We hired these guys twice, they got repeat business because of the great up front communication. Unfortunately the follow through, especially on the second job just wasn't there and I got tired of texting for fixes. Bottom line - we hired them to create a garden space in front of our home that removed the plastic, daylight trees, and fix our driveway to make things easier for us. I'm still finding plastic, and I can't mow around the driveway without getting the mower stuck because the grades are so harsh. BEWARE of this company/person - I won the lawsuit. Update: You can only use scripture successfully when Jesus is a part of your life It's been a nightmare. Repeatedly I said don't cut the hardwoods. They clearcut the land. Adam wasn't around to supervise the first day. He was supposed to plant the bareroot trees I purchased, yet my roommate had to do it. Two of his machines broke down, inoperable for days. He swore he's a man of his word, yet twice said he'll be back and never showed. Simuel Adam Washington aka Redline Outdoor Services, used 5 gallons of our gas to try to light the slash pit fire, never offering to pay for it. He left the job march 25, picked up a broken down machine March 26. The job was not finished. It had been raining for 2 days, so it was too muddy to finish. He was paid in full as I believed he would finish the job when it dried out. However, in the 4 days following, with the ground dry, there was no communication from him. He wouldn't answer my texts, yet the coward he is, he texted my roommate. When my roommate told him he needed to text me, the person who hired him, Samuel Adam Washington sent my roommate an emoji of an axe. The fencing was not completed; the dirt pile they spread out without authorization was never put back; A pile of wood chips was left where they piled it up, his workers clear cut the land, they went behind for they weren't even supposed to be and cut trees down they weren't supposed to cut; They left debris all over the yard; they left a huge slash pit unburned; they didn't remove the stumps that was in the contract and more. I sued him. He got a continuance and later when he was supposed to show up he was in jail. I won the lawsuit. You will regret hiring Redline Outdoor Services/ Simuel Adam Washington. read more

Our fence was falling over after a bad windstorm a few weeks back. Adam was incredibly responsive and had a person out the same day and was ready to get to work on getting our fence fixed and done right by the next day. The previous owner who had had the fence installed never had the posts set in with concrete, so Adam and his guys completely disassembled our fence, set in new (the previous posts were rotted as well) posts with actual concrete, and redesigned the fence to better distribute the weight between the wood panels. While his team was out there, he trimmed down our large trees and removed some wild trees we had taking over the back yard for a very reasonable price. Adam came out to fix an entry door issue and ended up renovating my entire kitchen. I live in an older townhome (built in the 1949s) and it had been a long time rental unit prior to me purchasing. The kitchen door was old, so I decided to close it up and move the back door to the dining room wall. All in all Adam and his crew were fantastic. For each issue found, Adam had someone who could step in and fix it. I'll post pictures later, but Adam renovated: 1. Entire kitchen (moved walls, installed new appliances, added recessed lighting) 2. Moved my basement entrance from the living room to the kitchen 3, Moved back door (to include brickwork to close that door up outside) from kitchen to a sliding glass door with deck 4. Added a dishwasher 5. Added a recessed light in the living room 6. Electrical upgrades from the main breaker to the weird wiring Adam did a fantastic job. As issues arose, he jumped in and addressed them and found solutions quickly. It was a fast decision to go for broke and he made sure I had a working stove for Christmas and reused my cabinets to help me save a little money. Which I promptly spend on beautiful countertops, that Adam was able to find and his crew able to cut to fit and install in a day. Redline did a great job! Quote was done same day as our yelp request. Price was reasonable compared to others. We had one dead redbud removed and two trees trimmed up. Since they were removing the stump of the redbud they also removed two other stumps with it that were there when we moved in (something others were wanting alot of extra money for). Easy to work with , taking many forms of payment, and actually able to use the Yelp messaging system unlike many who will only talk over the phone. This is an update to my previous review of RedLine Outdoor services which now includes a review of Digging in the Dirt Ph.D. It has been almost 2 years in and our relationship remains strong, if not stronger than ever. This family continues to be a bright star, in an often-dark sky for me. With me, it seems that when things happen, I give credence to the phrase when it rains it pours... literally... After a recent water event in my basement, I was absolutely beside myself, and did not know what to do. After having called around to a few businesses with whom I was in contention for attention, and, no feeling very 'confident' with the concern or customer service they provided, I reached out to Adam to see if they could help. His mother responded back within 5 minutes of my text and within 3 hours was at my house with Richard- the man she says has water flowing through his soul... and boy, does he ever!! They rolled up to my house, did a quick survey and within several more minutes, Richard had developed a plan of action that was going to entail him putting in a French drain around my house and, remapping if you will, the trajectory of my landscape. Now I've had a couple of other water events, just not this bad and when I had consulted others, they never even thought of the landscape; said they would just do a French drain. Although Richard said it would take 4-6 days, this Man of Men had it done in 2! And Anne was right out there with them at times, shovel in hand, getting them hands dirty right alongside her men! I just couldn't believe what they did - I'll post pictures when I get them... they left my property in new and improved condition even creating a 'yard' for me!! The property in front of my house had just a few feet of dirt, sparse grass, and mossy area before my trees took over. In order to do what they wanted, Richard said that a lot of it was going to have to be bulldozed... although I am a tree hugger who loves my trees indeed, at this rate, I was like, do what you need... while talking Anne noticed some of my wild Rhododendron growing in the tree line and barked out orders that they were to save that tree!! Which, she replanted in front of the house! Any other company I can see just coming in and doing what need to be done... IF they had even thought of the same thing that Richard did regarding the remapping of my landscape to direct any possible deluges out and away from the house, I imagine they would have just rolled in, tore up what they needed and left. Not Anne and her crew... they actually created a little yard for us. Which, we all actually LOVE. And, she has promised to come back and help us get grass seed planted and things growing. Anne also had Tommie come out and put up some gutters where she felt they were needed. While he was putting on up, I told them about my patio door which was presenting quite the challenge for us to open... we could not keep door handles on it, and, it is very hard to open and close so I thought we needed a new patio door and asked him to measure and quote it for me. Tommie took the extra time to look in to it that day and said he would look in to some things and get back to us. People, let me just tell you, integrity oozes out of every single one of the people at Redline Outdoor Services and Diggin in the Dirt Ph.D. My life is full of trials and tribulations but I have to say that since having met Anne, she has actually become a motivator and a pillar of strength for me. She has lifted me up, kept me up, and served me and my family well. Every person with whom I have been fortunate to meet throughout these repairs is a beautiful, good, kind, caring, professional extremely adept at what they do. I love it. I love Anne. I love Adam. And I love Tommie. And I love Richard. Anyone would be so lucky to work on such an awesome team led by an absolutely phenomenal matriarch and her son. I'm telling you bring these folks on as your personal contractors and you will never regret it. The pricing is fair. The work is done, professionally, efficiently, with care and respect for you and your property. They clean up after themselves and most often go way beyond what is expected. Although they have fixed most major issues with my house, I am sure there are going to be more that arise (You know there will be Anne LOL) however, knowing that Redline and Digging and the whole crew are standing by waiting to assist, gives me a measure of confidence that is very rare to have as a homeowner when it comes to the health, safety and security of your home. read more

