They may be "environmentally" friendly and sustainable - but they certainly aren't inclusive. Service sucks! I don't normally bring race into the situation but they were 100 percent racist! Felt like I was in the scene in Pretty Woman! Unfriendly staff. Needed to have some retail therapy/ been working a lot and coming down from a successful achievement. I also wanted some summer pieces. Was being helped by a young woman named Ariel- had a few outfits sent to fitting room- only got one item. Lady the register was cold and dismissive. Seems like the manager- and if so she sucks! Was ready to buy myself a few things for my birthday next month- left empty handed and with a bad experience at reformation. Sucks. They won't have my money again. If I could, this would be zero stars. My cousin, who was visiting from New Zealand, had a terrible experience at this location. The sales clerk was not only extremely rude but also blatantly racist -- even going as far as asking if she could afford their products. 1) She could 2) she bought multiple items 3) even if she couldn't, there's no shame in browsing. The only shame is the sales clerk with her poor and condescending attitude. Completely unacceptable behavior in any setting, let alone a retail environment. What's worse is this isn't an isolated incident. This Reformation location has a long history of negative reviews pointing out the same issues: rude, unhelpful, and sometimes outright discriminatory staff. A quick scroll through past reviews shows this has been going on for years -- and clearly, nothing has changed. I even reached out to their customer service online to report the incident. I came in a week ago looking for a dress for a wedding and had a great experience. Luna and Kiara were so accommodating and helpful even though they were completely slammed with people up until the last second the store closed. It's super evident from these reviews and from my time spent in the store that a lot of people that come into Reformation genuinely don't know how to treat retail employees and just operate under an insane sense of entitlement. The two girls working the front were so kind and obliging and still were lashed out at a couple of times just because they were not able to meet the needs of the customers due to reasons that were literally out of their control... i.e. fitting room wait time, being out of sizes, etc. It was bizarre to see some customers treat humans like this. Came in for Catbird pop up, the Catbird girls were great - no complaints, completely enjoyed the service and experience they provided. However the employees here were extremely cold and rude. I asked about using the restroom before leaving on a two hour drive home, the girl looked me up and down and surely noticed my 8 month pregnant tummy and told me No. Wow, after spending $800 between my friend and I, they couldn't spare their precious loo for 3 minutes? I still love REF but it's not the same as it was several years ago when ALL of their clothes were made exclusively in their DTLA headquarter/factory. I even did a tour of it almost three years ago. I'm glad I got to experience the behind the scenes since I'm not sure when it will resume again or if at all. Anyway, the quality isn't the same anymore now that a lot of the stuff are made in China and their sizing, particularly with coats and denim aren't true at all; you either have to size down two sizes or are sized out bc the smallest size is still too large. I wish they would allow product reviews on their website to help people decide on sizing and get idea of fit on different bodies. If they did this, it will help decrease volumes of customer returns. Some of their cashmere sweaters are gorgeous - thick weave, classy and unique styles that elevates your look. Their linen pieces are my favorite - especially the ones made in DTLA. They are thick and excellent in quality. I always try to look for older Ref pieces online bc I know they are amazing. I also really like some of their basics, like their tees and bodysuits which are made from modal stretch fabric. Their return policy seems fair to me but if you send an item back (I'm local), it takes about 5-7 days in transit. They use FedEx smartpost which is a very very slow shipping option. I think now you can just go to the store (if there's one near you) to make a return but sometimes shipping it back is more convenient but realize that it takes forever especially now with Covid-19. Racist. Went in to try clothes after never shopping for myself. I tried on 20 pieces... that's the max before you have to give back clothes and can try more. I gave pieces back. And the worker never cleared the queue in my dressing room. Purposefully preventing me from trying on more clothes. This was done after I heard comments outside the dressing room of same worker saying "oh my god" everytime I ordered another item to try on. So disappointing especially since other customers non black in other dressing rooms still were getting clothing items to try without that same reaction. There is a ding every time someone orders an item, I heard several dings from every other customer and no negative comments or intentional blocking of other trying clothes. So sad.... So racist.... I'm sort of heartbroken to see all the bad reviews. I had a great shopping experience here! So much so that I already told three of my girlfriends about it and that they should go. I haven't worn my items yet but the material seems good and like it will hold up. Some of the photos of ripped clothing looked like linen which I can understand would tear easily. I came in around noon and was one of a few people in the store. No issues with having to wait a long time for a dressing room as some have stated. Once I was leaving though, the store had picked up quite a bit so I would recommend coming earlier in the day. I had a great experience with the sales girls! I was browsing around and the lady helping me showed me how to use the screen (very cool, think Clueless) and add more item to my closet and what I needed to do when I was ready to try on. The screen is pretty similar to an online check out experience except you're just adding the items to your dressing room to try on instead of purchasing at that stage. Once in your dressing room, fashion Narnia begins! There is a wardrobe in the dressing room that has doors in both the front and the back as well as screen inside the dressing room. Need another size? Just order from the screen and close the closet doors. The stock room is behind the wardrobes where they fill the items from the back doors of the closet! The screen will alert you when your items are in the closet and it's safe to open again. In addition to this awesome feature, they also have three lighting settings in the dressing room! I could have stayed here all day. Never had I had so much fun trying on clothes! Initially I only put money in my meter for about 30 minutes but I had to go back twice as I ended up spending about an hour and a half trying on clothes, oops! All in all, I ended up buying 4 items when I only meant to go try it on... Can't wait to go back! read more

