Review #1,106 Posted on 9.13.26 We came here for our anniversary on Saturday the 29th for some rest & relaxation while coming to stay at the Appellation Spa & Resort. We arrived and got checked in, then went over to the spa a little while after that and got checked in. You then go to the locker room and get changed, they assign you a locker which is easy to access as you put in your own code and don't need a key. You get into a robe, they've got sandals to wear too, and then go out and wait around for your massage therapist to arrive and take you to your room. The rooms have tons of space, a bath tub, showers, and then massage tables to lay on after some relaxation. The massage we got was a couples one and last about 90 minutes, it was very nice and I felt like a million bucks after it was over. Would return and do this again in a heartbeat. read more

I had a wonderful overnight getaway with my sister at Wine & Roses resort & Spa. Everything was Beautiful & relaxing, and CONVENIENT. Complimentary parking, & We did not have to leave the property which was wonderful. We had a great dinner at the restaurant, coffee at the coffee shop in the morning, & WONDERFUL spa services in the Beautiful & relaxing spa the next day which was my favorite part of the trip! I had a 1 of a kind massage with Michael, Which I HIGHLY recommend! He had a technique that I had never experienced before, & it was clear he was very knowledgeable & experienced, as well as talented in his craft. Solid 4 compared to other spas I've been to. Bonus points for the trees and relaxing outdoor area and resting tea room with granola and fruit. While on the small side, I do like the spa and cold plunge. Shower, locker, vanity area could be more spacious and decorative. Service was fine. read more

I had such a great time here! I came with a group of girl friends who had all been here before, but since I was the one visiting for the first time, the staff still took their time to show me all of the amenities and explain the process for getting a service, I really appreciated that! The spaces are so nice, clean and well maintained. I love that there were two outdoor hot tubs plus the serenity room. I got a 90-minute mineral salt massage and loved every minute! I even fell asleep! I'd highly recommend coming out to Lodi to visit and I'll definitely come back! read more

Wowza! My massage was with Kelcie (sp?) in M1. She met with with joy and enthusiasm. I dubbed her hands as 'magic hands'. She was so skillful with the amount of pressure she used and technique. This was truly one of the best massages I've had in a long while. Massage with hot stones relaxed my muscles in just the way they needed it. I would love to ask for her on a return visit. I was hoping they had bolsters to use so my lower back could be more comfortable. Hopefully, you all will look in to getting some so your clients with back issues or those who need a bit more support are more at ease. I loved the tranquility room, steam room and whirlpool area. We arrived form our wedding night, the staff at the counter were rude and our reservation was all messed up. We stood at the counter for almost an hour and it was past midnight. She didn't acknowledge or congratulate that we had just gotten married. I didn't like her attitude either. read more

This was my third visit to Wine & Roses Spa, and unfortunately, it left me very disappointed and upset. I have a profile on file from prior visits at this spa, and in the past I have always seen a female massage therapist. The therapist I love was unavailable this time, but at no point during booking was my gender preference discussed. Since I had previously completed a profile, I assumed my preference for a female therapist was clearly noted. When I arrived and was greeted by a male therapist, I was immediately uncomfortable for very personal reasons. To his credit, he was kind and promptly involved the manager to sort things out. The experience with the manager, Rob, is where things truly fell apart. Rather than asking questions, listening, or attempting to understand the situation, he quickly produced a printed sheet and told me I had selected "no gender preference." I was shocked. That is not a selection I -- nor my husband -- would have made. Instead of showing empathy or considering that there may have been an administrative error, he focused solely on defending the paperwork and implied the mistake was mine. What was most upsetting was the complete lack of sensitivity. Spas are meant to be safe spaces -- places where people come to relax and feel cared for. I left feeling blamed, embarrassed, and unsettled, when a simple conversation and a bit of compassion could have resolved the situation very differently. I strongly encourage management to review their booking procedures and train staff (especially Rob) to approach concerns with empathy rather than defensiveness. A little understanding would have gone a long way. read more

I planned a spa day for my mom's 60th birthday and unfortunately, it was fairly a disappointing experience. They called to confirm our appointments and told us to arrive two hours early (with our bathing suits) to enjoy the amenities. When we checked in, they handed us robes and gave us zero direction after that. We wandered around trying to figure things out on our own, only to discover the sauna and steam room were both out of order which the front desk didn't even seem to know. Trying to make the best of it and kill time until our treatments, we asked where the restaurant was so we could grab a glass of champagne while we waited. The staff had no idea what time it opened but made sure to tell us we weren't allowed to bring drinks back to the spa. When it was finally time for our treatments, we went back to the front desk area and they actually asked if we were checking out. We said no, it's time for our massages, and they told us to go wait outside near the amenities until our therapists came to get us... which was news to us. Thankfully, our three massage therapists were absolutely amazing and truly saved the day. We had a beautiful room where all three of us had our massages. If not for them the day would've been a bust. For the price and reputation of Wine & Roses, the front desk experience and lack of communication were very disappointing. read more

Best massage hands down by Elias! The spa is very nice and relaxing. Greeted by the nice lady at the front. She showed me around, took me to the locker, got me my code. Showed me the amenities. She was very helpful in making me feel comfortable. The sauna is oh so relaxing! I didn't have time to use the spa but next time I will be doing so. Hopefully next time they will have the hydra facial appointment available so I can get a massage facial combo. I used to go to the Berkeley spa but this one is even better!!!! when i called to schedule a facial, i decided to order a custom facial so that the aesthetician could evaluate the condition of my skin and provide a recommendation based on the evaluation. Hanna met me outside by the warm open fire and walked me to the therapy room. the moment i met hanna i knew that this was going to be a special facial. her energy was kind and warm. she suggested the age defying facial. the facial was divine and my skin was soft and glowing. the service i received was excellent. i live 45 miles from lodi and i'm looking forward to my drive to lodi for my next facial with hanna. the next time, i will take a photograph to share. thank you hanna. read more

