I love the Georgetown location and will occasionally visit Bethesda, when I'm running errands in Maryland. Clothing prices are really great and both locations seem to have a good mix of professional and going out clothing. Only giving three stars because the staff here typically aren't that friendly. It's hit or miss if you're holding a pile of clothes and someone will offer to start you a fitting room. I tried visiting tonight, but as soon as I walked inside, the two girls working stated they were closing at 6. Since it wasnt 6 yet, I asked if I could still look around for a couple minutes and waited for a response. They both heard me because we were just talking, but they ignored my question while I stood waiting for a response, so I would leave--which I did. Will stick to the Georgetown location with the nicer staff. [Separately, the hours on the door say they're open until 8 Monday to Saturday.]

Shocking! The moment you walk in - the vibe screams NYC boutique staff. Haughty and dismissive. You have to get their attention- even with a scheduled appointment to sell. Didn't have high expectations. Especially when the sales associate had zero customer service or communications skills. Four items of the dozen they threw on the counter, I was told to circle back when they make a decisions. Lol. Again- NO COMMUNICATION SKILLS and certainly no phone etiquette. Ten minutes to rummage thru lightly worn St Johns, brand new Louboutin heels and Tory Burch hand bags (items in their original bags/boxes never exposed to the elements) were quotes each under $100.00. Better opportunities in NOVA, online, and Jersey. Was hopeful for a closet purge. Given the clientele and the staff- no need to step foot in their doors. Unfortunate representation of the Bethesda area- especially the "Amber Heard" wanna be that has no concept of consignment. Received a pleasant and professional follow up from the proprietor. Personable and eager to reflect on the experience and how to improve. It was enlightening to know and feel heard. I have to upgrade the rating to a 3 for the desire to provide a solution or strategy to improve operations.

Perfect heels but can't justify $100 for moderately worn, even for Chanel.

Street parking and a few nearby garages. Top 40s playlist to shop to. If Goodwill drank from Bethesda's bougie punch, this would be it. Shoes and purses displayed in multiple areas of the well-lit space, plus a small men's section in part of the back corner of the store. Jewelry at the counter. Staff members are friendly and fairly attentive. This place is pretty sweet, but more so if you're built like you'll blow away in the wind. An hour and a half of browsing three sections my first trip yielded one pair of stilettos, a necklace, a bracelet, and two cocktail dresses. I saw a lot more cute stuff that didn't quite fit me and/or my style-- kind of depressing when you've lost more weight than a family-size bag of rice and still measure as a large. The staff tries to keep on top of customers replacing items in the wrong size section, but as with any secondhand shop it's best to allot plenty of time to peruse inventory. I ended up passing on the heels (too rich for my blood considering the amount of wear already on them Chanel kicks) but I scored the rest of my loot for under $75. I'll definitely be back every season to comb the racks, sales and not. A little more feng shui and their organization by section might almost make sense. Always checking pilling and seam stitching, some stains and tears here and there. Note: I've not had any noticeable problems with customer service, but I feel like the jewelry tends to be close to end of shelf-life; I've had a bracelet and two necklaces from here break on me after only a few uses... re-beading and repairing is a b! Ditto on purse straps about to tear. 2015: staff increasingly indifferent. Inventory lacks during season transitions.

    Jeweled!

Essentially its hours now are Thursday-Sunday 3-6 pm. Even if the door is locked, just knock and the shopkeeper will let you in. - The owner (Sylvia) is going to start transitioning the clothes to the spring season... coming in a couple of weeks or so! - On that note, the shop's strong suit are the accessories -- lots of nice cocktail hats/handbags/jewelry. Examine closely, because pretty much everything in there's for sale. - Starting next week she's going to start making prices static. Yeah, no more haggling, but at least it will be a lot less pressure for those who are uncomfortable with negotiating. In conjunction, some of the prices of the clothing will be adjusted... so maybe that amazing paillette jacket will be cheaper now? Also, I've learned something recently, having become acquainted with the owner. Y'know how it might be kind of intimidating/irritating when the shopkeeper tries to talk to you/make comments about what you're browsing? Well, I always found it that way. All in all, it's just the keeper trying to be friendly, not necessarily trying to pressure you into buying something. Ain't nothin' wrong with trying to be nice.

