I can't thank Red and all the lovely people that make the whole of Red's Studio enough for helping to cultivate a safe and amazing place to learn and practice in. It's rare that you get to find somewhere where you feel comfortable doing the uncomfortable work of not only the physical but also the emotional and psychological aspects that come with the art of movement. The atmosphere I've personally experienced has always been so much fun and nothing short of uplifting. From the different instructors, fellow patrons, to Red herself, I've always felt extremely welcomed and rooted for to succeed during my pole journey as a 5' 9'' 230 lb plus size (over 45 year old) woman. Being surrounded by likeminded individuals who run the gamut of levels of expertise in a single room at any given moment is awe inspiring and keeps me coming back to try to reach my own mini goals along the way. There is something extremely special that happens when you're guided by someone like Red. She has a gift in seeing what you don't yet quite see in yourself; it's empowering, addicting and truly transformative. I am forever grateful to her and her high levels of compassion, adaptability, patience, attention to detail, instruction and overall passion for her craft, community and humanity. To allow yourself to be immersed in any discipline is hard and challenging, but it's also just as rewarding. My self esteem has sky rocketed even while choosing to participate at Beginner/All Levels classes (I LOVE my Open Gym time too!!). I've come to realize and understand that it's not a race and the real joy in development in any craft is in the small nuanced details that are gained with taking one's time. Doing so has helped to open so many doors in the ongoing maintenance of my own inner healing. I am so grateful and happy to have taken a chance on Red's Studio. Pole has seen me doing things I never thought I'd do. Things such as taking a long seeded dream I had of performing live on stage into FULL FRUITION!! In counting, I already have 2 showcases under my belt in a short time frame (more on the way) and I definitely have Red and her Team to thank for that. I found Red's Studio on TikTok. For a gift my BF bought me a class. I started in April of this year, and since that day I have been obsessed! When you enter it give speakeasy vibes, with the studio in the back of the shop. I am so blessed and grateful to be instructed, by Red, she has pushed me past my limits of self belief, she has made me feel so much more confident in my self capability. Now I want to try the other classes to get even better. Since my first class I haven't missed and notice so much more growth in my pole skills. She provides mats for the scary tricks and tripod to help you keep track of your progress. This studio is all types of humans welcomed. Pole Fitness and trying new things can be super scary and intimidating. But if you choose Red's studio to do it at, you'll feel welcomed and motivated the minute you walk in. All of the instructors are knowledgeable and work at the pace that you're at. I really enjoy how they challenge you when they see that you can do something and they also celebrate every milestone or accomplishment you make on the pole and no matter how big or small. My honest review: I am an instructor at the studio, which I sought out when I was looking for a studio that had midnight ballerinas teaching pole. I was stagnant in my pole journey and I was seeking to learn how to teach (I'm a dance major and have always wanted to own my own studio). I found Red and her studio in Huntington Park when I moved to Downey so it's only 20-30 minutes away. She had everything I was looking for: mentorship to teach, classes every day all day, and a community where I felt connected and safe. I've never been a skinny woman I'm definitely a chubby gal. Red has taught all the classes every day 7 days a week and has mentored many of us into teaching who sought that out. Her studio is well thought out and she has built her business by herself. In return, as a Red Studio student and teacher she has given many opportunities for us like allowing me to create a Pilates program after I went back to school for mat Pilates certification. I am also a first time mom and have twins and she has allowed me to host mommy & me events without charging me an event rental fee. The owner is far from pompous, stuck up, or money hungry. She is the most affordable pole studio and refuses to increase prices even though us regulars have encouraged her to do so. I am writing this review as an instructor, but also in response to the 1 star review from Cindy G. Which is an alias and is left by a person who used to work at the studio but never taught because she wouldn't show up for her own class. She has messaged current studio clients in attempt to poach them at her current studio of employment to join her competition team when we are a competing studio. This place is amazing to learn pole! I already have a year + with the studio because of how amazing the owner and studio is ! As you enter the studio Red has merch in case you're in need of shorts, hoodies, shirts...A little couch and seats to sit on in case you are waiting, bikinis, grip and a corner filled with equipment (fall mats, yoga mats, tripods, weights, etc)!!! The doorway from the little lobby she has leads to the studio! Where the magic happensthere are 6 poles... so you get so much more attention compared to other studios & it's a more comfortable setting! I've seen so many new girls show up recently & THEY STAY SHOWING UP so it says a lot about the owner and her classes! HER CLASSES ARE SO AFFORDABLE & THERES ALWAYS PARKING! First time doing anything like this, had no idea what to expect and nervous I wouldn't be able to keep up. I went with 2 other girls (we're all different body shapes & strength lol) she made us all feel comfortable and motivated us to do what we thought we couldn't and to have done that, it had me gain so much confidence & I felt sooooo sexy in my own skin.
