Now every single year since it came out I get the yearly subscription movie pass because I absolutely love the movies. I also LOVE movie popcorn and Regal has the best! The seats at Columbus are good but the seating at Regal Strawbridge are phenomenal. They recline are comfy and it's my go-to place since I discovered it 3 years ago because I was living in Kempsville before I moved. I'm closer to the Strawbridge theatre so I go there now. The people at both cinemas are friendly and very helpful but there are a couple teenagers who are very "entitled and snotty" and heaven help them if they were my children because they wouldn't have teeth the way they I saw them talk to customers much less adults. ‍ I have to say it took ONE time for me growing up to say a sarcastic thing to an adult and I tasted that crappy soap I don't even remember the name of and NEVER did that again. But my face shows that look when I see and hear it from someone doing that same thing to any adult instinctively aaaanyway.... Loved when they did the Halloween Classics Octobers Month last year. It was very cool to see Rosemary's Baby on the big screen and other old movies. I would love it if they picked up where the MacArthur Mall Regal location left off with the monthly special showings since they closed a couple months ago. Now the closest theater playing those is the Suffolk location and thats a 45 minute drive. Now for the popcorn itself, its good. But sometimes the butter is pretty stale or off tasting but thats alright. Thanks! read more

There is plenty of parking. Bathrooms are clean. Movie theater is extremely musty to the point if one has asthma, avoid! Hard to breathe. Popcorn burned. Adult beverages expensive. Beer cost 13$. I received a $40.00 gift card for Christma. Me not being computer savvy had my friend try to get the tickets Friday to watch the show Saturday (the 25th). And she for hours could not get the seats. So saturday we went straight in the building to the kiosk. And still nothing worked. As a matter going to another kiosk to get the same seats. It blocked those seats. We ended up asking for some help and that young man did all he could to help. Let me say, we started this at 10 am and didn't get it until 10:30 am. With the movie start time at 11a. I was shocked at the seats (old) and very uncomfortable. I made sure I used the remaining money on the card (12.00) because I won't be going back. I was very disappointed with that visit. read more

The movie theater itself is nice. I wouldn't say it's anything fancy, but it's a normal theater experience for the most part. When you first arrive, there are little computers at the ticket desks. So you get your tickets there and then head inside to concessions, I suppose. We had a gift card and it wouldn't take it at the computer so we had to go wait in line with everyone else at concessions. There was nobody else around. The line was long long long but we eventually made it up there. We got our tickets and headed to our movie. Well she gave us the wrong time so we walked into the movie right when the killer was being revealed. Luckily I forgot who it was when we did make it to where we were supposed to be. But we had to go back out to the popcorn counter and get the correct ticket. By the time we made it to our movie, it had already started. I don't think we missed much, but still. It's also a little annoying that the movie titles aren't displayed on the outside of each of the theaters. It was an okay experience. A dear friend and I stopped in for a Saturday matinee recently. It's been a LONG time since I've seen a movie here - I usually go to a local Cinema Cafe - but it was nice to return. Located in the Town Center area, the theater is a standalone with ample parking. I will say the exterior looks like it hasn't been updated with a fresh coat of paint in 20+ years and could stand an update. We found the inside to be clean, but the ticket stands were closed. Instead, we were directed to purchase tickets in the concession line, which meant a bit of a wait since only 1 line was open. I don't mind the 1-stop shopping though and getting snacks at the same time as tickets. I would recommend, if you are a frequent Regal visitor, to get the app and join the free rewards program so you can earn points toward free concessions and tickets. We got our tix and popcorn. My first bag was stale, but they happily replaced it with some from a fresh batch. Given concession prices, I was not going to settle with subpar popcorn! The theater was very clean and they now have assigned seating in theaters which I also appreciate. This location also has a ton of electronic games and an air hockey table for additional entertainment. Overall, a nice experience in a clean theater with friendly staff. I probably won't stop in often, but it's good to know this is an alternative option for seeing movies. read more

Went to see the 2:10 showing of Thunderbolts. Movie didn't start til 2:40!! They show you mostly ads sprinkled in with upcoming movie previews. We did not know what was going on. My niece walked out to ask the staff if they forgot to start the movie and was told that the ads were normal to allow people to buy popcorn. It was killing us slowly. Showed up for a 2:10 that forced 30 minutes of ads on you. Movie was fun but probably won't go back. Yall need to quit that. read more

