I'm really glad that we took the time to spend a few hours and even spend the night here. This is a really beautiful lake to be able to have a very calm and relaxing time. There are a lot of folks doing night fishing but they do a pretty good job of not shining their lights into the camping area where the tent campers are at. We camped with our tent about 15 ft from the river and it was lovely. The day we arrived was a little bit tricky because we stopped and inquired about camping and we were told if there was not a tent, then the spot was available and to pitch our tent come back and tell him the site #, pay the fee. We did that. But when we got back he said "oh except for that spot". So then we had to move our tent over one spot, however nobody showed up in the spot that we were at that night or the next day so not sure what happened there. But when it was all said and done we had a nice little corner all to ourselves. This is definitely a place that is very convenient to get to off of interstate 24 and if you are on a road trip I would definitely recommend stopping and paying $15 to park there for the night. They also have on the other side of the island an area for RV parking. $30 rate per night, however you can rent an RV spot for a month for $500 and it includes water electric and there is a dump station. Oh! And there is a bathhouse. There is 2 men's rooms with toilet sink and shower, and there is 2 women's rooms with toilet sink and shower. The use of these facilities is included in the camping rate. If you were just here for a day trip there is a really nice boat ramp as well as on the other side there is a park area that is available for use during the day and there are picnic tables and a swimming area that looks really nice. We launched our kayak off of our campsite and went around the lake over to the Tennessee River. When you get to the Tennessee River if you take a left (SW), there is a beautiful cliff face that has birds singing very loudly and it's just stunning. If instead, you go to the right, there is another large area with a big lake and if you look forward and a little to your left (SE) you might see a train going by in the distance.

The park itself is very nice with a huge lake. Do note we decided to get a spot directly on the lake side since there was a ton of open spots. However I would recommend staying away from the spots at the edge of the lake. There are a lot of geese here and apparently they take quite large and nasty poops... the edge of the lake is covered in geese poop... you learn something new everyday. Other than that it's lovely. Only water and electric although there is a dump station.

There are lovely trails and views around the lakes, and when we walked to the large waterfall, it was stunning. Our dogs have loved it. The staff has been extremely helpful. Having the store at the front and the free laundry facility has been convenient as well. They are always making improvements and we have felt very lucky to stay here. We recommend Sasquatch!

My experience with Sasquatch Farm was extremely disappointing. I ended up with a reservation that I…read morenever confirmed, yet I was still held responsible for it. There were actually two reservation numbers associated with my booking, even though one was never completed because the business entered the wrong dates, forcing me to create a new reservation myself. When our camper had to be repaired, we called well before the stated 24-hour cancellation deadline to cancel. During that call, we were led to believe the reservation would be canceled. Later, we discovered it had not been canceled as requested, and the company refused to issue a refund. When we tried to resolve the situation, the conversation ended abruptly after the owner hung up on us. I have email records showing the confusion over multiple reservations and later correspondence acknowledging that a reservation was canceled only after the fact. The entire process was disorganized, communication was poor, and customer service was frustrating. Based on my experience, I would encourage anyone booking here to keep detailed records of every phone call and email, verify any reservation immediately, and obtain written confirmation of any cancellation. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this business.

They supply the yaks, paddles, and life jackets (required). It's a good time. The guides will educated you on the bats, Lake Nickajack, and the history of the area. It's around a 3 mile paddle total at a leisurely pace. The bats. Basically, at bat time, you'll float around near the bat cave until the bats start to sweep out. It's a spectacle. Lots of bats, most of them flying close to the water. Nice. Do it. It's worth it.