Redline is all about helping you find a solution to your problem, even if you don't know what that problem might be. I initially called Redline and other landscapers to get rid of a fruit tree in my backyard that was attracting rats and pests. Adam, the owner, pointed out that nearly all the trees back there were both invasive and rotting, extruding moisture and sap that was attracting rats and many flying insects including mosquitoes and flies. It was the right call - we had nice shade but it was a buffet for pests. So we had all the trees removed, which was a HUGE job, and it was all done within a few days. Next, Adam helped me create rat-proof barriers by digging deep trenches all the way around the yard and dropping down metal mesh fencing to a depth that rats won't burrow under. When some of his crew members didn't do the job right the first time, Adam told me that he won't be hiring those guys again. He came back out personally, and did it all over again, this time with some awesome workers, and doing it perfectly right. About 1-2 weeks after he finished the job, I had inspections from 2 pest companies and at least for now, my yard is rat-free. This is really important to me because I have tenants at the property and they need to feel comfortable in the place they're renting from me! In addition Adam did a ton of other minor landscaping work around my property and I'm glad that he came along when he did. I'd say that we had some minor miscommunications here and there but Adam got a huge job done for me in the hottest month of the year, and solved a massive problem for me. Thanks! read more

Overall, I had a very positive experience with Redline for my residential project, although it was not entirely without challenges. I recommend them. Redline removed diseased and dead plants and trees. They re-sodded my yard. They recommended and planted many colorful and fragrant plants and flowers. They trimmed large branches to let more light into the garden. A few neighbors have even commented on the improvements. Beyond landscaping, they also cleaned my gutters, which were filthy, clogged with years of debris, and causing flooding. What's more, they also corrected the pitch of the gutters, and installed new gutter guards. When one of the gutters still leaked, the returned and fixed it. While up on the roof for the gutters, they even cleaned debris and informally inspected it for standing water and leaks. I was impressed. You can expect the Redline crew to be fast, friendly, knowledgable, and professional. I'll post an update in a few weeks - after the new grass and plants grow and prove to be healthy, but I'm sure Redline will warranty their work. My only complaint is that the Redline crew can be difficult to reach, and they sometimes promise to come and then don't show up (or they show up late). In my case, the work wasn't urgent, so this was irritating, but didn't affect the outcome. I believe this complaint stems from the fact that residential jobs are a "sideline" and most of their work is commercial. So when a large commercial job comes up, the smaller residential customers experience delays. Bottom line - If your project has flexible dates or if you can deal with delays, then you should definitely consider Redline. They do very good work and you won't be disappointed. read more

Adam responded back to my request and we scheduled an appointment to come out and measure. He didn't show up to the appointment and didn't call to let me know he wasn't coming. I canceled plans to be available for the appointment. We rescheduled the appointment and he no-showed again and, again, did not communicate that with me. Adam and his mother who helps him were great. Family business which I love to support. Our fence around the pool was definitely starting to wither and I had sever quotes from other companies that said we need to replace the whole fence. I didn't feel like that was the play nor did I budget this year for an extra $25k to put in a new fence. Contracted Redline to build us part of a fence. The gate barely works and the lattice topping is crooked and uneven. There is also a wood panel on the fence that is hanging off, flapping in the wind. I was told they'd come abd attach something to the gate to avoid sagging. That never happened. I was told the lattice would be fixed. It's not. Then I was given their sub-contractor's contact info to work directly with him (not sure why that's now my responsibility). They assured me their sub-contractor would contact me, but they never did. We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Redline in taking down a huge dead tree that could have fallen on our house, our neighbors' house, or any of our cars or kids. So, I haven't written a Yelp review in God knows how long because of this panoramic (yes, did that on purpose) keeping me trapped in my house for a year.