She not only gave me a bunch of tips on traffic and when to arrive to avoid crowds, but also took the time to ask about my wife's style. She mentioned she'd pick a few things out ahead of the store opening, and to our surprise when we arrived, she'd picked out over 20 different pieces! UPDATE 5/27/18: American Express closed my disputed charges complaint in my favor after no response from Reformation. After a lot of phone calls and emailing in evidence, I still paid dearly with my TIME. If I would give it zero stars, I would. They have a terrible return policy, which I abided by and a month later I still do not have my refund. They use a third party shipper that picks up your return once you drop it off at USPS. After it leaves USPS, it is untraceable to you. Reformation stated they knew my package was received in their facility, then after not seeing a refund on my credit card statement I followed up. Their reply to my follow up is that my package was lost in transit. They absolutely had no intention of telling me the status of my return had changed. If you return something to them, expect to spend hours of communicating with them and your credit card company. I suggest avoiding at all costs. read more

Horrible quality merchandise and completely unhelpful customer service. Carefully inspect everything you receive from this brand. I tried on a dress in store (Juliette, size 2, red) and they didn't have the color I liked. I ordered the color I wanted (black) online in the same size and style. What I received was a completely different fit - totally defective. I did not see that the defect was due to damage I did not see when I filed my return. I am not a garment inspector, but I wish I had reviewed every seam. They will not process my return, partially refund, or exchange for merchandise that is not damaged. At this price point, they could take some responsibility for defective and damaged products without expecting customers to be on the defensive and have to inspect every inch of a garment. read more

I was having huge problems purchasing from their website and decided to stop by despite the reviews on bad customer service to none tall white skinny girls. I however decided to suck it up since I love the clothes so much. I walked in and there was only one sales associate on the floor so I understood if she couldn't greet me right away since she was helping someone else who was leaving. As soon as the other customer left she came right up and was super helpful and attentive the entire time I was there. I was definitely really pleased and even though I couldn't try anything on because of COVID and get the full experience I am extremely happy with everything I got that day and will definitely return when I make the trip out to Melrose! read more

