Love the inside "town-square" theme. Reminds me of Disneyland. They have lots of places for photo ops, which are all based on the current/new movies being shown. Bathrooms were decent and clean. Overall this is a "solid" theater. I've come to expect theaters with the big, comfy chairs that recline. That wasn't the case with ours. The chairs rock back and forth but that's it, and the legroom isn't the greatest. It felt like an early 2000's experience where you are super close to the other person and can't get as comfy as you'd like. Theaters have come a long way since then, but some are still...back there. I went to see The Odyssey in IMAX and they were having problems with the screen when we got there, as well as the lights, so we walked in and couldn't find our seats since nothing was working. Then the movie started and it was COMPLETELY blurry. To the point I thought I might've accidentally bought 3D tickets. 20 minutes into the movie it FINALLY got fixed. They should been more prepared. If I'm paying to see a l expensive movie I would like it to be the quality it should've been. read more

Ok, ok, this place is the cutest movie theatre I have ever been too, and the seating is by far the BEST I've ever experienced! First off, it feels like a stroll down some cute city street with the most adorable storefronts and apartments ever. Some of the upper windows are decorated and it totally feels so unique. Second, the seating is top notch with comfy leather recliners and even heated seating! What?! Lastly, the popcorn in so extra yummy that it definitely was the cherry on the movie! Came tonight to the pre-screening of "Send Help" and had a good experience at this theater overall. Sadly, was disappointed to see the restaurants in the parking lot no longer exist so you're forced to get overpriced food inside the theater. Paid over $12 for a four piece Papa Hut personal pizza. It tasted fine but should have been held the cost. The large popcorn was over $11. At least it was warm and the perfect snack for a movie. As far as the theater itself goes, the inside feels old and like it needs a refresh. I did appreciate the actual showing theatre as the chairs were very comfortable and I liked that there are options to add heat or cool to the seat. The movie itself was very entertaining. read more

This is my favorite Megaplex! The theaters are clean, the service is great, and I like their food offerings such as a warm, crunchy churro. Highly recommend you see a movie in their IMAX theater! It's an incredible experience and makes you feel like you're in the movie, not just watching it. Plenty of free parking and in a safe area. My favorite theater. It is the most awesome interior of any theater. There are hallways or pods with several screens and each hallway looks like it's own Rialto theater. I love the snack bar, it is so inviting. Everything about this theater is inviting. It's fun to go to. I've seen a movie in IMAX here and they are one of the very few IMAX theaters in Utah. I've been to an IMAX with Cinemark, but Megaplex's IMAX has better seating. Their seating rows and levels are better and they have a section with even more luxurious seating. It's really comfortable and just like the rest of the theater, is inviting. The employees are friendly and service is good. I like all four Megaplexes that I have been to. This is my favorite, though. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. This is the coolest mega plex ever! I know I probably said that about the last mega plex I went to but that's because I didn't know this place existed in Sandy. It gives off Disneyland vibes the way they create a night out in the city the minute you walk into this mega plex. I'm honestly very impressed with the creativity and detail they put into this mega plex. The seats I sat into are leather very comfortable with a swinging table so you can eat and watch. The main reason why it's 4 instead of 5 stars is because they didn't do the best at cleaning the seats and the floors. Me and my wife had to wipe off the seats we are sitting in due to left over popcorn and candy. Other than that definitely the best megaplex you will ever go to in your life! Rude employee interaction! I hadn't seen a friend in a while so we were taking a picture in front of the new "obsession" movie poster. We wanted to do a before and after picture for fun. Two male employees-one with bleached, curly frizzy hair and the other with short, brownish hair were walking past us 4 feet away and openly LOUDLY started laughing at us, pointing us out to each other and making eye contact with us as they made rude comments. They said such along the lines of "look, they're taking a picture" "of course they are taking a picture, they're chicks," and even calling us dorks and humanoids. This is completely not okay with me and my friend, it's disgusting behavior considering they are working in a SOCIAL and PUBLIC environment. Costumer service is a very essential skill to be able to work in such a family establishment-these two boys did not have a SLIVER of said skill. I would like this to be known to other costumers, as this is not the first time i have heard-AND experienced inappropriate behavior and language from employees. If this is how staff acts when an employer or company supervision is not present, i am SEVER disappointed with this establishment. It is in the business's best interest that they confront this issue and make sure nothing along the likes happens again. Thank you! read more