Would give them zero stars if possible. Took the grandkids to "try" and see a movie two times over the Christmas holiday. Once on Christmas Eve and than again the day after Christmas. Both times we were told after we got there the theater was down (broken). No notice either time so twice we packed up all 5 grandkids and headed to the theater only to be disappointed. The manager said he was sorry but could not explain why they could not notify in advance so we didn't keep showing up. Also, they were still selling tickets to the same shows that they know were not going to happen. The place is not run in a professional manor and I will never go there again. Go to one of the "professionally" run theaters if you don't want to be disappointed. read more

Ok so... we frequent this movie theater because it is close to home and it's never packed. I love the Regal awards and on Tuesdays movies are $5.00. The employees are always pleasant as well. Now the cons, The inside is a bit dated, and the food is more than other theaters. There are no reclining seats. To sum it up, I've never seen a sold out night and I've come to lots of opening nights. I will continue going. read more

I come to the movies a few times a month. I absolutely love going to the movies. This theater is a bit old but it's still nice. I feel like it needs an upgrade just because the seats are not very comfortable. I enjoy the vibe and nostalgia of just coming to see a feature film. My family is a group of "movie holics" lol. The interior of this theater gives early 2005 feel to it. They have plenty of snacks and drinks to purchase, they also have a small aracde too. They have cheap days you can come see a film and sometimes they bring back old films and that's always exciting. The staff is always nice and pleasant every time we come. Not sure why over the years I have not dropped a Regal review. I probably have been to over a dozen flicks. Much of my experience has been over five years ago. Although it's not my regular like AMC Lynnhaven it's a great option in Town Center. I attended the Proteus Film Festival which is a screening of local short films. I knew one of the actresses in a film called The Exorcist Book. It was cool sitting with the actress and watching her on the big screen. Prior to the screening I witnessed my first Table Read. 7 actors read from a script, very cool. I had no interaction with the concession folks, but everything was clean and it was staffed with two employees. With it being a weekday it was slow overall. The seats have been upgraded since my last visit and were comfortable. The quality of sound and video great! I had an enjoyable experience. I would not hesitate coming back and thank you to Regal for supporting Proteus. read more

Regal Cinemas are very traditional with their approach at cinematic adventures. You get the full experience of the early 2000s! Stiff stadium seating, overpriced popcorn/sodie pop and of course sticky floors! But honestly this was a good experience not the best in comparison to their competitors but you get the basic here. read more

I really do enjoy going to this theater because it is a classic theater that has of remanence of the 90s written all over. The best deal is on Tuesdays when you can get movie tickets for about five bucks. My favorite thing about the theater the dated decor and also the neon signs and the weirdest part is when you gone to the bathroom and there is about 45 your nose and no dividers on the wall so it's like walking into a community shower. The service is always really good and the theater size as fairly good no matter which theater room you go into. List after a great job of checking on the security of the theater while it is going on. I was able to purchase my movie ticket online for a Saturday night viewing. I pulled it up on my smartphone and the ticket guy just had me scan it. Simple. The movie theater was large and clean. The chairs were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean. There were more than enough parking spots, well lit, and around other stores so you can walk there if you have time to kill. My mom and I came to see Crazy Rich Asians this afternoon. We ended up coming here because the theater we wanted to go to was showing it too late. I'll be totally honest, I'm not a big "go to the movies" type of person but I enjoyed my visit. To me, this is a pretty basic movie theater compared to others in the area. It looks a little dated though. Regal doesn't have the fancy comfortable seats or stadium seating. They have plenty of parking which is a plus for me because one thing I can't stand is leaving a theater in the dark and having to walk far to my car. My local theater that I love to go to! Nothing too fancy, but the seats are comfy and it's typically clean, especially the bathrooms. The employees are always nice and there's at least 2-4 open registers open at the concessions stands during the weekend, which obviously makes the most sense! One time we went and I assume the AC was broken because it wasn't as cold as it usually is but it didn't bother me much. Regal Columbus is the default theater when my buddy, Chris, and I want to check out a movie. With new releases opening on Thursday nights now, and with Chris and I always wanting to see new releases as soon as possible, Columbus is the most reliable of all the theaters in the area. It's usually not too crowded, their employees are friendly, and I've never experienced a technical issue with any of their screens. Columbus opened in fall/winter '94 and thus it is in dire need of a makeover. With Regal Strawbridge having completed some renovations it's time Regal did the same for Columbus (and Greenbrier, for that matter). But the important thing is they keep the facility clean. From that perspective they do a decent job. The clientele is much better than AMC Lynnhaven's - Chris and I don't deal with nearly as many jerks who disrupt things with constant talking and noise. So that's a plus. I frequent Columbus and don't have anything bad to say about it. At the same time I've never been blown away, either. Still, they've been consistent in regards to service and cleanliness, and movies look and sound good. But they need to upgrade in order to match AMC (both Hampton and Lynnhaven) and Paragon. I always come to this theater. Its clean and safe, at all hours. The parking lot is HUGE and well lit, which is great on the weekends when it gets packed. The location is great. It's next to so much shopping so you really can stay in one area for the whole day. It's also located next to a lot of restaurants, so if you're not in the mood for theater food you're literally within walking distance to so many options. Tuesdays movies are cheaper. I forget the cost. I think it used to be 5.50 but it may have changed. I actually just pretended to buy a ticket online and it looked like it was $6.70. They also have deals on their food on Tuesdays as well. Other than that prices are comparable, if not better than AMC. I love Regal because of their Crown Club card. I've been a member of this program since it first came out. Gosh, like 5 years ago? I used to RACK UP free movie tickets and free food. I think they have set the bar a bit higher, now that more people are participating, so getting free tickets isn't as easy, but its still a reason for me to pick regal over AMC. Gotta get my points! PRO TIP:: If you go online and set up your account make sure you link your phone number to your account. That way the cashier can just look up your phone number when you forget your card. ALSO if your on a date, or what have you, and someone pays for your ticket and theirs and they don't have a card...be sure to use yours so now you get double the points (since 2 tickets were purchased). I do this with my boyfriend all the time and it helps skyrocket my points for half the cost! read more

