    Kitchen

I recently had water damage in my kitchen which caused damage to the floors in the kitchen and my bedroom. Nicholas and his crew replaced the floors in both rooms and sanded with 3 coats of polyurethane to match all floors. All rooms look gorgeous!!! The evidence is in the pictures.

We supplied our own composite materials (i.e. Azek) and they supplied the rest. The first day of demo we were charged over $800 for labor and materials. They were at our home for about 3 hours. I paid without hesitation and even gave one of the workers an old bike I had in our garage for his kid. They seemed like nice, honorable guys. I expressed concern at one point during the work when I noticed that the cuts the worker had made were not straight. He informed me not to worry and that, "it will be seamless" once finished. On the last day of the job, I spoke with the admin assistant who informed me that my bill had increased by $800-$1,000 above the quoted estimate. This was news to me and I told her I would like an itemized receipt to account for all costs. A general receipt for "labor" and "wood" was sent to me. There was no itemization at all. Considering we supplied the vast majority of materials, I still have no idea what we were actually charged for. At completion of the work, I was immensely disappointed and could not believe the workers were telling me this was a finished job. For starters, my post now hangs over the decking on one side (see photo). Additionally, their cuts were crooked, their corners not square, and they tried to make up for their poor craftsmanship by filling in with caulk. They also removed our railing and left the post where it was attached unfinished, with a screw hanging out. See photos below for details. I refused payment at completion and called the owner (Jeremiah) to come take a look and help me resolve the issues. I sent him photos and he came to my home with one of his seasoned carpenters to review in person and determine a resolution. At first both men began defending the work, but ultimately it was clearly indefensible and they finally agreed to repair at no additional cost. We all agreed piece by piece which items needed to be repaired and replaced. It was the majority of the job. When they left, we had agreed that his seasoned carpenter would return to repair the shoddy work and that I would pay the remaining balance in full so long as the job was done satisfactorily. We did not agree on a timeline however, and I did not hear from Jeremiah again until over 3 weeks later (?) when I contacted him to inquire about when I might expect work to begin. At this point, Jeremiah's story had changed, and he was no longer agreeing to repair the job unless I paid in full up front. I told him that this was ridiculous because then I would have no guarantee that the job would be done well. He stood his ground and informed me that I "could not be trusted" to pay. I then offered to pay half of the balance with the rest at completion, to which he declined and continued to insist on payment in full before sending anyone for repairs. Since there was no way I could rely on a job well-done based on the first go-around, we decided to part ways. Now I am $800 in the hole, plus the $800 in materials we supplied that were ruined, and still do not have a porch!!! This business cannot be trusted, does not guarantee its work, is unprofessional, and in my opinion, is run by a shyster. I mean I could have written a poor review based on the extra $1,000 they tried to charge me, but their craftsmanship and unreliability are the most shocking. I am disgusted.

Please, DO NOT USE ProKlean, look elsewhere. Two and a half years after they repaired our house…read morefrom a tree falling on it we are still finding subpar and unsafe work issues. Paint stated to peel within months of moving back in. The dishwasher was installed crooked and the bottom cabinet pieces fell off immediately. ProKlean actually left the kitchen unfinished (even though contracted to do it) with the new sink left in the garage. We had to hire an outside contractor to install the sink and faucet as well as all the countertops. The bathroom light was installed upside down. It works, however, had it had been hung correctly it wouldn't need constant cleaning out due to the light bulb covers facing up catching dust and such. Proklean also never finished the attic. Insulation was left exposed in many places despite our request for them buy extra plywood sheets that we would pay for. Today, March 20, 2026, while rearranging some of the boxes containing our things they left in the attic, we discovered that the wood support beams installed during the repair had nails sticking out and exposed on one side. An injury almost occurred due to this nail exposure. The garage door opener keypad stopped working within a year. The original, working one, had to be replaced by them because it got broken apart by the workers haphazard in and out of the garage. It was replaced with a generic one that lasted about three days. We had to insist they put another new one on that was the same as the one the workers had broken. The door not opening might also be that the motor for it seems to have been shoddily repaired with electrical tape. The whole process was a nightmare. We would stop by sometimes to see the progress and would find that their workers didn't even know what was going on. All they could say was that they had to call their boss. Doors and windows were continually left open and unlocked after the workers left, leaving rooms at the mercy of the elements and or wildlife. Three plate glass windows were broken during the repair which we then had to harp about to get replaced. The tarps put on the roof were so inadequate it leaked throughout the house. We are now having to keep our prayers up for the new roof which was installed. The front lawn also got deeply torn up during a delivery of either siding or wood. The driver drove the truck across the front lawn and parked in front of the bay window leaving such deep ruts in its path that ProKlean had to have it reseeded. The shoddy, subpar and unsafe repairs on the house are just shy of criminal. It may have been subcontractors who did the damage and inferior work, however, they were hired by ProKlean. Our insurance company paid for all billed repairs in a timely fashion with no issues. We now deeply regret our choice of ProKlean for the house repairs and having them paid for such a disastrous job done.

They also repaired the kitchen ceiling, first taking down all the cupboards and re-installing them afterwards like nothing had ever happened. We were worried about the kitchen cabinets in case they were damaged during all of this, but they're all back up and you'd never know there was a problem! The workers were professional and friendly and they always kept us informed of what was going on. I would recommend Pro-Klean to anyone.