The spa facility was overall very nice. The lockers do need updating because mine and another person's would get stuck, even with the correct code. The only feedback is that mine and my bf's masseuses each were slightly chatty during the massage. But overall it was pretty relaxing. read more

I invited 10 guest for a Sunday brunch. It's a beautiful setting. On groups of 8 or more they have a set menu with choices. Also keep in mind they do not split checks on 8 or more so alittle inconvenient. All in all the dishes were very good. Started with a yogurt parfait for the table. Then your choice of appetizer and main. My wife and I had the chicken croquettes for app and was delish. For our main we had the ah burger. Again delish. Two suggestions first maybe go with smaller buns as alittle difficult to bite into. Second the pickled onions they put on it were difficult to eat as were not to tender however tasty. I would recommend either they use sautéed onion or I would ask for them not to be on there. Overall great experience, service was impeccable, all dishes arrived together and hot. So I hate writing this review but I feel compelled to share my experience because I feel gypped. My girlfriends and I wanted to try out the spa services here. We each booked a massage (each of us paying $180 for a 60 minute wellness massage). It was the priciest massage I've ever had. My masseuse was Stephanie. I have to say that the massage was subpar. I am not one who needs firm pressure but the minimal pressure that Stephanie was applying was ridiculous . So I asked her to please apply more pressure. She basically said she was applying as much pressure as she possibly could and recommended that I get deep tissue in the future. I thought that was the silliest thing I'd ever heard. I've always gotten the wellness massage/Swedish massage whenever I book a massage at other spas. I've always requested medium pressure. And I've always been quite pleased with that level of pressure. The type of massage I got from Stephanie felt more like she was just gliding over me. I was so disappointed with my massage. And I was even more disappointed knowing I paid such a steep price for something that I was so dissatisfied with. I wanted to say something to management at the time, but I didn't want to ruin the mood for my girlfriends who seemed to have enjoyed their massages. Who doesn't love the feeling of getting away from the hustle and bustle with just a short drive to all the local wineries and restaurants? Wine & Roses has a great coffee shop that offers breakfast, lunch, and pastries. There's also a restaurant on site, so you really don't have to leave for anything. Update: My husband came in with the gift card on the same day. The manager helped to make things right and gave him a sample lotion as a parting gift. Massage was great. Policies are absurd and facilites and amenities were lacking. Had a gift card and they couldn't accept it because it wasn't physically present. I had the numbers, offered to call the person who gave it to me. The only option they provided was for me to mail it in and then get a refund, not even to come back tomorrow to handle it in person. They even take a CC when booking, so it's not like they couldn't charge me later. The person at the front was also super rude. To boot, you can't bring in an empty water bottle. You have to keep refilling a tiny cup even though hydration is key before and after a massage. The reason is because you can't bring outside food or beverage which I understand but they could at least allow an empty water bottle. They also said there was granola available - no yogurt, no milk, just dry granola. No menus to order food from the other snack place on property either. The cold water plunge pool was out of order too. I literally had just asked what amenities they had and didn't mention that at all. read more

My friend and I went today for the first time. Diamond set us all up. Her along with all the other staff was amazing!! I highly recommend Taylor for your facial and Thomas for your massage. Very relaxing, and refreshing. The whole team is incredible, I cannot say enough great things . We are already talking about dates when we can go back!! read more

This was my first spa experience and the massage was so good I felt so relaxed after. You can shower and they have everything you need to get ready once your ready to leave and start your night. The ONLY thing I didn't like was that they no longer serve alcohol. My girl said they used to at least have a 2 drink minimum but I guess due to covid they no longer do that. It wasn't too packed with people they jacuzzi was really nice and relaxing and they have a little calm room with a fire you can sit by. I would definitely come here again. read more

Very nice grounds. Lots of flowers etc. restaurants looks fantastic. However when we checked and called about dinner we were told it's over an hour wait. One would think there would be a table or two for hotel guests. We also asked what time the restaurant opened on Sunday and where given the time. When went the next morning around 10, again the wait was 45 minutes. We should have been told the evening before we would need a reservation. Bad bad. read more

Hidden gem! I recently learned about this place from a friend. It was easy to book by calling in, scheduled it a month in advance. Quick check in process and got me settled in to a locker. The woman's room was very clean and well maintained. The tranquility room was beautiful round space and very spacious. We had a couples massage and the room was quite large and very relaxing with a small outdoor area, jet tub and a shower. I enjoyed the prenatal massage with Claudia, highly recommend! They also have an additional piece to the bed that'll allow you to lay face down! Such a bonus for this mama to be! We didn't use the amenities, but looking forward to coming back when it's warmer to enjoy the plunge pool. read more

Unfortunately, I write this review to warn anyone who is looking to go to this spa. I drove two hours to meet up with my friends for her birthday to show up here and be turned away. My friend, who was celebrating her birthday, had called in to make a reservation a month in advance to secure our appointment. To our surprise, she was told we did not need an appointment and we could walk in. Which I thought was strange for a spa, but we trusted the word of this employee who gave her false information. We communicated this to the receptionist, who was not accommodating or had any type of apology for their false information and inconvenience. I highly recommend that whoever is managing this place make sure their employees are aware of the policies so that people don't show up assuming they will be welcomed as walk-ins. read more

The best spa, hands down. I have had the opportunity of trying different spas in various areas, (Napa, Sonoma and Avila Beach) and this one is the best. The plunge pool, sauna and locker room facilities are top notch. I have my pre-service routine down and enjoy relaxing before my deep tissue massage.
