and drink their various cider options. Elsewhere, there were a dozen tables outside where young and old were relaxing in the sun. Some kids were playing whiffle ball, while a tag football game was taking place elsewhere. I wish they had can jam or cornhole but I didn't see it. Inside, others were sitting at the many tables mingling about. A separate area had food for sale and it looked like donuts and other baked goods. I tried the "Jostaberry Jam" (hard cider, semi-sweet, gooseberry & currant) and "SLAM" (hard cider, semi-sweet, Salt, Lime, Apple, Margarita) and both were excellent. First timer, after hearing so many great things about this place. The inside is huge, there were multiple birthday parties happening on a Saturday night, but plenty of room to find your own spot. I started off with a flight of ciders/beer which were all delicious (I paid $10 for 4 choices). We also all ordered food ranging from lobster Mac n cheese, a vegetarian pasta dish, Caesar salad and arancini. Everyone enjoyed their food and I especially enjoyed their vegetarian pasta dish with garlic butter. This was a special pasta night so the menu was different than usual. The service is different too because there's no servers, you order everything up at the bar but it's huge and the line moves really quick. Wife and I made it out to Blue Barn tonight for their Thursday evening live music. It's been on our agenda for a while and somewhere we really wanted to try but we don't live nearby. We have tried their ciders and enjoyed them. Unfortunately it wasn't a positive experience and I can't really recommend anyone else make the trip. There were some good things The place is very large and can handle a ton of people. They do have a decent variety of drinks so that was another pro. Those two things are about it. Well, and the burger. We each got a flight for 10 bucks which is okay. We liked some of our drinks more than others, that's pretty standard as well when you're trying new things. There was a series of negatives though. When you pull in the parking lot is very cramped especially if you have a larger vehicle. This goes double for the parking spots themselves. You walk into a store selling a few local products and then there's a sign that just says please seat yourself. There's no real explanation on how they have things set up. You just kind of got a guess and figure it out yourself. We got in line for the bar and placed our order. Now, this is where this gets a little confusing as there's a large bar inside and there's a bar shack thing outside, and you can order food at the bar inside...as well as drinks, but you can also get food at another food shack thingy outside. It's kind of confusing and all over the place... Either way you go to the bar, you go to pick up your food... yet for some reason they expect a tip? This really confuses me as they're not doing anything that would deserve a tip. Most people that we saw bused their own tables but there was a busser. Maybe I would understand if the tip options were like $1 $2 $3. But they're not, they start at 15% and go up from there... So we took our drinks and found a table. The music was was okay as well, not too loud, Not great but not bad. So our buzzer rang and we went and got our food to bring back to the table. The fries were more heavily salted than any potato I've ever eaten; pretty much to the point where they were almost inedible. The pulled chicken in the tacos was very dry and the sauce that came in the tacos was very very heavily seasoned. It was just not a good combination. We also got some mozzarella sticks which were okay and the burger which was the only food that was actually good. All in all, considering it's not easily accessible, it's not particularly affordable, it's not particularly tasty, and it's not really offering you anything that you can't get elsewhere... Discovered this cider on a whimp, at one of the local area Tops, found a can on sale of White Peach Mango and loved everything about it.​ The hard cidery industry in my opinion, has exploded over the last three years. My friend and I took a drive there this past Friday evening. Overall, the atmosphere was warm, cozy and spacious being located in a barn. My friend and I split a flight of cider, and she opted for small appetizers. Staff were exceptional, pleasant and one could tell they enjoyed their jobs. Cider and merchandise are located at their store, right when you enter or leave. Cider prices are affordable as everything is made right there, 4 packs at $15, single cans at $5 , and single samples at $3. In addition to cider, smaller plates, beer, craft cocktails. Even looked like there might be apple picking in fall, along with other events. Would like to come back another tie for an event, or over summer when it's warmer.​ read more

The cider selection and rotating local beers here are great. The drinks are definitely the highlight, and that alone makes this place worth a visit. The food hasn't really matched what the menu promises. The dishes always sound great, but they don't always turn out as expected. It's clear there's a lot of potential, which makes it more disappointing when the kitchen falls short. I hope they can improve things in the kitchen, because this place could be great all around. Until the food matches what's described and expected, it might make sense to adjust the prices to fit the experience. read more