Megaplex at Jordan Commons is probably my favorite theatre of the entire franchise. I consider it to the be the "fancy" Megaplex. You get popcorn, pizza and an abundance of other snack to munch on while you enjoy your movie. Pro tip: order ahead with the app so you can skip the line. The interior feels like a retro small town and the movie displays are always beautiful. It's as if they have a dramaturg on staff. Speaking of the staff...always friendly, polite and patient. Sometimes my phone takes a moment to load the tickets and the staff has never made me feel bad. They often ask me if I'm excited for the movie instead of making the moment awkward. read more

This movie theater has the best movie theater in the Salt Lake City Valley. If you order the tickets and food ahead, your experience will be smooth sailing. Interestingly, the sweet pork tater tots and the pizza are some of the tastiest I've had compared many other restaurants. They offer excellent incentives with their mega bucket and mega drink refill, and you can ask an employee for more information if you're interested or visit the website. This has always been my go to theater as it's fairly close to my house. However, I was really disappointed when I attended the yelp event last night of the screening of freakier Friday. My complaint is with how ininformed and untrained the staff is. We had to ask 3 different people where the yelp event was and when the movie started, there was no sound for about 10 mins. We saw a movie in the Imax theater. The seat was comfortable, the sound was great. We had popcorn and it was fresh and hot. The soda machines were clean. The theater itself was clean and well kept. The only complaint is the 20 minutes of previews and ads before the movie starts. read more

September 12, 2023, 9:45 PM. Lillian and I have just returned from seeing an early screening of "A Haunting in Venice", a film, based on the Agatha Christie novel. The theater itself was clean, brightly, lit, and smelled of fresh popcorn. My wife enjoyed the film. As she typically does, she picked up on the subtle clues dropped by the author, and had most of the mystery solved before the big reveal. I thought the film was courageous. Anyone making a film from an Agatha Christie novel has to be talented and confident. The acting was brilliant, as was the casting. Due to the setting, the film had to be dark, but it was not excessively so. The editing was crisp and precise, early cinematography was flawless. The music was subtle and eerily appropriate. The period costuming and Halloween attire were masterfully done. I would highly recommend this film, particularly to anyone who enjoys a finely tuned murder mystery that is beautifully recreated. read more

Wow, has this place changed in the last 15-20 years! Once a must-see destination for family and visiting out of state friends, as well as a great place to take our sons when they were 10-15 years old, this place has fully lost it's luster. Yes, it's been some time since we last saw a movie there. But now, the place looks like a ghost town. Chalk it up to advancements in home theater, HD and 4K televisions, COVID, the economy, or what you will, but this movie theater bears no resemblance to the same site just 15 years ago. All four of the former restaurants there (between the LHM Tower and the theaters) are shuttered. We used to enjoy the Asian restaurant, the Mexican restaurant, and the Ruby River steakhouse as well. Not a big fan of Joe's Crab Shack...but all four are kaput (and probably have been for some time.) Such a shame. Oh, and the infamous "The Mayan" jungle-themed restaurant is looooong gone and was such a creative place that our kids loved...especially the cliff divers. Sure, things change, but not often for the better. The Mayan brought back even more memories of the Hawaiian Restaurant on Highland Dr. My wife and I enjoyed watching "Homestead" in Theater 3 last night but found the interior of the food hall "street" to be dead. That, and the ticket kiosk we used was broken (requiring an employee to re-start the card reader), and the lounge seating was comfortable...but a tad difficult to access the seat recliner and temperature control. Placement of the control buttons at one's right hip may have not been the best idea. Oh, but the close captioning box device worked perfectly for my wife. One of the advertisements that came up on screen last night was the celebration of the Megaplex's 25th Anniversary there at Jordan Commons. Not sure there was a lot to celebrate other than the place is still there and operational as a theater. That's about it. Three Stars for an OK experience...but surely not the way it used to be! I'm a fan of this theater, although I will say I usually come for earlier shows around noon so I haven't had to experience a weekend evening rush. Parking in the small garages across the street is a breeze. This place is massive, there are a ton of theaters and each hallway is themed along with the overall "city" vibe they have. The theaters I've been in are updated and the seats are comfortable. You have a good amount of space. Bathrooms are clean. It took me a minute to figure out where to pick up concessions that you've ordered ahead (it's at a window to the left once you enter), but you can also order concessions when you get there in another area. For being a big movie theater, I didn't think popcorn and soda prices were too bad. Overall, nice place to catch a screening. read more

