Although I do not intend to move anytime soon again, I highly highly recommend Reed Movers. They were organized and thorough as we had to do a move and battle a line of rain coming through. They arrived earlier than expected and immediately got to work getting the boxes onto the truck. I used Reed Moving several years ago when downsizing from a two story house. I believe in giving credit where credit is due...they did an excellent job. They were hardworking, efficient, professional, and on time. So when I needed to move again, I chose Reed. This time involved moving the contents of two houses and storing it during what turned out to be Hurricane Ian. Again the employees functioned as above; my complaints are not really with them. When my furniture was delivered after the hurricane, there were many items damaged: but primarily two sides of an L-shaped sofa were torn and the feet breaking off, and a baby grand piano with water damage. Both had been maintained in a seldom used living room and were in pristine condition. The workers called management regarding the damage and were told to 1. leave the sofa standing on end and 2. as a liability issue, refuse to put the legs on the piano and leave it standing on end {in the middle of the walkway into the master bedroom}. PIANO:I followed up with the owner and we agreed that I would contact someone to evaluate the piano damage. The piano technician informed me he could not do this unless it was uprighted. The owner again refused to upright it. She suggested turning it over without legs; but that was impossible because it was not a flat surface and a player unit was mounted underneath. Another moving company experienced with moving pianos agreed to help. $495 later it was uprighted, water dripping out, with rusted strings and debris inside. $250 later the technician evaluated and said the minimum amount to make basic repairs was estimated at $2500. This by no means would restore it to its original state. I called Reed but she was having a medical issue, so I emailed the estimates and at a later date called back. NO answer to the email no returned call. I did pay an extra $150 for coverage up to &5000. SOFA: damage to the sofa seems to be at the level of the tape wrapped around to hold the pads in place. DESk: left standing on its side, a damaged desk {not their fault} but given no idea how to put it back together or where the parts were. $250 to repair, but damaged further in the process. SOLID WALNUT CHINA CABINET: water marks from being stored at ground level in apparent flood zone. REVIEW:I recommend the hardworking, polite, and responsible employees of Reed. I cannot recommend management that fails to return emails, calls, or resolve issues with damaged prized possessions. read more

I wasn't able to use their storage because they were full. Instead they called around to other nearby storage and found us what we needed with no compensation to them other than GOODWILL. Very grateful to them. I'd do business with them anytime! read more

It's moving day. I'm moving from DC to FL. 1000 miles. I'm a single, middle-age woman with no family in town to help with this huge transition. I've talked with 8 moving companies who have given estimates from $1200 (seriously - you should see their Yelp reviews) to $8000 (a company with a stellar reputation but at that price I could throw everything away and start new). I am impressed with the flat rate pricing at Reed Services. They are pretty much right in the middle of those 2 estimates too so it feels like a fair rate. So far, Shannon and Isaac have been a pleasure to work with. They have been professional and yet very pleasant....... They are here and jumping in. If I could give a 0 I would. Terrible experience. My organizer hired them as part of the package. First time was a disaster. They broke expensive glass items that had been in my family forever and they knew how important the items were to me. They were on the fragile table. The guys just stuffed it in boxes without any packaging of any kind. The owner had to come out and redo everything and even though items were wrapped in paper they either left the cheap brown tape stuck to all the dishes, popcorn maker, pots/pans etc. or they did that themselves. Now, I'm having to scrape and clean all over the dishes to get the gummy tape off. I can't even describe it. They taped plastic measuring cups to bowls.?? Ridiculous. Boxes were not marked so we didn't know where to put boxes in new location. Ended up to be more work for us than if we'd done it ourselves before and after the move. read more

