He takes great pride in his business and it shows in the quality of his work and customer service. Reed's is the only place that I will consider going. Would be five stars but for the snotty attitude, high prices (around $60 for just suit sleeves and a pant hem) and kinda of slow turn around (over 2 weeks). I was at work when my suit pant pocket got caught on the arm of a chair and tore the seam. Normally I would have just pinned the seam together and taken the pants back to the men's store I got them from, but that night I was going out and needed to look my best. A co-worker took me over to Reed's after work to see if Farid could fix the problem. Farid was great! He was professional; he took the time to explain what he needed to do and fixed the seam correctly (like you would have never known I tore the seam). Highly Recommend!! I called Reed's Tailors this past Wednesday based on a friend's recommendation (they had altered her daughter's prom dress). I had purchased a lovely wool suit jacket to wear for a wedding; but the sleeves were too long. I had a time-crunch - needed the job finished by COB today for the wedding. He said he could finish it by today -- call today at 3pm. I picked it up a few minutes later, and his work is perfect. The sleeves - in fact - are hemmed better and look better than when I bought the jacket last week. It's hard to explain, but the sleeves really look "tailored"! Sleeves can be tricky, and the cost of $45 is more than reasonable for such high quality workmanship. I can wear this jacket for years! I am really happy with the beautiful quality of the tailoring, the kindness with which I was treated, and the fact that he did exactly what he said he would do. I will be back! read more

Brought them a brand new suit. Got the pants back and I would characterize the condition they were in to looking something like Steve Urkel would wear, too short and not proportioned at all. I asked for a full break in the hem (which is long over the shoe) and for them to sew in brace buttons (for brace suspenders). The brace buttons were spaced conservatively speaking about 8 inches apart when the should have been around three inches apart so says every alterations website anywhere making the braces unwearable. I took them back, they nicely fixed the hem and tapered the legs and replaced the brace buttons. I wore the suit once and the front brace buttons tore out ruining the waistband lining of my brand new suit. I went back AGAIN, for a third time and the guy very nicely pointed out to me that the brace buttons should have been installed in the seam of the waistband (which is stronger) which begs to ask why this wasnt done BEFORE it ripped holes in the lining of my expensive suit. He gave them back to me and there were still holes in the lining. I asked the nice man that was being kinda cool, about fixing the buttons to sew of the up holes in the lining at which time he got visibly angry, jerked the pants out of my hand and then in Arabic ranted to the tailor sitting at the sewing machine (in front of me). He was incensed, so much so the other customer in the shop commented on it as I left. He ironed a patch over just one of the four holes, put it on hanger and gave to me (something honestly I coulda done myself). I had to go back to this train wreck of place THREE times to get six buttons sewn into the pants and have them hemmed which quite frankly is alterations 101. I will never go back to this place and I will and have encouraged all of my friends and family to avoid them as well. Im glad they nicely (at least for a while) fixed the problems but having to go back over and over again to correct issues that never should have existed to begin with is ridiculous. read more

I stopped by here based on a recommendation of a friend who went here for a bridesmaid dress alteration who thought the quality of work was good. I waited patiently while the tailor/owner was assisting a family with a tuxedo for the prom. When it was my turn, and I asked about altering a dress, he was very dismissive, saying it would take weeks since he was booked/busy, and while he was talking to me, he actually took the dress to wipe his chin with sweat - so GROSS, and it was chiffon. He quoted me a price just to let it out which was way more than another place I went to. And when I said I wanted to lose some weight before bringing in the dress to alter, he tossed it back to me, as if he was annoyed -despite the fact I had waited 20 minutes and our conversation was only about 2 minutes, with only one new customer behind me in line. I have to agree with the negative review posted on 8/16/2011 ("overpriced, overrated"). Reed's had been recommended to me by a friend, but I will never go there again. Two weeks ago, I arranged to have my mother-of-the-bride dress altered in the shoulders so that excess fabric was removed and the shoulders would not "stick out." I paid $65 (!!) to have the work done. When I picked the dress up yesterday (8/20, a week before the wedding) the shoulders were still sticking out--and one more than the other! The tailor offerred to redo the shoulders but said it would be impossible to complete the job before 8/24, three days before the wedding. What if the shoulders STILL weren't right? I've found another tailor (recommended by a closer friend!) who has agreed to remove both sleeves and eliminate the protruding fabric before sewing them back in--and have it ready this Tuesday (8/23) for $35. It is true that mothers of the bride have been known to become hysterical a week before the wedding, but I am basically a calm and forgiving person and it is uncharacteristic of me to rant in this fashion. But really--$65 for a completely unacceptable tailoring job...? read more

Reed's does excellent, careful work at a reasonable price. I've had them do everything from simple hems to taking a suit apart for complete alteration, and they've done a great job every time. If you need something in a rush, they'll accommodate your schedule, too. Very skilled. Highly recommended, except perhaps for getting in and out of their parking lot, which I hate. read more

Don't go here! I took a dress there and when i picked it up it wasn't right but they said that they couldn't do anything to change it. The alterations guy told me it was just how my body was in the dress when I could CLEARLY tell that things could be done to fix it. I also took a bridesmaids dress to get altered because I was desperate and they made me feel very uneasy about how it would turn out and told me there was really no way to fix what I actually needed fixed. If I'm paying you good money to have things properly altered to the way I want them to be, you should just do it. I hated my experience and won't ever be returning read more

I found them after many botched jobs by in store tailors and have not used any one else since, even if it is free tailoring from the store. They do the job right the 1st time no matter how difficult it may be. I have NEVER been so poorly treated by a businessman. He argued with me when I wanted him to do basic requirements for a tailor - measure to make sure my dress is even on both sides. The dress has lines of beads on each side, and it would look odd if they were uneven (it does look odd, since he ended up ignoring me and altering it unevenly, completely ruining the dress). He kept trying to tell me that "humans are uneven," ignoring the fact that we stand differently at different times, and that dresses (especially those with embellishments like lines of beads that you can see) are generally cut evenly for a reason, let alone the basic requirement for a tailor -- you do what the customer asks you to do. When he did alter the dress, he ignored my request and altered it unevenly. To make matters worse, he only altered the outer layer, making the lining come out below the bottom of the dress on one side. I pointed out that it didn't do that before he'd altered the dress, and he went ballistic, literally screaming at me in front of all the other customers that I was being "dishonest" because I was "blaming him for something that he didn't do." I've taken the dress to another tailor to try to fix what he screwed up, and it's unsalvageable. So, for a LOT of money (this place charges MUCH more than any place I've ever gone to), I got screamed at in front of other customers for his mistake and a completely ruined dress.
