Ok, with a name like Redneck Gourmet, I had to stop in. It was a little early for lunch, so it wasn't very busy yet--and honestly, I wasn't even that hungry. But I ended up ordering the fried chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. It came out pretty quickly, which I appreciated. And it was big--like really big. I ate about half and that was more than enough. The honey mustard is homemade and so flavorful... definitely the standout. You order at the counter and there's plenty of seating inside, plus a few tables outside along the sidewalk. It's right across from the courthouse, which makes for a really nice setting. You can also see straight into the kitchen behind the counter, which I always like. It's not a fancy place at all--in a good way. Most of the people coming in looked like they were just on their lunch break, and it had that easy, local feel. The woman behind the counter was really friendly and helped me pick between a few options. By the time I left, the place was starting to get packed, so clearly it's a popular spot. The sandwiches and burgers I saw coming out looked really solid too, so if I'm ever back in the area, I'd want to try one of those. read more

First time visiting historic downtown Newnan. Walking by the outside of the restaurant was a little hard to tell what Redneck Gourmet was all about. Walked into her spacious casual dining atmosphere. The menu board was a nice big modern graphics driven and easy read. The menu is focused on American cuisine with sandwiches hamburger special hotdog hoagies and a good variety of salad. Chili was excellent. Would recommend it to those and enjoy chili chili. Both salad were more than we could finish, (I was here with my spouse). Prices were very reasonable for the volume quality. All of staff were approachable and friendly. Placed your order, get a table number, and the server brings out your food. Kind of reminds me of Culver. Didn't have room to try the homemade poundcake or the fresh bake cookies. But they look very yummy. Definitely worth a visit when you're in the mood for casual American dining. read more

I'm absolutely love this restaurant! The food is always amazing and the people are very friendly. I always get the club sandwich but my family has loved everything they have tried there! This is my favorite restaurant in the little square area...I just wish parking was better (which is not their fault at all lol). Try this place if you haven't because it's so yummy! They lost regular customers today who tip well. We are gluten intolerant (I more sensitive than my daughters). I waited outside with dogs as usual and my daughters order grilled chicken strips with fries. They came out with breaded fried Chicken. My daughter who orders said she said grilled. I did say she is soft spoken. The waitress said no problem that she would get grilled then came out eating crow saying that they can't and basically calling my daughter a liar that the one who took the order said she ordered fried. They always order grilled there. This is not how you treat regular customers in this bad economy where everyone is going to have to tighten their purse strings. The customer lady coming out talking to me who overheard mentioned a previous manager there would have never let this happen. I was trying to be kind to take a little responsibility that my daughter was a little soft spoken but that is no excuse to treat us so bad and not pay for their mistake. I was trying to be kind to soften things, but they should be asking customers whether they want it grilled or fried. I never get treated like that at other restaurants. If there was a mistake they always replace the food. They correct the mistake and please the customer. I will not allow my daughters to eat there anymore, unless they seeing us walking our dogs again and apologize with a free meal; the one they actually ordered. read more

$32.74 for a Philly Cheesesteak, fries, a Texas dog and a Coke lunch with my wife. Texas dog was supposed to be a 1/4 lb. dog smothered in chili, cheese, and jalapeños. It came out cold, the cheese wasn't melted, the chili wasn't seasoned, had no flavor and was cold. The sliced jalapenos came right from the jar cold. We had a couple of hours to kill in the Newnan area while a car was being serviced at a dealership. Since it was around lunchtime on a Saturday, we opted for an early lunch. This place is located right on one corner of the square in downtown Newnan. There is street parking adjacent to it, or you can park in a free town/county lot a block or so away. They have a few tables for dining on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. They also have a large dining room inside. You enter and then proceed to the back of the restaurant to the order-counter. They have a large menu board above it. You make your selection, get a number, and they bring the food out to you. The only confusing aspect of the whole process to me was getting my drink (water). Normally, I assume there is one of the soda dispensers with a small tab that lets me get the water. I looked twice, but there was not one here on either set of dispensers. I was momentarily puzzled, until I actually read the labels - one of them was actually *for* water! I got a BLT and enjoyed it. There was nothing fancy or unusual about it They just toasted the bread and did a good ratio of the ingredients. I'm surprised at how many places can find a way to mess up (to some degree) a BLT... My wife got a chicken (salad?) sandwich and enjoyed it also. She skipped a side, but I got chips with mine. We had somehow never tried this place in the last couple of years, but enjoyed it enough to consider a return visit. read more

