The space is clean, well run, and set up perfectly for youth training. What stood out most was the environment. It's competitive but still positive, and the kids were always excited to be there. The trainers do a great job keeping things organized while pushing players to work hard and improve. You can tell they care about development, not just running kids through drills. If you're looking for a gym where players can get better, build confidence, and enjoy the process, NXTLVL is a great choice. We're glad we trained here and would absolutely recommend it to other families and teams. We are MOST DEFINITELY coming back in the offseason.

If you're reading OTF reviews you're probably considering joining…read moreand contemplating various fitness formats/gyms etc. You've probably viewed some YouTube videos on how the classes work but essentially at this location you have the following formats - 2G, 3G, Tread 50, Strength 50, and I believe like a lot of OTFs trialing Hyrox format. How it works is you sign up for class on their app. Show up. Eat a bunch of free mints. select a station # on the treadmill or rower (2G) or treadmill or rower or weight floor (3G). If you're in a 2G class you're on treadmill for 23 minutes and weights 23 minutes. If you're in a 3G class you're on treadmill for 14 mins, rower 14 mins, and weights 14 mins. Tread 50 you're on the treadmill whole class (approx 40 mins) Strength 50 you're on the weight floor (approx 40 mins) the whole class. The coaches are there to direct the flow and keep you motivated throughout. Everything is tailored to your abilities and injuries. You can walk, jog, run, haul ass on the treadmills. It is a workout for all ages and abilities. Everyone is kind and welcoming from the members to the coaches. I think the most difficult thing will be taking the first step to give it a shot and then to come back. But if you're reading this then you've made the first step in wanting to change some aspect of your life. Now what you need to do is take the free intro class to get a sense of the place. But 1 class is unlikely to give you the full picture of what OTF can become for you. You need to come back and take those baby steps towards changing your habits. It's never easy starting a new thing. But you need to just show up. Even if you just walk on the treadmills or row casually or do body weight training - just show up. Commit to it. Give it a month before you decide. That's the hardest part. Stop making excuses or pushing it off. You have 1 body and 1 life to live so make it the best life. Ignore the naysayers the negativity and take a step towards change. Don't live with regrets and don't let life pass you by. We used to go to the Fit Body Boot Camp in Cypress years ago, but eventually stopped when we moved. We used to run marathons/half marathons, but then the pandemic happened. We do have gym memberships but we don't really go. We haven't worked out in awhile... starting all over again is difficult, but we did like our previous experience with the boot camp so we were glad to find one close by. We are now around 30+ sessions in. The workouts are no joke, they are super challenging, and we feel so tired once they're done, but we never regret doing it afterwards. Basically a love-hate relationship: we love that we're feeling healthier and (a little) stronger every week, but we hate how hard the workouts are, haha. Coach Chandy and Coach Sam are amazing, they are soo nice and friendly, always having encouraging words for us and are super motivating. To be honest, there are some days when it feels really tough to get out of the house to go workout, but having the coaches push us and guide us helps. Especially for newbies like us! I was with United Fitness when the business was in La Habra. I was with them for around 2.5 years…read moresince 2016. So I know what it was like before Covid and after Covid. I'll tell you about both. I want to note that I never did the 6-week weight loss program they offer every month to new clients. I just came to do the group workout classes for $60/month. I thought the group classes were very good. Each exercises were 1 minute each and you rotate to do another different exercises. It varies from day to day. Most days, the days program includes some resistance and some cardio. Some equipment used are