I was new in town. I saw all the pictures here showing woman with long hair styles so I thought it would be a good choice since I HAD long hair. A long pony tail if pulled up. AMY asked me what I wanted I said an inch or a little more off if she needed to for the long layers. She wanted more details and I didn't know what else to say. I emphasized to be SURE I can easily put it up in a long ponytail. She started in the back of my head at the nape and took 5" or more off with the first snip! I said Whoa, what are you doing? That's way too short! She insisted it wasn't and when it was dry it would be ok. And did it again! I know hair is longer when wet but what could I do? Damage was done. When it was over I had a VERY SHORT haircut cut up the back...like hers!! When I said I wasn't happy at all because I specifically told her to leave it long she pulled my hair back so tight it looked like I had a bad face lift and said, See! You have a pony! It was a 1" stump! I said I didn't want a pony. I wanted the whole damn tail! She huffed and rolled her eyes at me and said she wouldn't charge me for the cut. But I looked ridiculous!! I went to the best salon in town. Told it was shocking. The sides were 4+" longer than the back and all chopped up. If AMY was trying for a wedge she screwed that up too! Amy is a professional, she listens to your concerns and explains the products and their ingredients she's using on you and she doesn't pressure you to but them. Price for cut and style is affordable. I didn't start seeing Amy until around late spring or early summer of last year. I had given up on ever finding a hair dresser that could highlight my hair in way that truly looked natural. Like it was just kissed by the sun. Previous hair dressers always over highlighted and left the highlighted area looking "chunk" or like I had strips of bacon in my hair. The placement was just awful. Needless to say, I always looked liked I just had the worst highlights done. So, I had given up and decided to keep my natural color. Then my coworker recommended her girl. Her hair was pretty. I loved the color and it looked natural. So I gave Amy a shout. I sent her a pic of my hair and we went on to set up an appointment. A few hours later, I was in tears! Happy tears! FINALLY someone heard me and knew exactly what they were doing and how to fix the other persons damage! I was truly amazed. Amy is a hair artist. This isn't just her job, it's her passion. She is so awesome. I've recommended several girls to her since. They would see my hair and immediately asked for Amy's contact info. They had too been unsatisfied with their hair. I couldn't imagine seeing anyone else and I drive from Bertram. Amy takes her time and delivers exceptional results. The way she washes my hair is like getting a massage. And the blow drying almost puts me to sleep. She is so gentle. She doesn't have people waiting while she works on you. You are her only client where as most hair dressers work on one client while the other is processing. It's nice to not be rushed. Come see Amy. Let her transform her hair. Salon was clean and comfortable. My hairstylist has her own room with shampoo station and everything needed for cut and style and color. I felt relaxed and confident with her ability and knowledge. We love, love, LOVE this salon! Amy is amazing! This will be my second time visiting her. The first time, she did a complete balayage color on my hair and gave it some new layers. I had super dark hair, and it did not turn out "orange" at all. We do not live in Austin, but travel there frequently. Every time we are there, I make an appointment with Amy, and so does my husband. She gives amazing haircuts and uses Euphora products, which are the best I've ever found. My husband has very fine, thinning hair which is difficult to style without him looking half bald, but Amy makes him look great. She keeps up on the latest styles and is great with all types of hair. Although I don't color my hair, I have seen some of her before and after photos, and she is great with color and highlights too. read more
