Back story: I walked in, as I've done several times in the past, to get a massage from Bella. Bella was in the waiting room clearly available. She stops me and says "did you schedule an appointment with Bella?" I said no, not realizing that was an issue. But said, I would like a massage with her and clearly she's available. She said "no. You didn't book online so you must take next available." I responded that I'm here for a massage with her and clearly she's available, but she again refused and said I had to take next available. She seemed to want to pick a fight, but I had no idea why as I was happy and excited when I walked in the door, but now I'm confused and feel like I'm being cornered and under attack for some reason unknown to me. I then doubled down and asked if she was refusing to let me have a session with Bella and she said yes. I said "okay. Then I'll leave as I'm not interested in trying someone new." If you've ever had a massage then you know the quality varies drastically. My wife has had a few massages there and said they were all "okay". I got the pricing over the phone and decided I wanted to do 60 min. Once I get in the room, she convinced me to do 90 min. It was $90. So the owner comes in and starts my massage. It was felt therapeutic since I asked for hard. 5 minutes in she asked me where I worked. I told her where I worked and she told me to bring friends & I'll get a discount. She continued to ask me about my benefits at work & I felt very uncomfortable answering. It also defeats the purpose of getting a massage. About 15 min in the phone starts ringing and she stepped out without saying excuse me. She comes back and tells me she has a group coming in soon and that she needs to get the rooms ready. Well, after that, she leaves and different masseuse comes in. This person is a sweet lady and does her job very well. I had her for about 30 minutes without interruptions and the massage was great. After 30 min the group shows up and owner comes in and switches back with the masseuse. I told her I liked her and would prefer her instead. The owner said that I'd had to come back next time to schedule a massage with her. Are you kidding me?!? I quietly lay there uncomfortably as she's massaging me. However, the knots in my back were absolutely killing me and I HAD to get them worked on before they got worse and caused me mobility issues. I searched for massage places in my vicinity and Healthy Thai popped up. Reviews looked promising so I called and they were able to accommodate me immediately. Tui Na is quite intense so I opted for the 90 minute deep tissue massage here which I figured would be comparable to the body work I am used to. The massage started off with my therapist (Pam) applying full body pressure on my legs, back and hips. She then diligently worked on every part of the body to relieve all the pressure points with her elbows and fingers. I asked for high pressure and she definitely delivered. I particularly enjoyed the head massage and the part where I was made to flip around and had my neck and shoulder worked on. As with all thai massages they stretch your body out and I like that this was towards the end sort of like a final litmus test to see how well your body is flowing. Very reminiscent of the many amazing massages I got while traveling through Bangkok and Koh Samui many years ago. I was sore a day or two afterwards which is pretty normal when tough knots are worked on, but I am so relieved that I can move my arms around much easier and the pain is gone. In addition to the actual massage I found the facility clean, soothing and the staff was very professional. I loved the faint smell of tiger balm in the sheets and the beds you are massaged on are heated which is actually quite a nice touch. The only thing I would improve is the pillow situation, at times it became uncomfortable to have my head switched to the side, perhaps they can make you lay face down in to a donut pillow or something that mimics a massage table. Other than that, I highly recommend this wonderful place. If you are in pain and need relief, look no further than a few sessions here and I am sure you will feel brand new in no time!!
