This theater keeps downgrading itself when it should've been upgraded several years ago. I just returned for the first time in a long while. I was not happy to see that they got rid of tables, chairs and benches near the concessions. Now while my girlfriend is in the bathroom there's no place for me to sit and wait ... and wait and wait. Auditorium very dated and dirty. They did not even clean the auditorium after the previous screening. The staff's excuse was, "we've been very busy today." Maybe they are short handed, but that is no excuse for their customers to be sitting in a dirty auditorium, eating overpriced snacks and paying for overpriced tickets. Your patrons deserve better! I am a downtown Oceanside resident who lives at the beach and am very grateful to have the convenience of a movie theater right here on Mission. The building is older and iconic and I think it's beautiful. The location is right in the heart of downtown where you can eat before or after a show at all the new eateries we have here now. I understand people leaving poor reviews because it's older but I have zero complaints. The staff is friendly and attentive, and It's clean inside and out. All the top movies rotate thru this location and it's within walking distance from my condo. I'm glad to have this theater still here so 5 stars from me. And yes, bring a sweater it does get chilly! read more

Regal Oceanside - seat is uncomfortable - Cinema Near Me - Oceanside, California

Went to use the bathroom before we decided to see our movie we paid for. (mind you, doors are wide open to the public). Decided not to even go to our movie because the main manager, Lee Amethyst decided to yell behind the counter, "do you have tickets? Don't be doing that s**t", to us. My significant other has severe social anxiety and immediately walked out of the bathroom instead of arguing with the manager. He didn't even ask us about our tickets, just immediately attacked. Meanwhile we have kids skateboarding and idling outside. He spoke to us like we were children and weren't "worthy" of using his bathroom to his theater. Next time, maybe close the doors or think about a better approach to your customer base. read more

Manager Ava told me I could not use the restroom I've gone here several times, not a regular but I've seen a few movies here and there. No problems at all until I recently encountered the manager Ava. At the time of encounter I was just passing by and I needed to use the restroom. She asked me if I needed help and I said no I just have to use the restroom. She told me that I cannot do that and that it was only for customers and proceeded to rudely tell me off and tell me to leave clearly on her power trip. Had the chance to visit Regal in December of 2022 and regret it. It was so filthy. There were wrappers, half eaten nachos, and popcorn scattered all over the seats and floor. The seats are those old ones where you sit erects the entire time and they squeak. It was so disgustingly dirty I felt I needed a Tetanus shot upon leaving. It was uncomfortable and gross. I would not recommend it here even if they had the last movie on earth. read more

I have to agree with a lot of people on here. The biggest issue right away is no parking (we ended up parking in the library garage across the street which seemed to be OK). Another issue is the price of tickets which are a bit high given the quality (or lack thereof) for the seats, screen and sound. One thing we liked was that it was not busy at all inside, but the reason for that comes at the cost of no parking and having to walk. It's also not in an area that I would consider safe and I would not feel safe going here at night or as a woman alone. We ended up seeing Oppenheimer here because every other theater was always sold out whenever we looked but this theater was a ghost town and we could see why right away. Another issue worth pointing out is the time it took for the actual movie to start playing, it was a good 45 minutes after the time listed. There was even a blank screen up until a few minutes after the listed time, it made us question if we were in the right theater. Overall you are better off driving to one of the Carlsbad Cinopolis theaters on a Tuesday when it's $10/ticket all day long. read more

Regals Carlsbad was too busy so we decided to try Oceanside. We ended up leaving before the movie even started because it was so awful. First of all, the theaters are trashed. There are holes in just about every seat with sticky stains and food crumbs on the cheap fabric and arm bars. The theatre is so old that the seats don't recline like most Regals, or any movie theatre seats built in the past 3 decades, and the movie screens are tiny. I felt gross even sitting there let alone relaxing for a movie. Additionally, there were a few kids smoking pot behind us in the theatre. Gave all of us a headache so we decided to leave and ask for a refund which was a whole other fiasco. After telling customer service, they took no action from our complaints about the kids smoking in the theatre. On top of it all, they were unable to refund us the money because we mistyped the email so we had to call Regals customer service ourselves to try and get a refund from them. Unbelievably frustrating and disgusting experience. I'd rather pay more and drive farther to Carlsbad Regals or any other theatre. Don't waste your time and money! read more