Ref's clothes look gorgeous from the photos and you would think you're buying high quality clothes considering the price tag. I have spent $1,200+ in just five months of online shopping with Ref. One of my recent purchases, the violet top retailing at $128, is super cute however after wearing it only once at home, it shrunk in the washing machine. Ok since I couldn't find any real sizing review help, I'm posting this here in hopes it will help someone. I always looked at Reformation online and I could never find any sizing reviews that gave reference so I never ended up buying anything. The other day, they had a 30% off sale so I decided to get a bunch of items and see how they fit. Also because they have the cutest prints and styles. Anyway, for reference - my waist is 31, hips are 41, and bust is 33.5 under and full bust is 37. I wear a 36 DD. I'm normally a medium top and a 28-29 in jeans. I decided to get size 8 according to the size chart. They didn't have a size 10 available and it did work out! Here's some photos so you can see. The back has some give so if it didn't have that it wouldn't have fit. Hope this helps! read more

Very sad to write this, as I have been a loyal customer for nearly 10 years. It is true what everyone says about how not-user-friendly the store has become. Don't expect to come in and spend less than 1-1.5 hours here. It's cold, impersonal, and inefficient. I've gone in before an hour before an event, needing to just grab a dress and get out of there quickly, but with the absurd queue system and how long people stay in the fitting rooms as a result, it's impossible to do this. I used to be able to call and see if they had a specific item in store that I wanted to buy before taking the time to come in and buy it, now there is no longer a phone number for the store to do this. On top of that, and the even bigger issue here, is the fact that their clothing has truly gone downhill. I used to be a standard XS/0 here. I'd order several things online and never ever have to return a single one. Sizing and quality were consistent, and I had a wardrobe full of Reformation to show for it. I recently bought a few things online, none fit, and I was left with a several hundred dollar credit that I took to the store with hopes of finding something, anything to spend it on. Not only is the store selection extremely limited, but everything I tried on was just off. Inconsistent sizing, awkwardly fitting, cheaper feeling fabrics. Just bad. Once I figure out how to get rid of this big credit I have, I think it's time for me to be done with this store. They got too big too fast and lost everything that made them special. :( read more

Reformation, the store of false hopes... From the outside (decor, technology, location) Reformation seems to aim for a high-end customer experience. However, something on the inside (system, management, workers) is faulty because I left feeling like I wasted so much time and never wanted to come back again. If you've never been there, just a little fyi-- A worker will scan the items you want to try on and put you in queue for a fitting room. There is ALWAYS a long wait The stockers in the back will get your list of items to try on and have them hanged and ready for you in the fitting room when it's your turn. Cooooool, right? Seems very streamlined and sophisticated, right? Well maybe if it WORKED CORRECTLY... I arrived at the store around 5:30 pm (they closed at 6:00 pm) and picked a couple of dresses to try on. The wait was 32 minutes. I asked if that would be okay since it would most likely be closing time by the time it was my turn. I was assured that they won't close the store until everyone in queue was called. The worker was very friendly and acted as if it was no problem at all. Almost 30 minutes pass by and my name was still not called. Another worker approached me and asked if I needed help. I tell her I am in queue but she looks up my name and tells me I am not in the system... at this point I wanted to leave because I waited so long already. But I had store credit and since the sizing is really off with Reformation, I really wanted to just buy something while I was in store, so I wouldn't have to go through the hassle of ordering something that didn't fit again (reason why I came into the store in the first place). BTW, I am normally a solid size 4, but in their slip dresses I wear a size 0... wtf? So anyway, the new lady adds me back into the queue and I wait 10-15 more (ANXIETY-RIDDEN) minutes, hoping that they don't lose me in this mysterious queue once again. They finally call my name, I happily enter my designated fitting room to find that one of the dresses I wanted to try on was unavailable. I was IRKED fam, because it was the one I wanted to try on THE MOST, AND the new girl helping me SPECIFICALLY said I could try on display version since it was my size. We actually found it together in person, so I KNOW it was available. But whatever, I just wanted to GTFO of there so I just picked the dress that fit best, bought it, but vowed never to return OR to buy anything else from Reformation ever again... Must I dare say, the Reformation Era is coming to an end? read more