Life saving. Not kidding. Flew east on a Friday from CA to help my daughter move from Fort Myers, FL to MI that Sunday. Hired a local mover to provide 2 guys for 2 hours on Sunday morning to help with the couch, bed, etc., down a flight of stairs to 16 foot truck I had rented. Right before taking off, 5 minutes before the doors closed on the plane, got a call from the company that I had originally hired and they told me they were triple booked and would not be coming. What? It is Friday night and you are canceling on me? So, spent the entire flight messaging folks and not surprisingly most were either booked or wanted a minimum number of hours more than the 2 I needed (and extra to help on a Sunday morning). Not Reed's tho! Immediately responsive. Wonderful. Understanding. And even gave me tips on how to save on moving blankets for the one way adventure. Sunday morning, two guys came (Calvin and Milo), early no less, and they were fantastic, got it done quicker than expected and it was a truly wonderful experience. I cannot recommend these folks enough. They stepped up when I needed it. Got the job done. Showed up on time and were great. What more could you ask for? Only sorry they do not exist nationwide as everyone should be so lucky as to be able to interact with a business like this. Thanks, Shannon, Calvin and Milo. I was trying to do the right thing by giving business to a small local moving company during COVID, but as they say, "No good deed goes unpunished!" We moved our belongings from Naples, FL to Seattle, WA. Obviously, small moving companies do not have the manpower that nationwide companies have, so we had Reed's Moving and Storage load our things onto a trailer and U-pack transport the items cross-country. I would never do it this way again. When damages occur, it is too easy for these companies to blame one another. When I first spoke with Shannon at Reed's, she seemed helpful and sincere. She suggested that I order blankets online in order to save money and said that if it were her and she had homeowner's insurance, that she would not get the insurance offered since it only covered the loading. Most homeowner's insurance policies only cover the items if there is a fire. She assured me that Reed's handles moves with great care, and if they were responsible for damage, then they would be accountable. This has not been our experience. We couldn't believe the amount of damage that we experienced. Even the movers who unloaded the shipment commented on how bad the loading was. When I called and spoke with Shannon about the damages, she assured me that they would take responsibility, but instead they came up with excuses as to why the poor loading didn't cause the damages because the damages occurred during transport. --Boxes that were marked, "Dishes," "Fragile," were at the bottom of a stack of boxes, with boxes marked, "Heavy," "Books," loaded on top. Not surprising, the dishes arrived broken. When we were asked to send pictures, we naturally took the paper out of the box that was on top of the dishes, in order to be able to see the broken dishes. Their response was that the boxes were not full to the top of the box and that is why the box was smashed. No, the reason the boxes collapsed was because they packed heavy items on top of fragile items. The boxes were full to the top, but the paper had to be removed in order to see the broken dishes. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. Well packed boxes still collapse under enough pressure. --Our leather couch arrived with black marks and indentations in several areas, the wrap and blankets torn, and legs missing. Their response was that they used our blankets. I really don't understand what using our moving blankets had to do with the couch not being properly wrapped and protected and poorly loaded. They didn't even respond to the missing legs. --The outdoor furniture was the most frustrating. We have Kingsley Bate outdoor furniture that is made of teak and mesh. Instead of using our blankets, they wrapped the furniture in paper! which provided no protection for the furniture. Five out of eight pieces of mesh furniture were torn because they were not properly wrapped. --Bedroom furniture had black marks and a big gash in the dresser. The legs on the bed frame were not taken off, and were therefore bent. Their response to the damages was that they didn't transport it. I believe it was the horrible packing job that created the damage, not the transport. About 40% of the blankets we had were not used; they arrived in Seattle still in a bundle. I have no idea why they didn't use the materials provided. Had they, it seems that many of the items would've arrived unscathed. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this local company. If I had to do it again, I would use a nationwide company to make the move. I don't know, maybe Reed's is just not up to doing a job unless it is a local move. read more

I bought some furniture at a Naples consignment shop and used Reed's Services to transport the furniture to Cape Coral. Everything about their service was exceptional. That was about a year ago. The saddest thing that happened was when I lost the business card they gave me. I purchased more furniture and had to use another company. My two sofas arrived with the arms and backs marked with scuffs of gray and brown. I bought a bedroom suite and had to use another company. That was another disappointment. I enjoy finding bargains and changing my décor. However, the thrill is short lived when my purchases arrive in "less than good" condition. Today I feel lucky because I found the phone number for Reed Services online. I'm getting ready to have a Henredon leather sectional sofa moved to Miami for leather repair. We used Reed Services for labor only to load a rented 25' moving truck for a move from Naples, Fl to Baltimore, MD. Nice guys - seemed to work hard - but very disappointed with their packing skills. Though we provided bubble wrap, moving blankets, rolls of packing tape and other packing items, some sensitive items were not secured with these. My 55" flat screen TV was not secured at all - and put at the very back of the truck. When I arrived at my destination, the screen was completely shattered and base was broken. My leather furniture (a couch and love seat) with wooden feet, was stacked on top of each other, with nothing to protect them. This furniture cost me over $3,000. Now, it has scuff marks from the wood rubbing against the leather, that I can not get out. There was a box of porcelain kitchen dishes (dinner plates, serving platters and serving bowls) that we was clearly marked in bold letters - FRAGILE - KITCHEN - that was dropped off of the dolly that they were taking down the stairs. 95% of the dishes in this box were completely broken. After contacting Reed Services, we sent pictures to Isaac and Shannon. Initially, they seemed to have concern. I only asked for $400 to reimburse for damages, though that certainly will not replace the broken 55" flat screen, repair the damage to the leather furniture by a professional or replace the broken dishes - but they have done nothing.
