3.5 stars! This ice cream spot has a lot of good stuff going for it. The interior is decorated so pretty, a play on like a European cafe in my opinion. The red cone gives it something "special" to set them apart, customer service was great (I believe the young ladies were Anna and Camilla??) , and they packed our cones full of ice cream so you get your moneys worth :) I really did want to rate higher, but I was underwhelmed by the ice cream itself. Way to sweet and artificial tasting and not enough variety or specialty flavors in my opinion. I hate to say-- but kind of basic. Local ice cream shops are almost always preferable to a chain in my opinion.....this place is no exception! What's better is that each time I've been here the staff has been extraordinarily nice! While I was here I ordered a coffee ice cream milkshake which filled my expectations! Great taste! There are lots of different flavors of ice cream here and other treats as well. They are not named "red cone" foe nothing....here you can get a literal red waffle cone! It's basically a red velvet batter, but a cool little twist on the traditional. It wasn't overly sweet and had a unique texture to it with some cake bits for some chewiness. I chose their signature red cone (vanilla flavor)with two scoops and one topping. The flavors I chose were red velvet and cookies and cream with peanuts. We also ordered a cup of the coconut ice cream with coconut whipped cream. YES coconut WHIPPED CREAM! Yumm. Since it's Halloween soon they put waffle spiders on the ice cream. Loved the touch of creativity. Prices are just right. Especially for the amount of ice cream served. Staff was incredibly sweet and welcoming. So glad to see a local ice cream shop in the meadow woods! This place is extremely cute and definitely has some personality. It's a non-franchise location which makes me extremely happy as I love to support local businesses in our neighborhood. On the flip side I found the double scoop w/2 toppings I got to be a little smaller than I anticipated for almost $6, especially given how gigantic the ice cones look. Furthermore while the redcones look pretty appetizing, ours was a little too hard for our taste (though we did come here near the end of the night). Not too many interesting flavors, however, they have all of the normal varieties like cookies and creme and even some extras like raspberry cheesecake. All in all I would definitely come here again especially since they are open relatively late for a neighborhood ice cream shop, which is always great for a nighttime sweet tooth :). read more

This is a cute non-franchise place. The decors was simple and morden. Definitely have family vibes when you walk in. There are even complementary water cups to drink and a comfy sitting area. If you like slow service and cubes of ice in your shake to water down your ice cream, you found the right place. Are you hurting that bad on the bottom line you need to do this? The ice cream here is not homemade. The shop is clean, and the staff is very nice. They have about 12 flavors of hard ice cream and some soft server. They also offer red waffle cones that I guess are supposed to be red velvet. I didn't really taste anything red velvety in the cone. The batter they use for the cone appears to be a mix as well. As I said in the top of the review they do not make their own ice cream. I just included it on top because to me that is very important. You have the choice of a regular waffle cone, a red cone or cup. Ice cream is sold by the scoop, no soft serve here! After you make your selection (I chose Mint Chocolate Chip) and are handed your cone, there's serve yourself toppings you can add on your way to the register. My one scoop waffle cone was $3.50. So glad I found this place. I was immediately in a much better mood as soon as I walked into RedCone. I was greeted warmly by the attendant, which was very nice. The smell of sweet cream filled my nose and transferred me to happy places in my head lol. OK, so that was about 20 seconds, and then I snapped out of my bliss and realized I was there with my tots . We dug right in for some tastings (which in my head was so wasteful as I knew my kids would have vanilla (little one) and big one would have "Superman" flavor).i. Of course I fell into my usual trap of "cookies and cream", and also tried the special praline flavor. Decent. Based on just the ice cream I would rate it 3 stars... BUT as I was exploring the place... i stumbled upon a freezer that had some treasures! Some paletas!!!! (Frozen pops) but these.... these were exotic flavors such as passion fruit with condensed milk, coconut filled with dulce de leche !!!!!! Omg let me stop... these flavors reminded me some I have tried in Dominican Republic, even the concept was the same... and it's genius!!!!!! But I was disappointed that the pops were not listed on the actual menu, nor there was a cute sign that alerted customers of these amazing treats. I think these sell out quickly, as most flavors were sold-out! Overall this place has tremendous potential, socially and with lines out the door now that I have published this about the paletas!
