Restaurant Review Only!!! We walked in with HIGH hopes. We dine in the theater all the time and absolutely love the food (even with the limited menu), so we assumed the sit-down experience would be the same vibe, same flavor, same magic. It was... not. Let's start with the good: the ambiance is gorgeous. Classy, clean, comfy booths, great lighting. Our waitress was great -- attentive and kind. No complaints there. The gal who brought out the food, however, looked like she had rolled out of bed and maybe hadn't met a hair brush or dry shampoo in a week. Not exactly the impression you want in a kitchen staff delivering your food. We ordered: nachos, French dip, chicken quesadilla, and a kids chicken strip + fruit. The kids chicken? Chewy. Rubbery. My daughter took one bite and decided fruit was the safer investment. The nachos were decent but painfully bare. The cheese sauce covered maybe 60% of the chips, there was basically one scoop of pico trying to stretch across the whole platter, and the meat chunks were so large you had to engineer each bite. Also... rib meat on nachos? I'm open-minded, but I'm not fully convinced. The chicken quesadilla was solid and generously filled -- maybe almost too generously? It somehow crossed into "so loaded it forgot to be cheesy" territory. But it was fully eaten, so we'll give it that. Now. The French dip. The one I was most excited for. They tried to reinvent the wheel with short rib and Gruyère. Not traditional, but I was willing to trust the vision. The plate comes down -- no au jus. So the girl goes back to get it. While waiting, I snap a photo and notice a hair standing straight up out of my sandwich. Love that (at least I saw it before eating...?). I calmly sent it back. The rest of the table had finished their meals before my replacement arrived. So that's always a bummer to eat alone. I do appreciate that they remade it, but the second plate came out looking rushed and messy compared to the first. Presentation matters. Like the fries were reused from my first plate and just dumped or something. Flavor-wise? I ate about 90% of one half and called it good. The flavor combo just wasn't my thing. Now -- because fairness matters -- we have to talk about the in-theater dining (same restaurant, totally different experience). We LOVEEE the tavern fries and the pepperoni pizza. Like, drooling level. Just make sure the pizza actually comes with the fresh basil and the tavern fries have the green onions. When those garnishes are missing, the flavors feel heavier. When they're there? Elite. For us? Theater dining forever. Sit-down dining... probably not again. The Megaplex in Downtown Daybreak lives up to its "Cinema Entertainment Center," description. It's a step up from the usual Megaplex dining experience. The biggest highlight for us was the Dine-In Luxury service. You can order meals, appetizers, and full-sized desserts right from the comfort of your movie seat. The servers deliver everything right to your seat! It felt very elevated. With that, comes higher quality food but also restaurant-level prices and portions. This venue perfect for a date night or going with one other person, as opposed to a large group, because the seats are very private. (Or opt for a non luxury option and sit right next to your friends.) I kind of missed the old school classic Megaplex feel but it was really fun to try the new experience for myself. Came to watch downton Came early to try out the restaurant waited for 10 min. We asked some of the employees and they said someone should be at the restaurant and I saw no one. Someone was cleaning the bowling area but never came to help. Eventually we asked the theater concessions and they were nice enough to let us order from the menu and bring it to the theater. We were only ones in the theater except for 2 others and they forgot to turn the lights off. So we had to find someone to turn them off. We were glad someone was walking by and didn't have to go to far and miss the movie I can see since it's new maybe not as busy and staffed properly for a Sunday. The Megaplex in Downtown Daybreak is so nice! I've been a couple of times now, going to the same theater with the Megascreen. For this visit, I sat in the Dine-In Luxury Box with my husband and 2 of our friends. Our server was friendly and quick, and even mentioned for the movie to make sure we don't miss the two post credit scenes. I got the sliders and churro fries and my husband got the chicken tenders and fries. The sliders were OK, a tad dry, but the chicken tenders and the churro fries were delicious! Came for bowling. GREAT EXPERIENCE! So it's not a flat $50/55 per lane if there's only two people. For two people, you pay $5 per person/per game. So two of us played two games = $20. Great deal. We also ordered the slider plate. The sliders were some of the BEST sliders I've had. Movie theater food isn't known for the best food, but man, this place is surprising me every time I go. They have staff cleaning the bowling alley often. For a bigger group, purchase a lane for $50/hr, or on Friday evenings, it's $55/hr. read more

