I've always been interested in wanting to take Pilates, but was getting close to ending my second trimester of pregnancy and decided to start it after during my postpartum recovery. Little did I know that when I took a class, I saw some individuals that were able to do Pilates during pregnancy. However, they would just modify movements for pregnancy and there is a special pad that you use, which I thought was awesome because now I know in the future when I have baby number two I can keep working out with modifications. It's great and I absolutely fell in love with it after the first class. Your first class credit is free, then they offer you a discounted three class package price after you are done. In the beginning, I remember doing the class wondering how the heck will I ever get to the advanced levels like others because some of the movements look absolutely crazy with some of the ladies making it look so darn easy. Well, here I am 50 classes later and I definitely want to try to do more classes every time and I am getting better at the movements and even taking some of the advanced classes now. All of the instructors are great and you definitely get different teaching methods with each one which is fun. The instructors are thorough, they give visual demonstrations, and hands-on corrections. They make it a point to always ask if you are a beginner, or if you need to inform them of any injuries or modifications that you may need so they are aware to help accommodate . Lastly, the studio is absolutely beautiful with such a calming and pleasing aesthetic inside. The bathroom has essentials for women (hair ties, spray deodorant, dry shampoo, feminine products, etc) which is great because sometimes you need those things! Not to mention the music they play in there is great, different playlists depending on the instructor. The owner is very sweet and you can tell that she has a passion for Pilates and loves sharing it with those around her, whether that is her staff or the members of the studio. This is the first Pilates studio in the Whittier area that I have been to. It stands out alone on the decor and style of the studio. Every single time I walk in I feel at peace and I leave feeling filled with gratitude that I am able to work out in such a beautiful space. The workouts are always challenging, and the instructors are attentive to your form, which is reassuring since Pilates is a new workout regime for me. there are little details to the studio that I really enjoy such as the water bottle fill station. The restroom also has some nice personal touches that we are able to use just in case we need something such as hair ties. I really love how interactive they are on Instagram constantly updating us on weekly updates and monthly events. The app for Refined Pilates is also user-friendly. Went to my very first Pilates class Saturday November 30, 2024 for the Refine + Align which it is good if you are a first timer. I bought the thankful promo package that comes with 4 sessions for Black Friday. As I got inside the studio I was greeted by Paige (instructor) she checked me in by asking my name and I did mentioned that it was my very first time doing Pilates. I felt more comfortable when she did notify me about her being the instructor and that she will be helping us if we need our form corrected or what not she was very helpful throughout the class. As I left the session once it was done I felt good and happy that one of my good friends just bought the same package and she will be joining me for the next class.