GREAT sausage egg and cheese biscuit! Cheese grits were good but mediocre. Love this hometown country feel. Stopped in for a quick bite on a road trip and was pleasantly surprised. In the middle of a cute town, and it filled our wants for a light option for me and a burger for him. I had the daily special, Miss Daisy... a spin on the classic BLT, made with bacon, lettuce, a fried green tomato and pimento cheese. The fried green tomato was perfection!! Stopped by after visiting a flea market held in a pasture. The flea market sucked . Figured we find a place to eat since we drove over an hour to visit the lackluster sorry as hell flea market!!! Plugged in places to eat and this came up. Have to say this was a great choice! After walking the square we grabbed lunch here. The service was very friendly and helpful. Redneck Gourmet is one of our favorite local places in downtown Newnan. Our favorite waitress is Jeanie. We try to go on days we know she is working just so we can catch up. There is something heartwarming about her knowing our names. She also understands that we will always need a little extra homemade Ranch. We go here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on a pretty consistent basis. If you ever visit for breakfast, make sure you get their pancakes. They are the best ones you will get in Newnan. For lunch, I always prefer their BLT sandwich on white bread (not toasted) with fries and Ranch. For dinner, they have some of the best bacon cheeseburgers in Newnan. They are seasoned so well, you really won't need any condiments. My husband loves to get their hotdogs or grilled cheese sandwiches. Their onion rings are also the best in Newnan although I do usually add a little salt. Ask for them to make them well done and definitely get two cups of the Ranch. If you have room for dessert, try the Kahlua Crunch. It's tiny but great! If you're ever in the small town of Newnan, this is one of the favorite local spots. Eat breakfast or lunch and visit the little shops on the square. It makes for a great date. You will feel like you stepped into a Hallmark movie. read more

For instance: The BLT was the smallest white bread pieces, very tiny amount of mayo with 2 pieces over cooked bacon that was falling apart because it WAS MICROWAVED! Coming back from Griffin, we decided to stop at the cute little town on Newnan for lunch. There appears to be lots of restaurants in this little town - we chose Redneck Gourmet because it looked inviting and we loved the name. We were not disappointed... the food was great! The best onion rings I have ever had! They were not greasy and stayed together when you bit into them... meaning the onion stayed put and did not pull out of the batter and the onion was sweet... these were off the chain! We had a pimento cheese sandwich with yummy homemade pimento cheese, a side of homemade macaroni salad that had a little bit of pimento cheese as well and a homemade chicken salad croissant with the onion rings AND we each had a homemade oatmeal cranberry cookie (I forgot to take a pic of the cookie!). Went to RG today for the second time in as many years. It's still good. I had the Philly Cheese Steak with a side of Onion rings. Onion rings were very good, no complaints. The PCS was rather unimaginative, so I ate half & took half home, where I added mayo & improved it quite a bit. I wouldn't order it again; I'd like to give the many other entrees a chance. My only nag about RG is that about 1/3 of the tables needed bussing! Stopped in for midmorning breakfast on a Friday. It was quite busy with a handful of tables open. 3 in front of us to order. Everything is made when ordered and I appreciate that. It's always hot and yummy. Every empty table was visibly dirty. We sat at one and used a napkin to push crumbs to the other side. The food came out quickly. While we waited the bus boy cleared tables but didn't wipe them down which I found odd. Why clean a table off but not clean the actual table? 3 different staff members walked through and not one of them thought to clean the tables either. I'm not sure why that irritated me so much, but it did. Before we left 2 of the staff members were eating in the kitchen, maybe they didn't even want to sit at the dirty tables. read more

I've tried this place at least 5 times, trying something different each time and every time I am highly disappointed. If you like grease soaked bread on nearly every sandwich option, this place is for you! First, the sides- Fries are your average run of the mill fries, if you are lucky they will arrive moderately warm. Onion rings are huge and my usual choice but they often cold and soaked in oil. The Greek pasta salad and macaroni salads are quite bland and the Redneck Caviar looks like regurgitated food. The hot dogs are one of the only good items but at $9 for one dog, it's not worth it! The burgers carry their weight but Meat N Greet right across the street stomps them in flavor, quality and price. I really wanted to like this tourist trap and gave it quite a few tries over the years but I'm just not impressed with the food, the staff or the cleanliness of the place. We were headed to eat at a place we have eaten before when in town and a few ladies walking by suggested we try the Redneck Gourmet because the Meet n Greet wasn't open today. This was our first time here at Redneck gourmet. The outside was intriguing, but the smells are what pulled us in. It was about 10:00 a.m it wasn't terribly busy and the decor was laid back and welcoming. The menu had quite the variety we were greeted by a gentlemen who was very nice and accommodating. By that I mean he was able to adjust our food modifications to my fiancé's diet. That made us very happy. We had the veggie omelet, Paul Bunyan, added a pancake and a freshly brewed hot coffee. The food was yummy and decent sized portions for the price. Very reasonably priced I would say. I recommend the veggie omelet and pancakes. Not sure why the restaurant is called Redneck Gourmet. It's a pretty standard sandwich shop, with the usual sandwiches you'd find on any lunch menu. There are a few southern dishes but not the whole menu. I had the chicken salad sandwich which was nothing to write home about. A little dry but the flavor was good. read more