We were some of the more "adventurous" people that ventured out this Saturday and endured the aftermath of the snowstorm. We went specifically to see "Downsizing." However when we arrived and approached the box office there was a sign indicating there was no heat in that theatre as well as another house for another movie. I appreciate the warning but I would figure Regal would have discounted the tickets for those movies. The only discount received were the military discounts with an id. Before someone jumps down my throat with rebuttals of "you didn't have to watch that movie if you knew there was no heat.. " , yes you're correct to say there are other options. But yes, they had the option to NOT show any movies in those "houses" that didn't have heat and they did. I think they would've actually saved money closing those "houses" and wait to re-open them until the heat was fixed because there was only 3 of us total in that movie house for that showing. It was like the tundra in there. Luckily keeping your coats on helped but it was still cold that I kept my hat on. So if you ever think about watching a movie where the heat or AC is down- slap that thought out of your mind quick! Just watch another movie or go home. In this case I would have but my only other option was to watch pitch perfect 3 which I would have had my sister not already watched it. Plus she drove and we were already committed having drove on these snow wrecked roads. Other than the lack of compensation for inconvenience of a house theater with no heat, it's a fairly decent movie theater. I do feel sympathy and empathy for those employed at movie theatres as I have worked at local ones when I was 15 years old and they're always open all year round . We did inquire about discounts for the loss of heat in that theatre but were denied other than the military discounts given with our proof of id. So we sucked it up buttercup. Although not my first choice, it is a respectable theater with comfortable seats, friendly staff and convenient access to food and town center. We went to this theater to see Jumani. We arrived early and had too wait prior to entering to be seated. The attendant was courteous and made conversation with us while we waited. The theater was full of people coughing, hacking, and sneezing. We actually changed seating because someone was coughing directly behind us. The movie was great. It has been several years since I saw the first Jumani movie. It would be important to see the first movie before watching the second movie. This theater seems fairly old. I'm not certain of that but just from the looks of it I'd say it hasn't been renovated or remodeled since 1990. It still has the look of the movie theaters I remember when Batman with Val Kilmer came out.... That being said, it's clean, serves it's purpose and is normally not very crowded. I haven't been here very often, I don't go to the movies much anymore because people are rude and let their little kids talk the whole time it seems every time I go to a movie, but the few times I have broken my "never going again" pact to see something like Iron Man or Oz it's been a decent experience. Decent theater. It's a bit dated compared to other locations. Employees are friendly and hardworking. I definitely recommend getting a Regal Reward card. This location offers discounted shows on Tuesday; last time I checked a show is less than $6 and 50% off popcorn at all locations. My biggest complaints at all Regals are the bathrooms. They really need to upgrade the bathrooms. I'm tired of playing "eenie, meenie, miney, mo" to find a clean stall.