Disappointing experience in Theater 7 - Sound is half the experience! ​I went to the Jordan Commons location recently to catch La La Land as part of their $5 movie deal. While I appreciate the price point, a discount shouldn't mean broken equipment. ​We were in Theater 7, and the front left speaker was completely dead. ​For a movie like La La Land, where the music and sound design are everything, this was a huge letdown. It felt like I was only hearing about a third of the movie. The audio was incredibly unbalanced and distracting the entire time. ​A movie theater really only has two jobs: projection and sound. It is frustrating when a major chain can't even fulfill those two basic requirements. To make matters worse, this is the second time I've visited a Megaplex location only to find a speaker blown or broken. ​To be fair, the projection looked fine, and the speakers that were working sounded decent, but that doesn't make up for the gaping hole in the audio. I expect better maintenance from a premium theater like this. read more

I like the theme of the theater. I do not like how the popcorn is already inside the buckets. A lot of my popcorn was broken pieces of popcorn like it wasn't fresh. The theatres are a nice size and had good sound. My first having a heated chair. They could use some cleaning though. Speaking of cleaning, the bathrooms definitely needed more cleaning. Came for a screening for The Haunting in Venice as a part of Allied Global Marketing with @YelpUtah (The movie was fantastic by the way) Parking was extremely easy, tons of spaces around. We were immediately greeted and told where to go for the screening upon entry. The theatre was well lit and clean, concessions did their best to accommodate everyone quickly but the process was confusing. Seats were super comfy, screen and sound were clear. Been coming here since early 2000's and never had a problem. Butttt I the saw the Lord of the Rings marathon here on AUG 23 in theater 16. Kinda a let down. Screen had a smudge in it that was distracting. Over crowded restrooms with 10 min wait times, the food was also a let down with a 20 min wait. They were suppose to call out numbers so you could pick it up warm but they just let the people create a line so when we did get your food it was cold. Also most of the drink machines were out of certain drink product. I'll still come here just not for an all day marathon. read more

Our family loved Sandy megaplex! Now we see it through the lens of a Disability. Our opinion has changed.The theater has an abundance of ADA parking in their north and south lots. They have also blocked public entrance to both those lot doors.This forces the individual to use the main entrance. Its awful. The access ramps are a long way from the parking area. The forced front access requires you to stop in the street at the main entrance where it is elevated for the wheelchair . There were no electric controlled ADA front doors . The main entrance is all uphill inside. I was out of breath at the top. Then the walk to the megaplex screen was long using multiple access ramps. We were rewarded for our efforts at the theater entrance with no ADA doors into the theater.We went without popcorn or drink because it was to hard to go back and get them. We sent someone to get the car moved to the north parking lot to pick us up. The exit only doors were not equipped with ADA doors. Its a fire trap in a wheelchair. A miserable experience ! read more

Lots of good food choices for concessions and love the freestyle coke machines so you can add flavor to your soda!! Theatre we were in was super clean! First time in this MEGAPLEX THEATER. The Jordan's commons MEGAPLEX is sooooo nice, it has something for everyone here. Our seats are so dang amazing reclining seats with tray and drink holder. They have tons of food options, burgers, corn dogs, chicken strips, PIZZA HUT PIZZA!!! Yummy, get your tickets online which makes it easier to get and get seated, also they have an app so you can preorder your food. The drink options are COKE PRODUCTS, with 100 different varieties. Plus the have SWIG here for you drink freaks. Come here and enjoy this wonderful place with your family, friends, or your dates. Will be coming back here again for sure. read more

Went here for date night to see Fantastic Four. There were 12 or so teenagers behind and next to us who wouldn't stop talking loudly through the whole movie. Multiple people complained and management kept coming in and giving them warnings over and over but never kicked them out, despite constant complaints. It was so distracting and such a waste of my money since we couldn't even enjoy the experience whatsoever. The women's restroom was also messy and smelled like pee. I will not be going back here for quite some time. read more

2 thumbs down and wish I could give this location no stars. We showed up today to watch Winnie the Pooh blood and honey and were told it was an "event" and we couldn't use our movie vouchers. It's a B rated horror film at best for gosh sakes. They wanted to charge us 15.00 each plus tax. Not going to happen. We walked out. Also lack of actual employees is scary. This movie theatre is fun with the inside decorated as a city block. There's a convenient parking garage right across the street if there's no parking in the immediate parking garage. The snack bar area was a mad house and a little confusing, from my understanding (according to my friend). Not everyone knew where or how to order. Reclining seats were large and convertible with a tray table. We were able to see and hear the movie very clearly. read more