Took 10 min for the woman to figure out how to split it and then the food still came out in two batches and not together. Burgers are only cooked medium well and were dry. Blue Barn Cidery is a beautiful cider mill with many options for beverages. My wife and I both got a flight of ciders and sat at a picnic table outside. We both lean towards drier ciders and these were delicious. We both loved "Pop the Bubbly" a cider that was very much like a brut champagne, you don't get much drier than that. I also had a SLAM(Salt, Lime, Apple Margarita) cider that was very good and totally different than anything I have ever had. We really enjoyed talking to the bartenders and they were very knowledgeable about their ciders. You queue up to order it, find yourself a seat in the poorly heated very large room, and hope you can hear them call your number in the high-ceiling room that serves as a ding room. A friend and I stopped into Blue Barn Cidery for a flight late Friday afternoon and had a great time! We had no problems finding a parking spot in their giant lot. The inside of Blue Barn Cidery is beautiful and incredibly spacious with tons of rolling tables and stools inside and wooden tables outside. We chose to stay inside as it was a cool October afternoon. The noise level inside was great, we didn't feel like we had to yell across the table to talk to each other as we sipped on our flights. The woman working the bar was very friendly and efficient and offered tips on what to try. Their flights let you sample four drinks for $9, a pretty reasonable price for the amount and size of the glasses and pours. Out of the four I drank, my favorite was their Jostaberry Jam cider - a semi-sweet cider bursting with flavor but it wasn't pucker-y sweet like some ciders can be. I was very impressed with Blue Barn Cidery, especially for not being a big hard cider drinker! I really like their space and definitely want to come back and try some more. read more

Had my second Blue Barn experience over the weekend (my first being at a Yelp event a few years back!) and am continually amazed by this family-run business. WOW. We had the absolute best time and I am so glad they are open and thriving post-Corona times. HUGE outdoor dining area, convenient check in and getting squared away with a host upon walking in, and the eats were SO good. Nevermind the fact that they currently have the most amazing blueberry cider on tap - served with their farm grown blueberries. We also enjoyed the nachos, which were delicious and loaded up with a fabulous corn salsa. Their menu is the perfect accompaniment to their cider menu, and our dining dates really enjoyed the burger. I snagged a few fries and they were crispy perfection. Did you know - you can also come here for U pick? A great way to spend the day with family, picking berries then coming in for cider and lunch or dinner. Absolutely beautiful. The ambiance of the place was peaceful, yet tasteful. My dog was able to enjoy the day with us as we sipped delicious cider and munched on some of the best French fries I've had in a while. This place is a summer gem. Plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor, dog friendly, tasty food, and a whole menu of ciders and some beers. The nachos have tons of toppings, good amount of meat. This was my first trip out to Hilton and it was also the day of the Blue Barns Blueberry Festival so it was hopping. We were there celebrating a friend's birthday and the staff did a fantastic job accommodating everyone. My friend told me about this Cidery and I knew I had to try it. I was happy to see that they had cider as well as beer available. I absolutely love the ambiance and decor in the barn. It is extremely clean and modern. Walking in, we were greeted by a lovely employee who was super sweet. There is an abundance of merchandise to purchase from t-shirts to koozies. I ordered a flight that consisted of two ciders and two beers. You fill out your own flight paper and take it to the bar to pay then receive it. The service was extremely fast and the bartenders were very kind. There is no lack of seating here. There are many high-top tables inside and some outside. Outside, there are umbrellas to block the sun on each picnic table. Kids and pets are welcome here too! Towards the back of the outdoor area, there were a couple cornhole boards. They serve food as well, but we did not order any. If I am ever in the area again, I will need to try something. They only serve food from Wednesday- Sunday and there are gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options! The playlist that was playing was perfect. First time trying the blue barn for brunch on a snowy day. My rating is true to the food and quality, of course they serve your typical distillery food, but I expected more flavor in my food and drinks. Peach Blossum tasted like water, I wish it had more flavor but I enjoyed the flavored water. The cidery Riesling was very delicious and completed my meal. I also order the breakfast Quesadilla, was not a fan either so I was told to order the fries and Queso. Had an easy time making reservations online and the process was seamless, very quick service. I had the eggs Benedict which came with a side of house made potatoes, those exceeded my expectations! The "breakfast garbage plate" was a little misleading. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, Mac and cheese, and homemade sausage patties (really yum) served on a plate- not piled on top or covered with a sauce (which I believe makes it a more of a "garbage plate"). This place is gorgeous and the outside space is awesome especially if you have kids. Freedom for them to run and play while you can enjoy the views and keep and eye on them. Don't come for the food. Cider wasn't very cold but the pineapple jam had good flavor. Banana split was yummy but they only do ice cream night every so often. Ice cream was not freezer burnt or melting but a few people that were walking by who saw me eating it asked the price which is $8 for a banana split were shocked on how expensive it was. I put a picture of my Charcuterie board and the one they advertise. Don't waste your money on it! Shriveled blueberries in a over sweet liquid, very few grapes & such a little amount of crackers and meat for the amount of cheese you get. Don't bother. The cheese isn't even worth bringing home. Haven't tried the other food on the menu, maybe it's better. My daughter had the pretzels which were pretty good just make sure they come out hot or they get a little chewy. Food is overpriced. My friend had the chicken sandwich which fries which looked decent and she had no complaints but it took like 25 minutes for it to come out when it wasn't busy. She enjoyed the cocktail she had.
