We checked out this place on an annual friends trip to RRG, and we were so glad we did! Our server was super sweet and helped us find a comfortable table outside despite the somewhat chilly weather. Drinks came fairly fast- except beers were slow to arrive. Everyone enjoyed the wing appetizer. Overall the favorite entree was definitely the brisket-- so tender! Our favorite sides were the mac and cheese and the broccoli salad. Skip the coleslaw (not our fav) and corn grit bread (very dense- needs honey I think!) My one small complaint-- when we tried to split the bill, the server needed us to list off our order again. Not the most efficient :( read more

This place is a great addition to the Red River Gorge! It's the perfect place to hang out after hiking or climbing. The restaurant interior is really comfortable and cute, and the patio has a great view. Most importantly, the food and bourbon cocktails are fantastic, and you receive large portions for the price! The brisket is really good quality, and my friends and I raved about these sides: broccoli slaw (healthy!), sweet potatoes, and the Mac and cheese. So good! Portion sizes are great and most of their meats are gluten free. They say their cornbread is gluten free but it is fried in the same fryer as other gluten containing items. Just be careful if you have an allergy or celiac. They also source locally and make everything in house from scratch. First order was a full slab of bbq ribs with sweet potato and broccoli salad. These ribs were perfect! Crispy rub on the outside and fall off the bone moist on the inside. Absolutely incredible and a huge amount. The sides of sweet potatoes were fantastic. Perfectly cooked and smothered in a sweet butter glaze and the broccoli salad was spot on. Fresh, delicious and perfectly balanced with cranberries, pecans and dressing. Every bite was full of incredible flavor that excited the palate for more. The next order was grilled chicken, sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese. Wow! The chicken was perfectly grilled to deliver a smooth smoked grilled flavor to accent the moist chicken hiding inside every bite. The sweet potatoes were perfectly cooked and smothered in a sweet butter glaze and then the Mac and Cheese was to the moon! A full flavor cheesy goodness that is rarely accomplished by restaurant versions! The amount of food was nothing less than incredible. So glad we didn't because it was some of the best brisket we've ever had. Although my spouse was skeptical on my pick of the squash as a side he even agreed it was so good. Wow. I don't know where to start. The service was amazing, considering we walked in with 11 people, and they had us seated fairly quickly, considering that. The staff was awesome working together to get our drinks and orders in. You can tell they have a great team. Now the best part is the food. We had the grilled chicken wings, which, to be honest, were some of the best wings I've ever had. Smoked to perfection and not only that the garnish they included was like pickled onion and cucumber and to say the least the plate went back clean. We all had something different, but the brisket was so tender that I cut it with a fork, and every bite I tried to pick up was falling apart. I had the baked beans and Cole slaw, which were perfectly sauced and not too wet. My wife, who I just married at creation falls before we got there, had the brisket also but got the sweet potatoes and broccoli salad and let me tell you I was jealous I didn't get the sweet potatoes. My 14yo son had the hot chicken, and he loved it, and my 5 yo got the chicken tenders, surprise, surprise, but seemed to enjoy them as well. I know he loved the mac and cheese he got because he said it tasted just like Granny's, and trust me, that's a compliment. Price was just right for what we got, and the value was definitely there considering the quality and portion sizes. 10 out of 10 for sure! We stumbled upon this place for some late night dinner after a day of climbing in the RRG. It was actually one of only a few places open past 9pm but be aware -- they operate only Thursday through Sunday. Off the beaten path & at first we thought we were intruding on someone's private property. Turns out you need to drive a little further to reach this gem! Great meat and vegetarian options, as well as tasty cocktails. We ordered the hot chicken tenders with mac n cheese & corn bread and the portobello mushroom with mac n cheese & corn bread. The portobello was honestly one of the best I've ever had and I've lived in both SF and LA where the food game is strong! The back patio was beautiful, even at 9pm.
