I'm so incredibly disappointed with the extreme greed of this company! They wanted to charge almost…read more$400 just to bring a small piece of furniture to treat termites. I just ran to City Mill where I picked up one double pack of huge bags(108"×80") along with a can of termite treatment, all for under $20, went home, stuffed that furniture in the bag and used the entire can to assure it got in ALL of the little hidden tunnels and holes that those disgusting little boogers created. I sealed it then took it outside and sucked out all of the air with the vacuum(outside to prevent termite treatment chemicals from being emitted in the air via the vacuum), gave it one day, then I took the furniture out to let it air out under the sun, brought it back inside and it was as good as new, with the exception of the damage those disgusting things previously caused. A little bit of matching colored wood putty and NOW it's as good as new! ALL IN ALL I SAVED MYSELF $385 Just curious, the misleading name of kama'aina as well as kama'aina discounts makes no sense because what tourist needs to treat their Hotel or whatever? A guy came out and quoted me. I called up another company to quote. It was 450 dollars cheaper but I was going to have to wait 3 weeks longer. I was still willing to give kaimaaina a chance to make right. When they called me the day before to give me my window time they told me between 9am and noon. I was like no I was told 3pm until 5pm. The lady had the guy who quoted me the time to call me. He was rude to me on the phone and pretty much called me a liar and used a very threatening voice on the phone. I told him no thanks I will go with another company from here on out. Thanks but no thanks. Do not use this company. Overpriced with no aloha and horrible customer service.

He quickly identified what the situation was, where the bees were coming in to our house, gently took care of the existing bees, and gave us recommendations on how we can prevent the situation from recurring. We learned a lot about bees too! We felt like we had a small part in helping out the bee community, even if we had to let them know that we would prefer that they set up house elsewhere...LOL. Sean seemed like an honest person; I got an upfront estimate on a quarterly maintenance program, but he also said the traps we already laid out could be enough to keep bugs out. He also let me know that there are other things I could do myself before committing to the maintenance program. Within a day or two I got a email with more details on the maintenance program, along with the pictures he took of each hole in my unit. So even though it had only been an initial inspection, I got enough information to be satisfied with Pest Tech Hawai'i.

Not sure on which company this review should be for so I'll be posting to Kilauea Pest Control too…read moresince they sent Pest Tech Hawaii to do the job of tenting for termites. I want to express my disappointment in the tenting crew and how they left my home with damaged gutter drains (2 out of 5). One was stepped on and completely flattened so the rain water has no where to drain out of. The second gutter drain was somehow yanked or knocked out of its position so hard that the screws holding them in place were ripped out. I understand and respect Kilauea Pest Control's contract stating that they have no responsibility for damage to gutters and other home property, so I'm not going to make a big deal of the 2 dented gutters on the house as well. However, it really bothers me that the way my gutter DRAIN pipes were carelessly handled. I JUST had those drain gutters installed 2 months ago. AND also every nozzle from my water hoses (all 3 hoses) were removed and left on the ground as is, with the hoses not put back where they were before the fumigation. AND the solar panel on my security light was turned backwards and the light panels were facing the wrong way. Could they not have simply turned it back the way it was? I also received a text from my not too happy neighbor on the day I was to return home informing me that my smoke alarm was blaring all night the night before. Should I have been advised by the tech that I might need to remove the batteries to these alarms before the tenting? I didn't get any courtesy notice of any damage. I simply came home to find these things on my own. Everything considered is a reflection of how the crew has such a nonchalant attitude towards providing excellent service. It was very disheartening because I actually loved the customer service I received from the office gals from both Pest Tech and Kilauea Pest. I was looking forward to and expecting the same kind of service from the work crew that I got from their office. I will NOT be using Kilauea and Pest Tech again.
