By far the worst salon ever!!! I absolutely hate it when salons treat customers differently because of Groupon deals but then idk if this place actually treats all the customers the same. But I surely didn't like it and never recommend it to anyone. Went in today for a gel manicure and absolutely disappointed as the nail tech did an awful job. She didn't even clean my cuticles, but simply trim and file them. Only 1 nail of mine had dip powder but the rest were all clean of nail polish. Instead when I called they said $10 to remove the powder dip but my nails came off on their own before even going there. Every customer regardless of Groupon or not should be treated with the same respect and work ethic. Not sure what makes this salon think they can just file my nails but not clean my cuticles. Love this place! I've only had good experiences here. Not only are they open late for this full-time working mom, but they are clean, and Incredibly friendly. I had no qualms taking my little one here to get a quick polish for her, and it was only $5 for kids. I originally came here on an old Groupon promo years ago, and that is how I heard about this place. Since then I've come back for more eyelash extensions, eyebrow wax, manicure and pedicures. So I went back today after work (best to make an appointment) and it was quick,fast & very relaxing. They nailed the spa part! And they take their time but they don't do acrylics. Came with a groupon by chance on a snowy day. This little house next to the BP on Plandome and northern blvd is easy to miss but so worth turning back to park right in front. Downstairs fully complete menus for pedicures and massages and upstairs manicures. They use hospital grade autoclave sterilizer and disposable files. In their attention to hygiene they are spot on. Rose petals fill the soaking bowl, wide selection of Essie and Opi polishes and gels. Awesome special packages that make pampering myself affordable. I was with Eunice who is so professional and gracious and Jessica who is a licensed aesthetician and has a cheerful approach. UPDATE: went back yesterday. I still stand by 3/5 stars because the lady cut me twice! And I was bleeding. (Sorry in advance for the picture) In addition I had red polish prior to coming in and she didn't remove it properly so there's red polish one the sides of my nails still. However, My gel mani is painted evenly, nails are filed evenly, they have good hours and the lady felt so bad so that why I'm standing by the 3 stars. I've been to this salon 3-4 times and the first two times I had a great experience, the owner did my gel mani and it lasted 2 weeks, and looked great. However, last week I came in, and brought a friend with me since I liked the service so much.. Only to be disappointed. The mani was uneven at the bottom of my nails, there were part of nail polish already peeling off as I was leaving the salon and when I pointed it out twice, she did not understand me. I called back 3 days after and spoke to the owner as my nails were actually peeling and staring to come off.. She said to come in and so she fixed TWO of my nails, when basically all of them were messed up. Then she said if you come back later today or tomorrow I can redo it for $20 more dollars... Strong pro: free parking right outside the storefront (and we didn't see any meter) Having an appointment does take priority over being a walk-in - my friend and I came in last minute with an appointment and we were able to be serviced to right away, even though the other two girls who had already chosen their color came in before us. The best spa pedicure I've ever received. Since finding this location I don't get pedicures anywhere else. The Italian pedicure is my go to and leaves my feet smoother than my toddlers. I've been here on 3 separate occasions and each time I was able to park right outside the nail salon. They do observe one hour street parking, but I never had to go past an hour for my visits. The convenience of being within door to door of my car and plus their glass doors easily allow me to see right outside where my car is parked makes it such a great experience for me. This is a no frills nail salon. When I say this, I am referring to their color gel applications. They have limited color gel colors, shown in two golden trays. If you choose the few colored glitter gel polishes behind their stations (which I did today) you are charged an additional $5. I have never had a water bowl to place my hands in, nor did I get the spa treatment. Once the technician sits down, they start shaping my nails, removing old polish, and go straight to polishing my nails. I don't mind, I rather love the quick service. My hands are clean, and my nails are well maintained. There really isn't much they can do with my nails, nor is there much for them to do at all (i keep my nails well kept) which probably explains why my trips are always so quick. One time I opted for the massage, and it was so relaxing. The guy really works out the knots and their pricing is super reasonable. However, given the one time I did get a massage, it interfered with my color gel nail application so this last time I decided to forgo the much wonderful massage. This allowed my manicure to be completed in 20 minutes. My technician brings out two UV machines so my nails can sit under the heat lamp to harden at the same time. WIN. This location is clean, and inviting. They also have some terrific bonuses....aside from the lower level pedicure stations, hair salon and waxing rooms. These guys are open late. Not 7pm late...try 10:30pm!! The technicians are courteous, polite, friendly, quick, and skilled at what they do. Don't forget, the $18.50 Groupon deals are a steal. Clean and quiet nail salon on busy Plandome Road - usually find parking on the street or in the back. They use new implements for each customer so I believe it is very clean. They have late night hours which is convenient for those who can't get there until after 9pm! My only criticism is that you have to go down a steep narrow staircase to get a pedicure or spa treatment. It's okay. Two floors. First floor is the drying station and manicure area. The lower floor is pedicure area and I assume where they do the waxing and facials. It was quite busy when I arrived even though they said to come in at 9:30am. Waited over 30 mins before I had my pedicure. They did an okay job on the feet. The scrubbing of the heels could have scrubbed a little harder. It was for 5 seconds and it felt like nothing. Then I had to walk up the stairs to dry and of course the nails were ruined and she had to re-do them. Will I come back? No. There are much better places. read more

