I've missed having a convenient location for years since the old Rio location closed. The next closest stand-alone one is in Milestone in Germantown, which isn't wildly far away, but they sometimes seem to have supply issues for certain scents.* This new location in Downtown Crown is near Sephora, across from Coastal Flats and next to the old Zagg storefront (which moved over by UPS). There is a strip of 30 minute street parking available in front, or the garage around the bend from Ruth's Chris if you don't want to fight for space in the surface lot by the Harris Teeter haha I checked online to make sure the scents I was interested in would be in stock (assuming the corporate website was accurate) and headed in for the soap and sanitizer sale they had today. It is such a thoughtfully laid out location, and to say they had plentiful supplies of every type of item is an understatement! Everyone was friendly, and helpful, and when there wasn't any of the vanilla sanitizer out, they voluntarily checked their storage in front and back, and made sure to put more out by rearranging the display. This is the kind of location that will get me in the door more often than I should shop for some of these things, but it was such a joy compared to more stressful times I've had in mall locations, etc. [*Germantown tangent: I had been looking for travel sized Warm Vanilla Sugar all last fall/winter there and they never had it despite having tons of like 3 scents. To my surprise it was offered for store pick-up if I ordered ahead, so that's what I did. They actually never had it, and they game me a full size one for the price of travel instead. Technically a 'win' for me, but why did they never get any travel size of that for the entire season? Ended up going to Montgomery Mall for travel size still after, cause the big tube simply doesn't fit in some of my purses with a wallet and phone haha]

These are the scents you'll be choosing from in the class. The candles are made upstairs. You'll see a sign directing you up there, OR somebody will come down and ask you to wait until some people leave. They book back to back, so people are always coming and going. The two employees stayed busy the whole time we were there. I gotta give them props! It's BYOB so make sure you bring something to sip on while you're making candles. They do provide glasses or you can bring your own. Once upstairs you'll choose your vessel (which style of candle do you want to make). Then you'll choose your scent. They had fall scents when we went. You can mix two scents, but they explain the pros and cons of that. AND you can choose your ratio. Then, you can choose a color if you'd like. I won't go into everything because they'll walk you through it. It's pretty straight up. It was a fun experience. You can even title your candle. They'll provide a label and colored pencils. You can place the label on the side or top. Pretty cool. Lastly, you'll have to come back a minimum of 24-hours later. It needs to set. I've had mine home and got around to burning it. I was hoping the scent would be stronger (or that I could at least smell it). Perhaps my mix settled or something. I'll update this review if I find the scent stronger as I burn it. That's the main thing I search for in a candle; one that burns as strong as it smells. Still, it was something different to do.

Their candles are soy based and have a wooden wick so it's not toxic for you compared to other candle brands. There is a smell for everyone; they have floral smells, sweet smells, fresh scents, and they even had Halloween scents. I would recommend this store to all my candle lovers and you can find a great gift for others as well. The sales rep was friendly and informative! It's a great addition to old town Manassas.