dumbbells, stationary bikes, stairs, rowing, sliders, punching bags, resistance push/pull boxes, ab roller, slam balls, bosu balls, battle ropes, TRX ropes and more. Everyday are different exercises, which I like. Each round, you have 4-5 exercise stations and 3 rounds, which makes it 50 minute of intense workout. I always sweat! The workout is pretty intense. Since being a member, I felt like I gained muscle and my weights has increased since I started. My muscles are often sore after exercising. I loved how Coaches really push/encourage me to con't exercising. They provide free heart monitoring. Free of charge if you're a member. It gives how much calories you burned during the class and who is in the red, yellow, green, or blue zone. The place has A/C when it's hot or in the summer time. It's so nice since, I'm dripping in sweat every class. They used to provide towels for us, but now they don't, we need to bring our own towels. I like that when we do floor stuff, they have black cushion pads for my knees to rest on preventing my knees from touching the hard floor. Depending on the coaches, each coach has their own genre of music they like to play. The music is super loud depending on where station in the room. It's really loud when you stand near the very left of the room (near the restroom). It hurts my ears! There is water fountain and restrooms for male and female. However, they do not have showers. Also, there are no paper towels to dry your hands after washing. They have specific times when class starts and stops. I recommend to check their website online to know what times classes start. Multiple times I've driven there and find out that they are closed for that day. They don't have any reference on their website or their Facebook page that specific day being closed. The only thing is that you'll drive there and realize it. The don't notify when they don't have classes. It's a waste of gas, but more importantly the time to drive there. Plus, no one answers the phone. I don't know why they have a phone number if hardly anyone one answers it. If you want to call, your best bet is to call after 3pm, that's when there is 1 person in front of the gym checking people in. During Covid, I came back after months of not coming to United Fitness because of being precautious of covid and wanted to stay at home, it was easy to come back. They did not enforce wearing a masks doing into the gym or during the class. The thing I noticed was that some coaches try to social distance esp with stationary bikes, stairs, and row boat being so close to one another. I like that some coaches did that. But, I think that all coaches should put people every other seat so at least we are distanced with each person. I think they should limit how many people come to class too, so we can do social distancing for the rowers, bikes, and stair climbers. When coaches don't say anything, people will be next to each other without masks. I felt that is so dangerous of NOT ENFORCING Social Distancing ...they should maybe do every other person on the bike, rowers, and stairs. During Covid, they did not enforce how many people are in a class. When it was beginning of Covid, they had sign-up sheets to enforce how many people can come to the class. But they got rid of that and just allowed anyone and however many people to come to class. During Covid,some classes, esp the night ones were packed with people. They don't limit how many people come to class. Therefore, not social distancing on at each station. They do ask everyone to wipe/disinfect using spray bottles and paper towels. The spray bottles were community use. However, restrooms still don't have paper towels for people after washing hands. Like: --class exercises --coaches pushes me to keep going --coaches demonstrating the exercises before us starting --easiness of stopping and starting membership --free to use weighing scale with fat % & muscle % Dislike: --not enforcing social distancing, esp with bikes, rowers, and stairs machines being so close to one another --people not wiping their sweat from their stations....so gross and coaches not enforcing the wipe down between stations --not knowing which days are open and which are closed --no one answering their phone calls --super loudness of their speakers that you can't hear the coach

