Outstanding theater. Comfy seats with cushioned arm rests, clean with stadium style viewing. Worth the 40-minute drive from C-ville for a 4 o'clock bargain matinee.

Decent theater, not as big as the Regal in Charlottesville, but does offer stadium seating and a fair price for matinee shows.

I went here with my friends to see Obsessed a few months ago…read more The manager of the movie theater was a lunatic. Before the movie started, she YELLED at the audience that no foolishness was going to take place in her theater. I witnessed this woman get in fight with a group of people during previews. Go up to a row in the middle of the movie during a pivotal scene and say loudly, "turn off your cell phone!" to a girl who had only taken out her cell phone a couple of times to check on something. People will not go back to this theater if they are going to be treated like sixth graders. I know I will not.

We arrived 15 minutes early and upon entering the theater, realized there was NO HEAT (this is January). The lady said she would turn it on after she helped everyone else- why not before we arrived? Then our 1:10pm film had not started by 1:30pm and still no heat. I nicely notified her of the issues and she said she was the only person there and would start it after she helped everyone else. Once she started the film there were TV commercials for 10 minutes before previews! 30 minutes into the film we were still freezing and complained again. She realized she turned the heat on in a different room, not ours. So it blasted with heat for 20 minutes, then shut off again and cold again. No apology or effort to make the issues better. I train employees in customer service so imagine my dismay. My 650 friends on facebook were surprised to hear me complain, but it was too much. I write this review because I cannot find a management contact for the cinema. Don't go!! Several of my facebook friends also commented of poor experiences with staff there. Bummer!

Relatively comfy seats and sufficient room between rows. Generally helpful, friendly, and polite staff at concession. $3 regular popcorn on Tuesdays with the AMC Stub membership. Ticket discount on Tuesdays with the above membership. - - - - Somewhat in-your-face approach of certain staff with the membership sign-up. There's a difference between asking customers if they're interested and leading with "the only way to get a discount on tickets is to get this membership," which is the approach of the staff that served us, and I didn't appreciate having to verbally give out my personal information including name, phone number, and date of birth. I see the value in membership, so how about a less aggressive approach that includes a quick lowdown on the membership benefits? I noticed stains in the bottom half of the screen (auditorium 1), which was bothersome during certain scenes when the stains were more noticeable. The movie Baby Driver was AWESOME, and we'd definitely go back here.

It just is so cute and quaint and pops out in the Luray downtown skyline. My bf and I have been going here for years. It was so sad when the owner passed, it closed for a while and the town was simply not the same. Since it's reopened, we have continued to support! We saw the woman king here this weekend- the theater is rarely full but just gives us a whole showing to ourselves and maybe some stragglers. The decor is out dated but it just has an ambiance I can't describe. I love it here. Unsure who owns it now, if it stayed in the family? But regardless the experience is unbeatable. You MUST experience it, at least once. The popcorn isn't the best- in fact it's quite salty. But it combines with my coke so well!!! The vast options for snacks is unbeatable- where else can you get a toblerone bar, trolli sour worms, coke, and a popcorn!!?! Some movies I noticed are a little delayed in coming out here too- look people, it's no AMC so don't expect that!!! I notice they are doing monthly free showings for the community too!! Come support and watch every movie they show, I know I will!

The seating also reminded me of theaters from my childhood before the reserve and recline seats were a thing which was a nostalgic plus. The popcorn was also good and way more affordable than typical movie concessions.

Taking advantage of this offer, my husband and I went to see "Oppenheimer" in the morning, and then returned to see "The Hill" in the afternoon. We easily purchased our tickets at a kiosk. You're able to select your seats from one of the menus. Each of the two theaters we visited holds about 155 patrons. (There are 14 theaters). The seats were comfortable enough and had two beverage holders at each seat. The seats are slanted, so you are able to see the screen from every seat without seeing the back of others' heads. These weren't however the super comfy seats of more modern movies though, and there is limited leg room if patrons need to pass you. The aisle/steps have lights to make it easier if you need to leave while the movie is still playing. Many patrons stepped out for a bathroom break during Oppenheimer as it's a 3 hour movie! The sound system was fine though, like many theaters, it was set WAY too loud. There were also far too many previews of upcoming movies and advertisements for concessions. Regal was also offering a combo small popcorn and soda for $4 for National Cinema Day, but we didn't buy one. The theater was clean and had free and plentiful parking. We would return, even with their usual pricing -- though their regular prices are quite steep. Regal does, however, offer a $21.99/month plan wherein you can watch unlimited movies.

We have been to regal many times before to see our favorite movies such as obsession and black phone too, which are both rated R movies. This is important because we were going to see a new movie that just came out called Buddy, whenever we walked in, we walked up to check our tickets to go sit in the movie theater and whenever we walked up, we were immediately welcomed with rude customer service. he checked our tickets and told us what theater to go to and a very unpolitely and rude attitude. He then asked us for our IDs mind you we were with a trusted 22 year-old adults and where we are the legal law in state says that we need to have a adult above the age of 21 he has been asked us for all of our IDs. I then asked him if school IDs were appropriate because we are all in high school. He then said if you are not of the age of 18, there is no point in a very unwelcoming and rude attitude so then we left wasting our time and money at this stupid dirty theater. Do not come here unless you want to waste your time there is a specific reason why this theater is 2.8 stars and it is not gaining any of those stars from us. never coming back here. they played in our face and I will be sticking to our Charlottesville regal Theatre and the Alamo thank you. I hope this is helpful to those in the future, wanting to go here. Do not come to ghetto Berg. Thank you.
