Our 1920s historic front door lock, supposed to be partly disabled, had a screw crudely driven though it and the interior handle removed so there's just a hole remaining. He ended up using a drill to try to remove it and destroyed my entire ignition and still didn't get the key out. No help trying to help me locate a new one. I had used them to get a key made before..no biggie. But when my car was broken into and the "hidden" spare key stolen I had to get it re-keyed. Insurance dosen't pay for this anymore...and maybe that is what the other 4 business thought would pay so it didn't matter if they gave me a super high quote. A few months back I had the unfortunate issue of having my key stuck in the ignition of my car. I could turn the key off and on, but could not remove it no matter what I tried. Kenville was the best reviewed locksmith in Santa Cruz, but I wasn't sure if they'd be able to work on car ignition locks. I called them over the phone and the guy that spoke to me diagnosed the exact problem based on the year and model of the car and explained what needed to be done without even looking at the thing. I drove it in and was told that there was another project they had to work on first and that it would probably take 3-4 hours to fix, which was fine by me. They called an hour later and told me that my car was fixed and ready for pickup. Wow. And the bill was even less than I was hoping for. Definition of 5-star service. read more

Just bought an older used car and a couple of the locks didn't work and a few did. Just dropped i to this place and the tech came out and fiddled with it a while then cut new keys for me, loosened up the sticky locks and now all four doors, trunk and ignition work good as new!