The prices are to die for, especially in DC where most vintage or thrift stores are anything but thrifty. The shop owner, Sylvia, is such a sweet lady. She gave me a great deal on some amazing pieces I would have easily paid double for and still would have walked out thinking I got a good price. Needless to say I will be going back again and again and will do my best to spread the word about this lovely little gem. I am almost a bit hesitant to share this with too many of my friends, as I want to make sure I get all the goodies, but there seemed to be plenty to go around and the shop owner is just too nice and lovely to not help support. Go there - you will find something you love. Great place to buy gifts!!!

I planned to attend (for a colleague) a sale being run by Capital, and I had to come a great distance to do so, so I reached out to find out a bit more as I was spending a bit of time/money to be there. I asked about pricing specifically as if it were going to be very high, I just would stay home. They would not reveal pricing, which is fine, but also would not even hint at the general level of items, which was not helpful as I pointed out that I was making a big commitment to be there. So, hundreds of dollars and many hours later, I arrived for the morning of the sale, which was being held at an offsite location. When we were let in it was painfully obvious that everything was in fact priced very high, in some cases even higher than retail. As we all know, none of us goes to a tag/estate sale to pay retail, we are there for bargains. When I complained about my time and money being wasted, the man I spoke to, who was clearly someone in charge, shrugged his soldiers and would not answer me. I guess it comes down to if you want to run tag sales, then you need to be priced accordingly and be willing to at least be honest about pricing and not waste people's time. Otherwise, just go run a a retail consignment gallery and leave tag sales to actual professionals.

I bought a very cool 80s blazer and love the unique style of it Cons: 1) the place is quite stinky -- everything is musty and I had to immediately take my item to the dry cleaner for fear it might infect my closet. 2) the prices are pretty high. I'm a regular vintage shopper so I'm pretty used to vintage price points -- this is definitely a bit on the higher side (nothing completely absurd, but it did seem steep to me -- and she won't haggle which on some level I understand, her rent is probably quite high in this area) 3) The hours are terrible. The first time I tried to come here, the shop was randomly closed because the owner was on a trip (can't blame her for that, but there was no sign explaining so we stood around for a while trying to figure out if we were even trying the right door because it was completely unmarked) 4) The fitting room is def a weird set up. It's basically just a folding screen she set up in the corner of the store that other shoppers mistake for more clothes so some came way too close to seeing me undressed. All in all, this is a cute vintage store with some great finds. If you're willing to overlook the smell and the higher prices, you'll love it! As a lover of vintage finds, I certainly thought this place was cute, but wanted to note there were some slightly off-putting aspects.

I visited there for the first time today and had selected several items. The saleswoman informed me of the color discounts in effect today. One of items I selected was a hexagonal side table. On to was a sticker with a price of $35 and the words "red sticker!" That meant the sale price was to be 25 percent off $35. I brought the sticker to the saleswoman and informed her that I was interested in the table. I asked if she could keep the sticker so she will know to hold the item when I was ready to pay. She looked confused and then told me that she wasn't sure that was the actual price for the table. I informed her that the sticker was firmly on that table. Later, she started explaining that she wasn't sure that that was the right price for the table because it had been listed on Facebook marketplace by the shop owner for a different price. She scrolled through her phone and found the purported listing for the table, which was priced at about $235. I told her I prefer to pay the price that was on the sticker that had been attached to the table. No other price sticker was on the table. I asked her if she could ask the shop owner who apparently is on vacation. She texted the shop owner and then informed me that the shop owner apparently said the sticker did not belong on that table. I couldn't see the text that she was attempting to show me. And how would I know it's the shop owner? This table was a 70s style piece of furniture that was veneered and had gold metal handles. It definitely was not worth $235. The shop apparently was trying to sell the item on Facebook marketplace as a mid-century modern piece of furniture. The $35 plus the discount was definitely a fair price. At that point, I told the saleswoman that the situation was shady, and I wasn't going to buy anything from the shop. I left.