We had to buy some time and we ended up at this movie house. Theater 5 is tiny. Floor is sticky like no one has cleaned it. The audio is super loud like annoying loud. We called their attention to it and the answer was it will lower down once the movie is on. Ha! That was a painful time sitting there during commercials. Will not return! read more

We decided to watch a movie after eating brunch and chose Regal Oceanside since we were already in the area. With a gap of only a few hours in our busy schedule, this theater was the one that was playing the movie we wanted to see and was conveniently located. Guess we have been pretty spoiled with the theaters that we've been going to since we were pretty surprised with the quality of the theater. And for the record, we aren't comparing this theater to those new theaters that offer all the luxuries such as a full menu of gourmet snacks/food and alcoholic beverages.  Nope, we are talking about the standard movie theaters. Anyway, we think that this is one of those theaters that is in need of a renovation as the seats were pretty worn and a bit dirty. If you can get passed the initial old and grimy feel of the theater, it really isn't bad at all - again we just got used to our movie theater which may have been recently renovated.  Once the lights dimmed and the surround sound kicked in, this theater was just as good. Our movie experience was good.  We both enjoyed our movie - the picture and the sound were just fine. Once the movie is on, you stop paying attention to the condition of the theater anyway. Parking was a bit tough - there was a parking garage but it filled up pretty quick. We had to make a few circles before finding a spot. We'd recommend getting there early to ensure you get a parking spot. Not sure how strict parking enforcement is, but the street parking is only good for 2 hours which is hardly enough time to get through a movie with the previews and credits. Overall, the theater was decent. Not the best, but gets the job done. read more

We came to this movie theatre many times before and this past time, was to see Black Mass for a date night. We noticed that the price for the tickets were $9 compared to the Regal in Carlsbad was $13 for a matinee so I'm glad I came to this one. HOWEVER, this place doesn't have the reclining leather seats like the one in Carlsbad, so take note. Location is fine, parking was just street parking, I found a spot across the street. The concession wasn't anything impressive and they're overpriced so I avoided it in general. However, the good thing about this place is that there are so many restaurants nearby that you can leave the movie and go straight to a restaurant to grab something to eat. Not too bad! read more

This theater needs to be gutted. I'm not sure that it has EVER been cleaned (see the photo I added, it is nasty in there!). I didn't want to take my jacket off after I saw how dirty it was in there...After reading all of the reviews about how dirty it is, I had to see for myself so we got there before they turned the lights down. OK, now the POSITIVE - $6 tickets & cheap popcorn on Tuesdays, student discounts w/ valid I.D. - currently this movie theater isn't getting the gang shootings like the Vista movie theaters. This theater is A-OK. The parking is the main negative about this place. You need to arrive early to find a spot around the corner. The last time I was here, we had to find street parking nearby. You would think that a large movie theater would have better parking options. This theater isn't very memorable. The seats are average and that of a typical movie theater and the general cleanliness of the theater is average. Sometimes, when they get really busy, the bathrooms are pretty dirty but I would say this is typical of any movie theater. It is right near the beach so you can go for food and drinks and a walk before or after your movie. read more

Great big theatre, lots of choices but because of the location, it is hard to park here. The seats are also so uncomfortable. Some seats nice, some need to be replaced. This is why it gets only 3 stars. Once you are used to reclining while watching movie, seats that don't move back AT ALL are very uncomfortable. The prices are reasonable. They give military and senior discounts as well as kid prices. I do like Regal though, you earn rewards, popcorn or drinks etc. This just isn't my favorite theatre. It is also first come, first serve seating. Stadium style so everyone can see no matter where you sit. read more

Dirty dirty dirty. Went to see Black Panther 2 and the as soon as we walked in the theater is smelled old and like it was molding. The lights were on when we got to our seats and we decided to not sit in our assigned seats because they were so dirty looking and went to the cleanest looking we could find. Lots of bad reviews but everyone has their own opinions. Yes most of the times the tickets are sold at concessions it's not the managers decision it's through the corporate. Stop leaving reviews on yelp and let the company know. Also, yes it is an old school theater and yet again the regal corporate can decide when to remodel this old building. If you ain't old fashion I suggest going to Carlsbad or a "better" theater. Oh and on Tuesdays is when they sell 7.00 tickets ONLY if you are a regal member so that's why the lines are long Tuesday! The location of this is really convenient, plenty of parking spots, lots of bars and restaurants around, lots to do after a movie. Prices are normal, $10.70 for a matinee, and $12 for regular. The theaters are clean, but smell a little off. The restrooms are also kept clean. The people that work here are always friendly, and helpful. read more