Ok this review is a little complex since this facility has so much to offer. I will totally give 5 stars to the theater and the arcade! We've seen movies here multiple times and will continue to come back. My toddler loves the arcade and always asks when we can go play the "light up games". Some of the theaters are smaller, so just pay attention when you are booking tickets. The mega theater is amazing! The reason for 2 stars is because I wish I could review the restaurant portion separately, but I can't so here we are. If I could give 0 stars I would. I will give them that it was the week of Christmas but the experience was awful. We got there and were seated almost immediately. The waitress took our food and drink orders off the bat and we thought "perfect!". Wrong. We proceeded to wait 40 minutes for our food to come out. When it did arrive it was all cold. We also ordered the garlic cheese bread as an appetizer (came out with the meal) and it was AWFUL. I didn't know you could ruin cheese bread, but they did. It was so spicy, and the cheese wasn't even fully melted. I'd heard great things about the food, but this experience makes me think they prioritize the theaters and bowling over the sit down patrons. Rating 4 stars only because it is developing. What is here is 5 stars. The Megaplex, being the anchor, is one of the best theaters in Utah. Modernized in every way and a fun place to come. The luxury seats are great and the luxury boxes (I guess that's what they might be called) for two people are a wonderful idea. The seats not only recline, but you can also adjust the headrest, which is a first for me. There are also personal lights (think airline) for each person in the luxury box. Handy for those dark moments in a movie and you need to find your Reese's Pieces. All seats at this theater are luxury seats. This is an upgraded Megaplex with a bowling alley, a huge arcade game room, and a restaurant. You might be seeing some less than stellar reviews here because everything is new and I think the employees are still getting a handle on things. There probably isn't enough traffic yet to practice on. I think when things get more developed here, the service will improve. Just perusing the one star reviews, a few said that the employees looked "bored." Yeah, when we were there on a Wednesday, practically no one was there. I would be bored, too. Pretty upscale center. It has a fun-looking playground in the middle of the square. No wood chips, but a nice, squishy rubber floor. Seating in various places. A unique water play feature. Plenty of room for restaurants and stores. I didn't explore everywhere here, but there is a Official Gear of the Bees store, Hires Big H, and a Moena Cafe (Hawaiian). Opening soon are Rockwell Ice Cream, Nomad Eatery (burgers, sandwiches, salads), Naraya by Sawadee Thai, and Jolly's (candy, gifts, pharmacy, women's boutique). The Salt Lake Bees minor baseball team plays here in the new stadium There is a nice outdoor stage for performers and events with a nice AstroTurf seating area. Very impressive entertainment center. Will be five stars as this develops. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. This is the first Megaplex I've been to and it was really nice, you can tell that this location is fairly new because everything was super neat and clean. You could definitely make an entire day here with the three major activities they offer: movies, bowling, and arcade games. I enjoyed that every area was well labeled, which made navigating around much easier. They also had a lot of staff on hand to assist and guide you to the right place as well. We started with the movies and the concession stand employees were so nice. We got a large popcorn and drink. They ask if you want butter, but you can add more yourself if you want by the fountain drink stations. I will say the popcorn is quite salty and the butter also had an odd artificial flavor I've never experienced with movie theatre butter before. Moving into the theatre itself, the heated reclining seats were top tier. The buttons are pretty intuitive, but it does take a second to figure out the heating and reclining functions. After the movie we stopped by the arcade. It's a pretty big space with a wide variety of options. We didn't have to wait too long for any of the games, but there were some that were more popular than others. The arcade game cards can be a little finicky and won't want to register sometimes, but if you give it a few seconds to reset and then try again, 9/10 times it worked. After we made our rounds at the arcade, we were up for a round of bowling. Unfortunately, around 9pm, they were no longer taking walk ins. I'd recommend making reservations beforehand if you're set on bowling. Overall, I had a great time at Megaplex. I will for sure keep it in mind for the future. read more

I believe that this is a great family fun environment but if you can afford to bring your family here that's great $13 for us a ticket to a movie seven dollars for a Smartwater five dollars for a candy bar when you can go to the other, make up Plex down the street from here and get half of that price way too much money for a family read more

By far the best Megaplex theater, and even better now thats its an entertainment area. First with the theater, love how all all seats are luxury seats. No more quickly buying seats to have the most comfortable because they all are. Only difference is the new dine in luxury seats where you can order from the theater. And the food is actually good. The tavern fries are by far the favorite and from a friend, the chicken tenders, are some of the best he had in a long time, unexpected from a movie theater. The bowling is fun and new. Always nice to have options for entertainment such as bowling and you can play games on the lanes too so its not all the same boring bowling. And the arcade is lots of fun. Great game and very affordable. Its actually a good price. 25 dollars to play 30-60 minutes. And you dont have to go all the day downtown if you live close in the area. This location is fairly new and my first experience was an absolute disappointment. The theater workers didn't know what to do when asked questions and then finding out that you can't order concession food at the counter but from a specific seating. You would need to purchase a specific seating to do so from inside the theater for an extra $1.50 w/ a higher seating price. This is absolutely frustrating that Megaplex should all align w/ the other places rather than charging more just to order food aside popcorn, candy and drinks. read more

The only highlight was an employee at the arcade. She always has a black hair wrap on. "Heather" I think her name was. I really wanted to like this location as it is so close to me. Dining are always bored, not many employees trained, and service is very slow. I have went to the location on different days but the staff look miserable or bored. read more