He loved the variety of activities and made so many new friends. He came home with fun stories each day. I loved that they offered a variety of options from 2 days/week to 5 days. We returned last summer and an unexpected and sudden medical event threw our summer for a loop. They were beyond kind and accommodating. Michael, the owner, personally made sure we were taken care of at a very scary time and was just incredibly kind and communicative. I can't thank him and his staff enough for the support. I would recommend this camp for any family. Its like a classic, old-school summer day camp experience!

My son attended Adventurewood camp for the first time this week. For the most part he enjoyed…read morehimself -- particularly the characters they introduce throughout the week. However, we decided to pull him out for next week because of a very disturbing situation. He shared that a counselor had pushed him with both hands on his shoulders during a capture the flag activity. He had dropped his flag and was putting it back on when a counselor (he didn't know her name) pushed him back hard enough to make him lose his balance and fall. She also barked "you need to reset!" She didn't ask if he was ok or help him up. You'd think if this was an accidental push and he fell over she would say something like "sorry bud are you ok? Here let me help you up" but nope, not a word. A friend he's attending camp with witnessed the whole incident. Since I pick them both up in the afternoons they both recounted this situation to me and both of them noted how inappropriate her behavior was. I immediately reached out to Michael, the owner of the camp. He said he wanted to identify this counselor and get her side of the story. Understandable. My son felt uncomfortable going back the next day but I reassured him it would be handled and offered to drop him off in the morning and stick around to talk to Michael and the counselor. I wanted him to feel safe. Michael identified her (her name is Carson) and said he wanted to talk to her first, which he did a few feet away from me. I heard her say she didn't push him. They then walked over to me and she again denied everything. So we asked both kids to come over and recount what happened. They both did -- in front of her -- and reiterated she pushed him. She denied even touching him. So Michael suggests at this point that perhaps it was an accident and my son responds by saying "how do you push someone like that by accident?!" No response. So I ask her, are you saying these kids are lying? She again said she didn't touch him and at this point we send the kids away. I'm incensed because not only does she gaslight both of them to their face but tells this bold faced lie to her boss in front of the campers and me. I tell her I believe them and I think she's the one lying. At this point she gives me this dirty look - angry, irritated and almost rolls her eyes at me. I turn to Michael and say "and now she's giving ME an attitude?!" Unbelievable. In a follow up call, he tells me how good of a person she is and that this is shocking for him to hear but that she doesn't seem like someone who would do something like this...that she's getting her teacher credentials and he knows her really well. I am getting the vibe he doesn't actually believe any of this and he sounds very skeptical. I respond by telling him that it's almost always surprising when people exhibit bad behavior and that even teachers do bad things...that doesn't make her any more credible in my eyes. He acknowledged that. In fact, it's worse because I would be really concerned to have someone like that teaching a kid. Lack of empathy, accountability, and integrity. I mean, I think it's great he's trying to have her back but there are moments in life when you need to draw a line and act swiftly...these are one of those moments. Because ultimately, this impacts the reputation of your camp. I told him that it would be good to offer training to his staff in case this ever happens again in the future and honestly he sounded baffled and asked me to clarify...I said well maybe tell your staff not to give dirty looks to a mom who's clearly upset that her son just got pushed by a grown adult at summer camp?? I told him that the response to this situation could've resulted in a totally different outcome. Had she said something like "I really don't recall pushing you but if I inadvertently did and made you feel bad I'm sorry - I didn't mean to do that" - I would've went home that morning feeling fine about the situation. When I told him this he said that he's not going to police all her reactions, that she's still young, that she's still learning and made all kinds of excuses for her. Exhausting. Apparently she got a "warning" and will sit out of the flag activity (umm, ok...). He seems like a smart guy and wish him nothing but success in the future and I was earnestly trying to offer advice for how to handle a situation like this better but it fell on deaf ears. I really hope that some kind of learning comes out of this for both of them. Oh and to top it off, my son's friend told her mom that Carson was giving her looks several times throughout the day today and when she asked what kind she said "side eye" looks. NOT COOL. My son also said she was kind of mean to him but wondering why they were even in close proximity when Michael said they'd absolutely be separated and would not see each other? Validates we both made the right choice by pulling them both out. He offered a refund but I'm still pissed about the situation.

It is truly a magical place. The teachers are young and vibrant. They are so full of energy and they keep our children entertained and in continuous movement. It is such a sight to see. The teachers are so loving that they hug and or high five our kiddos. I feel all of the love. My daughter is over the moon happy with her gymnastics class and we will continue our business in this beautiful facility. I wish we had more seats available for the parents/ audience but other than that it's a 10/10.

