We brought a field trip of 10 kiddos here, all of which had their own "spending money". The theatre is cash free, so we spent some time adding our cash into the machine and turning it into a spending card. The kids went back and fourth many times to reload money to have enough causing the workers to have to have patience (an extreme amount should I mention), and they had just that. They were so kind and respectful to our little ones that were so excited. I don't remember all of their names, but Jason took care of half our group and I want to say the other employee was Felia. My friends and I were so excited to come here to watch the premier of Barbie!! I didn't have super high expectations for the theater, as it was the premier night of an extremely popular movie and I've been here before and know it is a typical small town theater, nothing super special. When we arrived, there was a long line for the concessions, but it moved surprisingly quickly. The employees were all nice and working hard to serve everyone. We ordered popcorn and icees, and all the icee flavors were available. The popcorn tasted delicious with all the butter on top. The icees were delicious as well. After we grabbed our snacks, we walked into the theater. When we got to our assigned seats, myself and one of my friend's seats had a big gap between the bottom of the chair and the back. I easily sunk into this, it was uncomfortable. It would have been okay if we were taller. I have not had a big gap in my seat at this theater ever before, so I think something was wrong with just these 2 seats. It was super uncomfortable after about 15 minutes. Luckily, no one was sitting next to my group, so I just moved to the empty seat next to my group for the remainder of the movie. The seat was better but still my friends and I agreed the seats were just generally overall uncomfortable. Overall, we enjoyed the snacks and the movie, as well as the good customer service. We just were pretty unimpressed with the uncomfortable seating. read more

UPDATE MAY 2017: I just got out of the 8:00 pm 3D showing of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" on Thursday, May 25, 2017. The projection was absolutely horrendous, as it appeared that the images and colors were bleached out and it was as if there was a thin layer of Vaseline over the projector. I had to leave the movie to go to the lobby and find the manager. I asked if he could please check the projection and adjust the contrast on the images and he looked at me blankly and said "oh, we've been having problems with that projector." That's it. That's all the man said! I went back into the theater and suffered through the atrocious projection and it seriously diminished my enjoyment of a very visual-effects heavy film. I'm hoping corporate will send somebody get that projector fixed in theater #8. I left with the feeling that the problem had been going on for a long time and that future screenings would be projected with the awful washed out problem. After the movie was over, I went back into the lobby in an attempt to locate the manger -- or ANY employee -- to lodge yet another complaint and to give the staff an opportunity to make it right, but there was NOBODY to be found ANYWHERE. The staff had completely shut down the theater and nobody was around! I waited in the lobby for about 15 minutes and not one single person ever appeared. It is now 10:45 pm and I have given up. ----------- So a LOT of things have changed since my first review, written in 2013! I had to come back and update it because this theater has gown so far downhill that it's one that desperately needs some corporate intervention. I do love that this theater is used during the Sundance Film Festival, and it's a great venue for the festival but not for a normal night out at the movies. CONDITION: Some of the screens have a bit of damage, the bathrooms have broken doors, handles, and out of order signs on toilets that have been there for years. The theaters have some broken seats, and they are old school (don't recline at all) and are very uncomfortable. Time to replace the seats, guys. SNACK BAR: The popcorn is not longer delicious, and they've switched over from Coke to Pepsi at the snack bar. Tonight I went to see a movie and the large Diet Dr. Pepper I was served tasted MOLDY, which is never a good sign as to the cleanliness and sanitary practices of a business. It was super nasty. I bought a large so I could get a free refill, but as has been the case the last half dozen times, the employees have decided to close the snack bar so I can't get a refill! This makes me SO ANGRY and it's ridiculous and very upsetting. SERVICE: The employees are friendly enough but they aren't the cream of the crop here. I feel the need to mention once again the fact that they always close the snack bar early so you can't take advantage of your free refills on your drinks and popcorn. Smells like a scam, or it at least feels like one. I'm still happy there's a theater at Redstone, but I'm pleading with corporate to swoop in and pay attention to this location. As a movie nerd who attends the theater at least 5 times per week, trust me on this: it needs help. read more

