An older theater with pretty uncomfortable seats, but clean and staff are very friendly.

This place has been going downhill for sometime. A majority of the staff is extremely rude. Don't bother trying to order food as it will take almost a half hour to get it and then it will be overcooked. As for the concessions overall expect to be nickeled and dimed for everything. They now charge a $1.50 just for jalapeños that should come with the nachos. I know a majority of the theaters are pricey, but this place really takes the cake. They've lost my business. I will drive all the way to Charlottesville before I come back here. read more

This Regal theater was better than prior reviewers led me to believe. I expected a dirty experience with terribly torn seats. That was not the case. Yes, the fabric of the seats is worn in spots but the seats appeared to be clean, although heavily used and were not torn. I wasn't happy with the ticket price but high prices in resort areas are to be expected. The workers seemed more interested in talking among themselves than assisting customers, but they got the basics of their jobs done. On a rainy day, the Regal worked out okay. read more

Today was National Cinema Day and this Regal movie theater offered all movies, all times for only $4 plus tax. Taking advantage of this offer, my husband and I went to see "Oppenheimer" in the morning, and then returned to see "The Hill" in the afternoon. We easily purchased our tickets at a kiosk. You're able to select your seats from one of the menus. Each of the two theaters we visited holds about 155 patrons. (There are 14 theaters). The seats were comfortable enough and had two beverage holders at each seat. The seats are slanted, so you are able to see the screen from every seat without seeing the back of others' heads. These weren't however the super comfy seats of more modern movies though, and there is limited leg room if patrons need to pass you. The aisle/steps have lights to make it easier if you need to leave while the movie is still playing. Many patrons stepped out for a bathroom break during Oppenheimer as it's a 3 hour movie! The sound system was fine though, like many theaters, it was set WAY too loud. There were also far too many previews of upcoming movies and advertisements for concessions. Regal was also offering a combo small popcorn and soda for $4 for National Cinema Day, but we didn't buy one. The theater was clean and had free and plentiful parking. We would return, even with their usual pricing -- though their regular prices are quite steep. Regal does, however, offer a $21.99/month plan wherein you can watch unlimited movies. read more

Soon AI will manage this and the snack counter. Message: customer interaction is a dying art. Observation. Two people at counter. Two people standing around office laughing and talking. Assign all staff to customer contact gates. Once you get say 10 mins show time pull them for other assignments. the lighting was dimmed and step lighting subdued. The way the steps go need to be careful. observed individual carefully navigating steps. Seats are ok which worked. Sound was ok and not to loud. Temperature was good not excessively cold. The time to get past all the trailers took 28 mins. A show start time is 1:10. Do not worry about being late for movie. Pricing for tickets are high. I would have expected matinee price to be lower. We have moved here less than a year ago. So being at a smaller theater has definitely been different. We were somewhere that had multiple theaters in one location and they have the nice new recliner seats and things like that. So it definitely was a shock to move here and have a theater that was more expensive and tickets But I still have the original fold up seats. But we have still been going since we love going to the movies. Today, though, has really just upset me. We went to go to their summer movies, which are usually kid related and you can go for $2. Their website shows that they still have three or four weeks left of these types of movies. So we have been a few times already this summer and we went today and realize there was no one in the parking lot. One of the employees ended up coming out about five minutes after we were standing at the door as I was trying to call customer service to find out what was going on. He told me that they were done with it for the summer because the public school system is now open. Honestly, I think that is crazy. There are just as many private school kids and homeschool kids. So why would you not play the Movies? Also, you have to think about all these kids who are sometimes 3, 4, 5, and sometimes even 6 years old who are not in school and these parents are still taking them who might be going to public school. I know this is probably just a decision on each individual theater but it's honestly just completely absurd to me. The next closest location is an hour away from us, so there is just no feasible way of doing that. Especially the way things are now. Extremely disappointed in our local theater. read more

Decided to check out a movie when we were in Harrisonburg and it was overcast & rainy. Next movie up at the time was Conjuring 3. Great for me, not so much for my wife but she agreed to watch with me. No problem for a little extra closeness during the scary parts. We bought discounted matinee tickets, popcorn & soda and headed in. Note that we were required to select our seats, even though only 3 tickets were sold for the movie! Lol! We found our seats, left center. Very disappointed to find small, tight seats with almost no legroom. The kind if someone wanted to get by you, you would have to stand up to let them by. Now I must admit we have been spoiled by the remodeled AMC theater near our home, with overwide, heavily padded seats with recliners. Movie was pretty good, temperature was not too chilly, but sound was wayyyy too loud! So loud that in a couple scenes that were really loud, the volume actually shook our Coke in the cup holder. Very good but come on Regal, time to get into the 2020s. read more