Just got my nails done here today. I got a gel manicure. The nail technician's name was Joanne. She did a perfect job with my nails. My nails look like little Chiclets (lol). She was proficient and I'm very happy with how my nails look. One other thing I noticed was the lack of "salon smell" of acetone in the air which is truly refreshing. I have always wanted to go to this place because It's right near to Manhasset LIRR. I have to say the location is at a very good area. However the place itself is terrible. I came here hoping to get a manicure and pedicure for my cousins wedding. When I arrived I was greeted with their smiles and hospitality. However, the area to get your pedicure is in a sketchy basement with no windows or ventilation. I had told a worker that was I waiting for girlfriend and wanted to start when she arrived. About 10 min later she complained about how busy she was (there was only 2 people there) and started and said we have a lot of people and too busy. I am sorry but a rushed job, isn't my thing. Where do I begin!? I have been to this salon for a Gel manicure in the past and those came out great so decided to try them out for eyelashes for an event. Came in and the eyelash technician was not even there, she showed up 10 minutes late to my appointment. I had spoken to the manager a day before about getting my lashes 50% off using a promotion they had going on and the eyelash tech was confused when I bought up the price to her at the beginning. During the process I could tell that the tech did not exactly apply the bottom lash strip properly and the glue kept getting into and burning my eyes. After all the hassle I knew my eyelashes were not what I expected, but I guess they give the cheaper lashes for the promotion. When I got home 5 lashes had already fallen off so I called the business immediately to see if I could get a refund. She said I could come in and they would refund me. They did just the opposite as the "manager" of the salon said she could just apply the 5 and could not give me my money back unless she removed them all!! How unacceptable! A very simple fill-in. I rushed over to the salon. Without greeting me, the woman immediately says "I can not do your nails since they are acrylic". My nails are not acrylic at all. Found a $18 Groupon for a gel manicure at Refresh Nails n Spa and called to make an appointment. They were able to get me in on the same day at time I requested (come to find out they're opened until 11 p.m. on some days.) I'm not sure what the name of the lady that did my nails is but she did a good job. They don't have a large selection of gel colors but I was just looking for a bright red (Christmas-y) so no big deal. They use LED lights instead of the UV lights (not sure which is better than the other.) I also got a mini massage while I had my nails done. I opted for a design which came out lovely & she also put on it a little diamond stud. I ended up paying an additional $10 I'm assuming for the soaking of the gel polish I already had, design & the little studs (didn't mind the extra $10.) My last gel manicure (I got done somewhere else) lasted only 7 days. I hope this time it last longer! This is a very nice (small) place which I would recommend (probably with a Groupon because it is expensive). Great nail shop. I bought a groupon for this place a few months back and never got around to using it and decided to when I was headed out to riverhead. You have to make an appointment! The groupon I bought was only 5$ for a mani/pedi!!! The place is really nice and clean and the staff is really friendly. They use liners for the foot spa and they also use new nail tools each time. A lot of nail spas reuse the same tools so I always bring my own but I didn't have to this time. My nail tech did a great job on my toes and was the same person who did my nails. Really one of the best manicures I've had in awhile. My manicure is still in tact after 2 weeks and it wasn't even gel. Definitely would recommend going here. I'm not sure of their regular prices, based on their service I'm sure it's more than usual but definitely worth it and they are always having specials on groupon ! read more

Just walked in for a basic manicure - no appointment, just found them on google and wanted my nails done while running errands. They took me without a problem - great price and honestly, my nails look great! I can't do gels for work, but I'm perfectionist about the polish looking smooth, and neat around the nail edges (I work at a hospital so need neat nails, and to add to the pressure, all the ladies - nurses AND patients! - are always very done up!). Wonderful experience at Refresh. I purchased a Groupon after seeing the great reviews and I was not dissapointed. One the pros about the nail salon is that its open very late. I got here at around 8:30pm and was immediately greeted by several friendly technicians. In addition to a gel manicure I also decided to treat myself to a pedicure and was glad that I did. Another pro was that this salon was incredibly clean. I could easily see myself spending the whole day here. The ambience was relaxing, not to mention they also offered massage services. This is also a great place for a girls day. The only con that I have is that the nail tech cut a bit too much cuticle off of my nails and I began bleeding. After I brought it to her attention she didn't apologize but just simply looked over it. It wasnt until I began bleeding a bit more that she decided to put something on my finger. As long as you dont get your cuticle or are very specific about not cutting too much off I'd say definitely give Refresh a try! Despite the snip my nails came out beautiful! read more

Sally did my nails and did a horrible job and kept giving me dirty looks. She didn't file my nails and when I asked her to cut them she rolled her eyes at me.
