If no one is smoking, this place has a great vibe. I had a Budweiser. My wife had a watermelon-something cocktail, and thought it was delicious. The band was cool, so make sure you have some cash to put in the bucket that gets passed around --especially since there's no cover.

The singer said "Keep drinking, it gets better!"

Great Blues venu, as authentic as they come! This is the real deal, once in you are transported to the era of Blues' greats. The band is amazing, and the combination of the music, the old brick walls, old pictures, and the patina on the bar counter and tables give the place a unique vibe, hard to describe, it's an experience you have to live to understand. I absolutely recommend this place, don't leave Memphis without having lived this experience!

Blues Hall is the best place to hang out if you appreciate gritty awesome music. Be sure to get there early to claim your seat. The food is excellent and staff is really cool.

If you want to hear some amazing music this is the place to go! I went here with some colleagues after a retreat and we fell in love with the live band that had a singing drummer. They performed some of my favorites including Prince and Journey. I loved! It was exceptional. Great drinks, cool crowd, very very exciting establishment.

Stopped in at the Blues Hall recently and had a good, but brief visit. The staff were super. Neat old blues bar atmosphere. The young man playing guitar and singer was pretty good too!

Maybe it was the band or the acoustics, maybe the nostalgia, whatever it was we sat down and 3 hours passed in a flash. If you are going to Beale St. for the blues you have to make a stop at the Juke Joint Blues Hall.

One of the Best places on Beal Street! This is the Heart of real Live Memphis Blues Rock. Part of the Rum Boogie Club it is still stands by its self. Food is good but better to eat in the Boogie and suck up the juice in the Blues Hall. Bartenders in the Juke are tops, they keep you topped off and are always ready to do for you. So tip them Well! And if Jeremy is working that's my Boy Tip him REAL WELL!!! Live Music!!! In the Hall you are with the band when they play. The Hall is a wonderful strip and real personal. When the band go's on brake they will come to meet you! Some of the Best Bands that are Patrick Dodd Trio, Darren J Band and the rest of the lineup will not let you down! Patrick Dodd Trio, is a must see, so if you love Music Do not Miss Patrick if you do it is a life blunder! Patrick Dodd on vocals will bring you back time and time again. This guy has real Soul and his Heart is made of Gold! Landon Moore can play the bass like I've never seen anyone do before! He could keep up with the best! Harry Peel on Drums brings the past to life in Future Blues!! If you see anything on Beal Street Patrick Dodd Trio should be on the top of your list! http://www.patrickdoddtrio.com/ Darren J Band puts the Fire in the Hall! When you're in the Hall with this Band You feel like it's you and just the band. Darren Falls Mother gave birth to him and his guitar, you have to think her for this! Laura Cupit on Bass makes you feel like Wonder Woman has taken over the stage. Playing with the real fire of sex and a bass sound you have got to feel!!! W.C. Garrison on Drums sets the beat for the show, You will truly enjoy what he brings... So Don't forget the DRUMER!! Tell Harry too!! http://www.darrenj.com/home.cfm Now if you thank that's all they got for live music you have your head under a rock! But with all that said James watches the Door. Tip him when you can, he will make sure the door is safe and if anyone gets in the way of your good time, James can take care of that too!!!

Well, I hate doing two star reviews. This was definitely a night. I won't soon forget. When we…read morearrived, parking was horrible. The pay parking lot for Minglewood Hall was completely full. The pay lots all around minglewood hall were also full. We drove two blocks in each direction and was having trouble trying to find somewhere to park. We finally seen other people parking at a closed Baskin And Robbins, one street over. We didn't see any no parking signs. This was gonna be our only option. By the time we got parked and in line. It was getting very close to show time. There was a line out the door and it was moving very slow. They were having trouble scanning tickets. Their scanners were not working, so they were sending people to a window, to get paper tickets. We finally got in and seated. The show obviously started a little late. I have only been to Minglewood Hall one other time and my experience then was also less than stellar. The seating was just fold up chairs. They were so uncomfortable! A tallboy beer was $12! My son and I both love Brad Williams. I figured it would be a great to spend some time with him and see a good show. Although Brad Williams and his openers were great! This would turn out to be quite a bad night for us. When the show was over, we headed out to where we had parked. As we were getting close to the car, we seen about 20 other people. They were just standing aroung in the cold looking confused. At that point, we realized all the cars had been towed. In my opinion, this is why people don't come to Memphis for shows or anything. Way to much greed! The parking always sucks! Come to find out PB & J towing sits around the corner and waits on everyone to enter the show. Then they start towing people. If you do a quick search for them on here, you will see that they are very predatory in their practice. They have been sued and reprimanded by the BBB. I'm not sure how a place like this continues to do business in Memphis. That will be for another upcoming review. I know this is not completely Minglewood Hall's fault. But if you know, you don't have enough parking for the amount of sold tickets. You should try to work with your neighbors or warn people. I mean, come on, it was a Sunday night! The Baskin-Robbins was closed. We looked around and finally seen two very small signs on the other side of the lot that just said PB & J towing with a number. When you call the number, it just goes to a voicemail or disconnects. They are closed on Sundays! We had to Uber all the way back to Southaven, Mississippi. The Uber driver told us this is a every weekend thing. He picks people up all the time from PB&J towing in this area. Needless to say, I won't be going back to Minglewood Hall for anything. This ended up being a very expensive night!

I purchased "seated" tickets though and there were no seats, so I'm not sure what that's about. During big shows at least, they do charge for parking and it's like $20, which I think is a bit much, but whatever. We had 2 back to back concerts here in a single week and enjoyed it, but wish we could have had some sort of seating since we paid for "seated tickets" because my husband had a back injury so I paid extra for "seats".

My wife got us tickets to see Gary Owen because she knows how much I love seeing him. The show was absolutely great and she picked some very good seats. I did feel like he cut the show just a little short. There's always that one drunk person that wants to yell out from the crowd. I think it was starting to irritating. What can you say about the orpheum? That hasn't already been said. It's a very nice historical place. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars. Is because like everyone else, they take advantage of people on concessions. I realized back in the day. This is the way places made their money. It's a little different these days. They make plenty of money on the shows. My other small complaint is the seating. Although its way better than Minglewood Hall, the seats are just too close together. I'm a big fella, and it's just very uncomfortable. Overall, they put on great shows and the place is very nice. I definitely wouldn't let the small things stop you from going.