It's so pretty and peaceful in this park. The park is inside a residential neighborhood. It…read moreconsists of lush gardens made into dedicated sections of all types of greenery and perennial flowers, bushes, waterfalls and stonework. In the quiet background, various song birds pleasantly sing. The residential area is located in a hidden alcove about two miles from DT Chattanooga, and is very well kept up. There is one picnic table if you wish to use it and a couple of small trails. If you go, keep in mind the local residents don't keep their dogs on leashes, nor do they have fences keeping them on their property. One time we came here a large dog came charging at us full bore from a grassy yard while we were on a walk. Sometimes you can tell whether a dog is friendly or not, but the anxious run by the dog made me think not. Luckily, we hadn't walked too far from my car, so it was easy to get back, which is what we did. It felt like the owner of the dog didn't want 'outsiders' walking in what is a public park. He was standing there without giving the dog commands. Go figure. Keep in mind there is minimal to no parking, so you will most likely have only 2-3 parking spots at the far end of the park.

An ultralight plane tows the glider up to altitude (about 5 minutes) then releases you to glide for about 10-12 min (or longer depending on the altitude). Dalton was a great instructor/guide whose love of flying was infectious. He showed me how to pilot the glider and let me take the controls for several minutes. The view from up there is amazing! I worried I'd get motion sick or have issues with the height seeing as there's literally nothing under you. But nope! One minute into the flight and all of that faded away. I would definitely do this again if I visit Chattanooga again. P.S. Be sure to read all of the website and any emails they send you. There's notes about what to wear, how early to arrive (much earlier than your flight time), where to go (one location to sign in and another for the flight; and you drive yourself), plus a no refund policy for poor weather. Also be aware you have to purchase the photo/video package before going up, since they don't attach or use the camera unless you've asked for it (it can't be an afterthought). If you buy it, they download them onto your phone as soon as you've landed; no waiting for them to be posted online days later. Loved that! P.S. If you're lucky, Gypsy (the cutest little dog) will be there to keep you company while you wait for your turn to fly. She was so adorable. I am a returning pilot (after a 10+ year break) and wanted to start back from the beginning in a…read moresaftey conscious environment. I found that here and so much more. From the Training hills with Scott and PLJ, to the Tandems with Rich and Dalton to the awesome people that keep everything running smooth like Brittany, Cheyenne, Mountain Mike and the owner Matt. Just as awesome was the community and love for the sport. I stayed in a cabin and was greeted on my first day by a couple named Bob and Susan who asked if my buddy and I were hungry and wanted to eat with them. I offered to pay and Bob said sure, with friendship only. It felt like the entire park was there some nights sharing flying tips and stories and just having a great time in general. I am coming back to get my solo aerotow and mountain sign offs and know I will be greeted by wonderful people and very saftey focused instructors and staff. I have always loved flying but this place is off the charts. I am already booking my trip back for the end of June and can hardly wait. Thank you all for making it such an enjoyable experience and thank you Kelvin for bringing me back to the sky again!

I completed this hike on a blistering day in early July at around 9am-12pm in 95 degrees…read more I started at the Signal Point NPS Overlook Parking area and did the full round-trip hike which turned out to be around 7+ miles when I added the side quest to Rainbow falls in. The trail was much less crowded and trafficked than I expected, less maintained, and not well blazed. There were several downed trees, it was overgrown in some areas, and there were some splits that genuinely had no guide as to which was the trail and which wasn't. So, that was frustrating and I almost quit a few times and turned around. I'm glad I didn't. The Edward's Point overlook is stunning and the views of the Tennessee river are worth the effort. It was a much more challenging hike than expected and, I like to think I'm in decent shape as a runner and person who works out 5-7 times a week regularly. I was panting, my legs were burning, and some of the climbing and rock scrabbling was a bit tough. I would say, this hike isn't for a casual hiker - my husband would have never done it with me and been furious if I tried to take him on it. So, just know what you're getting into here. It ain't easy!

This was such a fun hike! The views were AMAZING and the only other people there were hikers like…read moreus (and a few strong fur babies!). It took a good chunk of our day and was several miles down and back. Springtime is beautiful to see flowers blooming, sun shining, and birds chirping. We were sore the next day but man my calves were feeling STRONG. Some spots were much steeper than others and I honestly wouldn't recommend bringing young kiddos on this trail. Great spots for photos and plenty of space to sit and enjoy the overlook with other hikers.