Great small town Theater. The GM, Preston is very helpful and Professional, he's always willing to help his staff with tickets and concessions even when it's not busy. I have personally witnessed him be overly helpful & kind with the elderly customers. He seems to keep the theater together & I'm not sure how things would be ran if he wasn't there. The lobby, bathrooms and theaters are always clean. There is plenty of parking as well. We always have a great experience here with all the staff. We visit regularly and happy to support this small business. read more

Finally after another one of my family members asked the manager responded. The theater was clean and so was the lobby. They don't offer many varieties for icees. The movie was great. If you are thinking about going here think twice this place is older than your grandma and the seats are all blown out and uncomfortable. Needs a major renovation. Feels really dirty and some seats cannot be used because they need to be reupholstered. The main doors/glass windows so dirty, it looks like the theater is out of business! Very small and modestly appointed theater. Seats are in desperate need of an upgrade, especially the armrests. Ugh. The picture was washed out at first but my eyes either adjusted lol or it was fine for the actual movie. Previews were the worst. It was a spur of the moment kinda visit here so I won't be coming back but it wasn't too costly and staff were all friendly. Just got a drink and I had my water so no issues at concessions. Stay away! This theater has never been clean in it's ten years of being open. Everything is dirty with zero attempts to ever take care of it. The theaters are tiny, the seats are ripped and have stains on them. The seats are sticky, the floors are sticky, the arm rests are sticky, catching on to the theme? The bathrooms aren't any better, where I feel like I have to wash my hands again after leaving. Their screens are filthy and I'm sure the projectors haven't been dusted in forever. They staff opened the doors and brought in garbage cans a full 20 minutes before the film was over which was obtrusive. The service here last night was so great that I actually downloaded Yelp in order to right this review! When I got there it was super busy and i waited in line and was helped by a young man who was clearly a little stressed as he was on the phone, making a new batch of popcorn and completing someone's order. However through all of this he managed to give me a smile, and tell me that he'd be with me in a moment. This made my night because it truly showed I was getting the best service! Towards the end of our ski week in Park City, UT, we watched "Battle: Los Angeles" at this movie theater. We had a quick dinner and drove to this theater. It was a bit further down the road than I thought (about 5 to 6 miles from Park City ski resort). It's in the same complex as the Whole Foods. It seems newer than the Cinemark Holiday Village 4 movie theater closer to the Park City Mountain Resort. It was $8.00 for an adult to watch a movie here. They have stadium seating and the theater/bathrooms were clean. I didn't get a chance to try their popcorn, but I would have liked to. While we watched the movie, snow was falling outside and when we got back to our car, there was about 2-3 inches of snow on it. I got a chance to drive back to our condo in the snow, which was interesting and fun. Xie Xie! read more