Oh yikes?! What can I say that hasn't been said before. Agreed that they shouldn't double the use your concession station for ticket purchase as well. It was awful! I had to wait for someone buying all there Christmas gift cards, tickets, concessions...the works! Fifteen minutes later, though I saw the manager to the side who could and should have opened up another register to decrease the line and wait time for the rest of us, I finally was able to buy tickets and popcorn. The theater was old, the seats were just as bad...but it seems like it might be the lack of choice as to why many come here. There just isn't any other options nearby! If there were, this theater would be dead...and most likely closed by now! Will I be coming back? I hope not! Would I ever encourage anyone else to come here? Definitely not! This place needs an overhaul both cosmetically and customer service whise. The owner should be ashamed of themselves...they really should! read more

This place is full price tickets and not a very good quality movie theater. They do keep it clean, but for a college town, I think the price for movies are just too much. The seats are old and loud. Sound quality is okay. Never bought the food here. I do believe you get rewards if you have an account, but I don't go to movie theaters that often. The parking lot is huge though. Customers pay for tickets at a kiosk, which would be ok if the credit card reader worked properly. We must have swiped 8-10 times with two different credit cards until it finally processed payment. The Women's restroom is in need of a renovation and smells like stale urine. The person that checked tickets didn't have a pleasant look or any pleasantries to share. I tried flashing a big smile, but didn't get anything in return. Seats are cushy but not comfortable otherwise. The movie volume was outrageously loud - enough to damage your hearing. We froze the entire time and my husband is never cold, so that is telling. read more

Terrible customer experience at Regals. Ok Regal- You need to fix 3 things. Number 1: just sell the tickets. I can find a seat. Nobody likes the pick your seat in the screen when buying your ticket. My seat is torn. Bullsh_t! Number 2: I get why you want everyone in the concessions line but I don't want to stand there and wait for people to buy food. I just want a freakin ticket. Number 3: the kiosks don't work for the prepaid tickets bought from Costco. You get to payment and it doesn't work. It's really not that hard to test programs. Worst movie experience ever now. You need serious help and position to focus on customer experience in your company. read more

Really clean! What more can I say? I think the only problem was that they had some technical difficulties when they were showing ads before the main previews. I believe this theater is your best option in Harrisonburg. Maybe my standards are too high for a cinema because this place was not impressive at all. The seats and sound system were average. I usually don't hit up movie theaters unless I know the film will be a major hit. I went with a couple of friends to see Black Panther, a highly anticipated Marvel movie that's been hyped up recently. The movie was great but my experience was ruined by children running around the theater. We also kept on getting interrupted by crying babies. Just bad parenting in my opinion. They do try to keep this cinema clean, but I'm not a fan of their pricing. As a college student here, the tickets are charged at full prices of sometimes over $12. Overall, the theater isn't bad, but they should try to enforce rules when the film starts for the sake of other customers. read more

It would be difficult to find a more lackluster theater. The employees seem chronically bored, the food is nothing special, and you can easily hear sound from other screens when you're seated. The PG 13 film we saw at 7:30 pm had at least 2 crying babies/toddlers, kids running up and down the steps the whole time, and outside noise from other theaters. read more

Nice and clean for the most part. Ticket prices are a little steep. The stadium seating is great. I know that a military discount is a nice and unnecessary perk that I'm grateful for when offered, but just know that they are very inconsistent with giving it. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. For anyone in town who is military, it is worth checking to see if they are giving it when you stop by. Just a heads up! Typical chain Regal theater. Of course super expensive with $11 per adult ticket with no discounts for student and no matinees. Very large, however, so most movies are never sold out and you never really have to sit too close to other people. They have all the movies that are out and occasionally some small Indie type movies. Hate the food as with any Regal or AMC chain. This one is very clean and all the staff are friendly. I prefer Zeus theater. read more

This theatre smells like mildew. We were 15 minutes early for showing and sat in the theater waiting without any air or A/C going. Movie was supposed to start at 1:10. A/C finally went on at 1:17, still no movie, no previews. Just a dark movie theater with about 15-20 of us waiting for something to happen. Now people are going to management to try and get the movie to start. What is this communist Russia? 15 minutes late, still no movie, warm air and spent $4.50 on a bottled water. Don't go here. Movies were advertised online on multiple sites, bing, google, etc. that movies would be shown Sunday night at 9:50, 10:30, etc. 'It' was one of said movies. Used to go to this theater over many years but stopped because the stadium seating is very outdated--not enough room between rows and the chairs are too small and do not lean back. Instead, we go to Zeus Theater in Waynesboro or Stonefield Regal Cinemas in Charlottesville. Great place better service! Took my 2.5 yr old son for his first movie and they didn't make a bid deal over the cookies and sippy cup of milk I had in his diaper bag. After the movie the manager asked if my son enjoyed it and then gave my him a pack of gummy bears. Really great afternoon. read more

During my last visit to Regal 14 I noticed many customers (including myself) were upset because they were rudly ordered "Open your purse!" by the ticket taker. We were given NO explaination for the search, but when I asked, I was told they were searching for snacks. WOW. I'm not sure they weighed the possibility of losing business by insulting their loyal customers. I know I felt as if I had been violated. For all their trouble they found NOTHING in any of the ladies' bags. The sad thing is we had all just purchased tickets. UNACCEPTABLE!!!! read more