I wanted to check out Back 2 Basics since it would be convenient to work out at a gym that was directly across the street from my work at WPD. I showed up and it was not anything I was hoping for. It looked more like a Nifty After Fifty gym. There was only 1 older woman doing stretches by herself. I asked for the owners of which she said they were around somewhere. I stood there for roughly 10 minutes but no one ever came out to greet me so I left. I did not like the lack of attention and visually it wasn't anything I had envisioned for a modern day gym so I knew it wasn't for me. A few weeks ago, myself and few others from my work were finishing up a business meeting with a husband and wife team. The wife (who was a client of the gym) received a disturbing call with loud profanity coming from the caller that was put on speaker phone. I looked over at her phone screen to see that Eric Bravo from Back 2 Basics was the caller. She hung up and Eric Bravo called right back and yelled the same F words. We were all shocked to hear such vulgarities from a business owner. UPDATE: I checked with our staff to inquire if anyone came into our office looking for me under my initials. Of course they said no. But you have more than my initials so if you really did come in, you would have reached me with no problem. You only said you did in order to make yourself appear to be a victim - another lie. As you say "Nice Try". Furthermore, the Badali's are not our friends. We met them the day your vulgar calls came in. Also, the only reason why her husbands Yelp review was taken down was because he was not your client - not because it was an untrue review which would support why her review still remains. But I am astonished that you would be so foolish as to make yourself look bad by posting that you went to Whittier PD to waste the good people of Whittiers' financial resources on a frivolous complaint that would take resources away from real matters of crime and importance - just because you are having a tantrum due to an unfavorable review. Based upon your own story, you just gave the public a true depiction of your lack of character in attempt to discredit an entire group of people that witnessed your profane calls. When I initially walked into their gym, it looked small and old inside. The owners, Eric and Nargiz Bravo seemed nice at first. I begin to notice they were unorganized and the work outs were the same for weeks. I started to feel uncomfortable with the way Nargiz would demean certain clients with profanity. I soon realized she was moody and rude to clients. One day I asked a question regarding nutrition and was answered very rudely with an abrasive attitude. Eric was very apologetic and said "There's no excuse for my wife's behavior". Weeks later after leaving their gym, I became aware of negative comments the Bravos were saying about me from a few people we know in common. I sent them a text message asking them to stop their behavior and move on. Seconds later I received a series of obscene calls from Eric yelling "Fk you, you Fckn B@tch! I immediately hung up but he called right back and yelled the same obscenities. Little did Eric know that my husband and I were in a meeting with prominent city officials that witnessed the disgusting calls and stated they'd make sure their friends and family stay away from that business. Back 2 Basics is a sorry little gym that's run by unprofessional owners. I've posted warnings to all my friends, family, Whittier business colleagues, and my past BNI colleagues on all my social media pages and have spoken to them personally to ensure Back 2 Basics is exposed for their shameful demeanor. This gym has changed my life FOREVER. I went from 270lbs down to 190lbs with the help of Eric and Sandy. Life has been so much better knowing I have a FAMILY here at this gym. It's so much more than a gym - It's all personalized and they REALLY take their time with you to make sure that you have the right routine. I look at all the times I signed up for some mainstream gym and can't help but cringe at the thought of ever going back to one, but you know what... I consider myself a very active person, I would run through the hills 16 to 20 miles per week. I was healthy and felt strong, but I was not getting the results I wanted. Three years ago I started going to Back 2 Basics Training. During that time I was trained by Eric, his knowledge and professionalism has helped me over come my back injuries through; rehabilitation and a step by step custom program. This has helped me advanced my strength training to a new level. I now just hit the gym 3 times a week. The Staff is knowledgeable and all around great people that I know consider great friends. I am 47 years old and have been working out at Back 2 Basics for 8 months. Spin and boot camp have been a perfect fit for me. I have literally seen a transformation of my body showing form and I feel great. Trainers Eric and Nargiz Bravo are professionals and care about their clients like family. Age does not matter. They will help people of all ages and plan your work out according to your comfort level. I have never posted a yelp review, but Back2Basics is definitely deserving of one. This isn't your average gym. Class sizes are small and each client receives individual attention. Eric and Nargiz are amazingly helpful, encouraging and attentive and Sandy's cardio step class is a ton of fun. There's nothing intimidating about this place. It has a great family vibe and I genuinely look forward to going every day. Not to mention, I've seen great results and the cost is very reasonable. read more

Back 2 Basics is a gift. It is not just a gym, it is a place where you are given customized support on how to reach your health goals. Everything is personalized. I reached my goal in 5 months and feel strong and confident. All the trainers are knowledgable, lead by example and make it easy to lose weight and get lean. You will not get the results or attention like this at any other franchised gym around. Back 2 Basics is the best! read more

They have group classes (varying between 5-15 people,) small group training (about 3-6 people & priced a little bit more) & personal one-on-one sessions (1-2 people priced a little higher.) You can even drop in & try a class as a walk-in (for less than $20) & see how you like it. Every trainer is different in teaching style, but with the same goal in mind--to get their clients a good workout & good sweat. If you need modifications because of an injury let it be known & they'll tailor it for you. Having the right form is extremely important to me so I appreciate when the trainers would correct me or show us the correct form. I found community here when I wasn't even searching for it. I was reminded to have a strong & positive mindset & that I would only see results if I put in the work. This isn't just a gym. Melissa puts in a lot of hard work, time, energy & dedication to not only her clients, but also in providing equipment that measures up to those same standards. So what are you waiting for?