Zero stars! This is the disappointed yelp of a hungry, game-loving dog who has recently been kicked by the managerial piggishness of a local movie theatre. Oh, President Coriolanus Snow would be so proud... Purchased two tickets about an hour before the final showing of a much anticipated film on opening night. As expected, a line had already formed. Counted about 30 people ahead of us so was excited at the prospect of securing good seats based on this fact. So far so good. As we walked into the theater, people scrambled for seats like a game of musical chairs. This would have been fine except that two ladies had "reserved" almost two entire rows of seats. Not just any seats, these were prime seats-- literally the two center-most rows of the theater. There was masking tape strung across the seats along with a couple purple post-it notes with the words "reserved" written on them. I fell into the trap of walking down one of these rows and being accosted by these ladies. They seemed desperate as they informed me that the seats were reserved by management. By the time I had finished our polite discussion about the reserved seating, the theater was filled with only a few lone cobweb-covered seats located in the most distant corners of the universe. Another couple also fell prey to the same temporal quicksand of walking along the other reserved row as the theater quickly filled up, which resulted in losing the chance to sit with our dates anywhere else together. It wasn't just us, a lot of other people were being shot down by these ladies. When people confronted the ladies about them blocking off the seats, they just kept crushing expectations and insisting that it had been approved by management. Someone went and got the manager. The manager came in and confirmed that the (still empty) masking taped seats were, in fact, reserved under his authority. This was in spite of the fact that, by this time, the rest of the theater was basically full. Another similarly disappointed couple (who were obviously also on a date night) requested a refund. The manager grudgingly obliged. We all walked back to the ticket counter as someone quipped that if we hurried with the refunds the liquor store would still be open for a few more minutes. As a side note, I noticed the manager's assistant wrote the words "too crowded" on our tickets as the reason for the refund. She should have written "greedy manager reserved the two most prime rows of seats for opening night and didn't bother to tell anyone." The manager clarified the seating policy as he refunded our tickets: (paraphrasing from memory) Patron: "Please help us understand the seat reservation policy. Is it first come first serve? Or can you reserve seats ahead of time?" Manager: "It's first come, first serve." Patron: "How did those ladies come to reserve almost two entire rows of seats?" Manager: "They bought tickets for those seats ahead of time." Patron: "What's the minimum? Can I block off a couple seats by buying tickets for them ahead of time?" Manager: "Like I said, we don't save seats. But if you buy 14 tickets then we will take care of you." Patron: "Okay so just to be clear its first come first serve. But an exception is made if you buy 14 tickets?" Manager: "If thats how you want to look at it then yeah." Patron: "okay, thanks for the clarification." Manager: "Here is your refund. See you again soon." Yeah. right. I would sooner allow Tracker Jackers to sting me than ever again buy tickets to a film on opening night at Redstone 8 Cinemas. read more

A pretty good quality theater that could probably use a better staff. The screens themselves are nice, and the sound is great, but the staff can definitely drop the ball sometimes. Often times movies start a few minutes late and when they do, they're out of focus or the sound is messed up-sometimes the prints are even scratched. They could also do a much better job of cleaning-the last time I was here, I was seeing a movie that was at probably 80% capacity, but the floor where we were sitting was totally sticky from a spilled soda that the people cleaning minutes before neglected to mop up. Not pleasant. Overall, the Redstone 8 is not the best movie theater, but it's worth a trip if you're in Park City, as it'll be the only place in town to play certain movies. read more

Its really never looked clean and I think the first movie I saw there was Avatar, so they've had the time. they only reason people go there is that its the closest theater, so they get away with not caring about the quality of the place at all. This is an old and not well taken care of theater. It's obviously not cleaned well as there is still popcorn on the floor when you walk in. The seats are all old and fraying and the theater is overly cold. The benefit is that there is enough leg room when sitting and a decent number of seats in the theater. I can't talk about the snacks because I didn't try them but the cost of a ticket in the middle of the afternoon is $7.25 which they bump up to 9.25 or so during the evening. Since this is the only theater in the kimball junction area it isn't a bad option but I would try one of the theaters in park city before going to this one. read more

So the first visiting this place for a film was to see Spectre. The theater was freezing..no heat on and the seats terribly stiff and uncomfortable. Finally I complained and they turned on the heat 3/4 of the way through. 2nd...was today. Went to see Star Wars. This time the room was warm but seats are so bad we left in pain. I have been to this theater twice in the past month and both times the theater and bathrooms were horribly dirty, littered with trash and debris. Last night, we were told we needed to wait because the theater was being cleaned. The attendant came out of the theater with the garbage can and broom and said we could go in. If was filthy and the theater employee had obviously not cleaned a thing. The garbage can in the bathroom was overflowing with trash and paper towels all over the floor. I live in Park City and this theater is an embarrassment to Park City. Certainly not part of a world class ski resort. read more

A good local movie theater, BUT, I've never seen the place clean. Popcorn on the seats, and the previous movie goers left their cup in the cup holders. The hallways are full of popcorn too, while a broom and dust pan lean against the wall. The teenage staff hangs out in the front concession stand talking. Several times I've been the only one in the theater and the previews have sound but no picture, last time I went up front and reported it to the staff, their reply was "what time does the movie start?" I replied, who cares, it would be nice to see the previews, their reply was the #1 projector dont work. Make sure you bring a jacket with you as the temperature is in the 40's summer or winter.
