The person assisting with the fittings was knowledgeable with lengths, knew their inventory, patient, and were so helpful with everything to make sure we got a suit we liked and that fit well. They were so nice too because we walked in around 7:40pm and they close at 8pm, but it was amazing full service. There were also two other men there already getting fitted, so it was so efficient. We did not feel rushed and Marks really took his time in measuring and offering options for my fiancé who was torn between different style and color options. My son and I visited After Hours on Saturday to rent a suit for an upcoming formal because of its proximity. Also, when I called to ask about what they offered, the person I spoke to was very helpful. The shop is a small unassuming place in the middle of Clarendon. When we arrived both the owner, Mr. Hess, and his associate were already attending to other customers, but we were greeted in a very friendly way. Mr. Hess was able to help my son get exactly what he needed and displayed a lot of knowledge of what would fit my son well. In spite of that expert knowledge, Mr. Hess was more than willing to listen to preferences and adjust to what clients preferred. Great, locally-owned business that's been around for 79 years. We got GREAT service. Mr. Hess was patient with my son, listening to exactly what he wanted in terms of style and fit. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing and exactly how to wear the tux. We forgot to return on piece and they allowed us an extra 24 hours to get that back in. With two upcoming formal events and one too many times renting, the fiance was leaning toward buying a tuxedo. Based on Yelp reviews, I narrowed it down to three shops and messaged them. Two I heard back from promptly, one not at all. Both had great reviews, fair prices and excellent customer service. We opted to try After Hours first because it was more conveniently located to us. Harold (the owner) is no nonsense, straightforward and honest. He showed us rentals and tuxedos for purchase, both new and previously rented. All the prices were less than quoted elsewhere. The new tuxedos were not cheap versions of more expensive suits and the pre-worns were in excellent condition, especially given that the fiance is an unusual fit (hence, rarely rented) and if there was even a hint of a flaw, Harold removed it as a purchase option. The fiance is pretty picky about his clothing--more so than I!--and he was satisfied with the quality of all the tuxedos, but he opted to purchase a higher quality shirt and shoes from a high end men's store. Alterations are fairly priced and turn around is 5-7 days, though we are getting the suit tailored closer to home because of convenience/location. Harold clearly knows his industry. We were in and out of there in no time and I loved that Harold didn't try to up-sell us or persuade into the most expensive options. He simply advised us of all the alternatives and let the fiance decide what worked best for him. Mostly, I was very happy we could support a local business. read more

I am really impressed with the service and product at this establishment. My boyfriend and I came in to rent a tux - now we are not experts renting tuxes and needless to say my boyfriend had a lot of questions. During the first day when we were deciding which tux to rent, we were helped by Marks who was really very very helpful. He patiently answered all of our questions and recommended different styles. Despite spending a couple hours trying to finalize the tux, we never got the impression we were being rushed or pressured into renting something that was more expensive. This business is the one that finally convinced me to buy a proper, tailored tux. (Try Black Lapel, e.g.) Despite copious measurement at rental, upon pickup I was a stunned to receive a ridiculous, sack-cloth and oversized dress shirt. Upon protest, I was given a "fitted shirt" - that is 100% polyester. Wat. The salesman tried to convince me - as a used car shucker might - that an XL was the only thing possible for a 17 neck and 35 sleeve. As if dress shirts of various sizes and measurements had not been invented. Or sold even at Walmart. The vest was threadbare in many spots, and studs were promised but not delivered. After Hours may be sufficient for an emergency rental, but if you care how you look, spend the $600 and buy a proper suit that will pay for itself many times over. read more

This is a really fantastic little store. I haven't used them for renting a tux, but did buy a few things there including a cummerbund, tux shirt, studs ,and cufflinks. The staff is extremely friendly, patient, and helpful and never pushy. They have a good selection including used stuff, and great prices too. I even lost one of their cufflinks the second time I wore them and they sold me a spare for $3! I will definitely be back for my future formalwear needs. I needed a tuxedo for a formal event that I was invited to 3 days later. I went to two other places that wanted to charge me a $30 "last minute" fee. The prices at the other places were also unreasonably high. I then went to After Hours and was very happy with every aspect of the experience.