I usually see a sign saying tech is down when the tech is down and that is understandable, but this said "Holiday hours 11-4" on a homemade sign. Customer experience was SUBPAR. Think twice before visiting this store! A lot of waiting, a lot of mishaps. I went into the store on Sunday afternoon with high expectations. My coworker told me there was something special about the fitting rooms where you can select different light settings and that I should go to the store and try on some items. So I went to pick up my order and asked to try it on after waiting a few minutes for the employee to retrieve it and looking around a bit. The girl told me there was a waiting list for the fitting room and there were already 4 on the list but I went ahead and told her to add me. After waiting what seemed like an eternity I decided to wait in the fitting room area since one of the chairs was available and sat there a while longer. The employees all seemed busy so I tried to remain patient until finally I got their attention and a different associate looked for me on the list and said I wasn't on it. At this point I'm frustrated but kindly explained the other associate put me on the list a long time ago and asked if I could go next since I'd been waiting a long time. She said that was okay and a short wait later I was in. I got to the fitting room and put my dress on (it fit perfectly but I expected better quality for almost $300) and selected the different light settings but I noticed a display which nobody explained to me; keep in mind that all the time I'd been waiting, I heard ALL THE OTHER shoppers asked if they'd been there before and how the fitting rooms worked. Anyway, as I was about to change, one of the associates--without knocking--opened my door to give the room to another shopper (not knowing I was in there...umm my door was shut?). She then shut the door with no explanation and no apology! At this point, I did not want to try on anything else or stay a second longer, so I left the room looking around briefly for a manager but since nobody was attentive I stormed out unnoticed. I should have known not to expect great customer service when the two calls to the store earlier in the week had been answered in a cold and rushed manner. Don't expect great customer service at this store and expect at least a 45-60 minute visit if you intend to try on any clothes. Reformation's customer service skills need to be REFORMED. Figure out your fitting room system and re-train your employees!And maybe call a locksmith? read more

One of my favourite brands! I love their dresses. But especially loooove that the clothes are ethically manufactured (environmentally friendly and NO sweatshops!). I do have to tailor the maxi dresses to my height (5'4) but love the styles of most of the dresses. Also, I do like the fact that the girls working here do not hover around you until you pick a piece. I enjoy taking my own sweet time to browse the shop and pick out the items I would like to try on. However, the girls are great at giving their honest opinions on whether or not the dress suits you. So feel free to ask them! :) read more

Boring/mediocre clothes at a high price. Sales people were vaguely friendly/helpful but seemed to lose focus or wander off when looking into things for you? Also, the clothing is very flimsy/not high quality materials or well sewn. Not worth the money. Also, note that this location DOES NOT HAVE the 'bridemaids dress' selections. There is a "pop up" down the street that is by appointment only. Do not believe the employees of this store when they say Saturdays are allowed for walk in. We walked in to the Reformation pop up and were very quickly and rudely dismissed. read more

Poor return policy. In store purchases would not refund your money to your original payment method. Which means once you give them your money, they never come back. I would not purchase any of Reformation product in my life time. There are thousands of good products in the world which allow me to return/exchange. read more

Ahhh I am so bummed! I have loved reformation for a few years to the point that I purchased their Eliana Dress for my wedding... like I loved them. But through experiencing their customer service my mindset has shifted a bit. My husband visited California and knew that I loved the company because of their product and ethics. He purchased over $100 worth of items for me but unfortunately none of the items fit me correctly. After emailing their customer service, I find out I am 3 days past the return policy date and cannot even receive an exchange! I received a solid no. There is no policy on the receipt so unless you reach out or really research the policy, beware! I myself have been in customer service for 8 years now and I think it's important to keep your tribe of loyal customers, which sometimes means you bend the policy for that 1%. Sadly Reformation has missed the mark on that one. The ethos of reformation is of high quality, but without good customer service the ethos can only take you so far. read more