Eh. This place is OKAY. I've been going here for years because it's close to where I live, but if I'm not in the mood to hang around high school kids or a bunch of Marines, I go to the Regal Cinemas in Carlsbad which is only 5 miles away. It's the same theater, but a whole lot nicer, has more families and couples (instead of high school kids), and - just like the Regal Cinemas in Oceanside - I can use my Moviepass. Anyway, if you're coming here on Thursday night (which is when Oceanside does their street market), be sure to find parking elsewhere - DON'T EVEN TRY to park in the parking structure, it's not worth it. I usually find easy parking on Cleveland street by the Apotheque Lifestyle Spa. It's only a couple blocks away if you don't mind walking for a short period. I would have given this place 3 stars, but I'm docking one off because the film equipment kept crashing in the middle of the Ready Player One. The audience was a great sport about it, but at some point we want to just watch the movie and go home. read more

A friend of mine and I decided to take our daughters to this movie theater because it was closer to home. When we arrived it took awhile to be helped even though there was hardly anyone there. This Regal Cinemas is decent, clean rooms, good viewing screens (no assigned seating which can be preferred), up to date movie titles, tons of space, standard food pricing, and not so great parking. I've been here a few times and have never had an issue with anything about this theater. Could use an update but gives a nice homely feeling. Nothing to brag about, no bad experiences. read more

This theater is absolutely filthy. When you walk into the theater its a stale dirty smell. That is a red flag. The lights were on in the theater for seating. The seats were so filthy that I did not sit in the assigned seat. Went to two different rows to find a seat without chewing gum, visible stains or dirt. During the movie I continously was itching and felt very uncomfortable. Upon leaving the theater immediately coming home I threw all clothes in the washing machine and showered. The theater was empty, saw no other people in the lobby, bathroom or theater, only the employees. Unbelievable! This theater needs an urgent overhaul. First off this isn't the grandest nicest theater you will ever be too, but it's small and old, which to me has its own draw. It's in the center of town and has an old time theater life to it! I love it because it tends to bring the whole town together and it does it's job showing great new movies, which since this theater isn't too busy you can normally see new movies all the time with minimal crowds! We wanted to go to an 11:00 am showing so we asked for tickets to that show. We paid the lady at the box office and she handed us our tickets after she tore them. We went into the theater and sat with another family waiting. The movie didn't start. I went to the lobby and informed a lady that the movie wasn't starting. She said she was busy and would come find us in a bit. She was very rude. It turns out that she was the assistant manager and she came in a bit later and informed us we had bought tickets to the afternoon show. She said it was our fault because we had not read the marquee???? She acted like it was our fault and told us we had to pay an additional fee because it was a 3d movie. One of the worst customer service experiences that I have ever had. read more

Around $12 for us to see a movie at 8pm. That is a great deal coming from the last city I lived in. The food and beverages were outrageously expensive, but many other movie theaters are similar. Due to the prices, I recommend getting the rewards card. Don't be shy to utilize your military ID, student ID, or senior discount because it makes it so much more affordable. No outside food or drinks allowed. They will bag check you at the front door. I am used to the honor system, but apparently policies are tightening. read more

Relatively clean theater, some are quite large while others are more intimate. Blockbuster movies tend to get the larger theaters as expected. Theater worth checking out when in Oside Tip: Hey Regal staff, you need more than 2 servers at the concession stand on Sunday afternoons. Today's 15 min line was out of this world. With that mention, I will report that normally the snack line moves well eventhough the servers are trying to upsize with the candy that no one seems to want lol. I get it. read more

I love that the managers at this location are so good about policing people who don't have tickets and try to use their private facilities. It's a family environment in such a scary neighborhood, it's good to know they value the security of the guests! And if anyone has a ticket, all they have to do is present it at the door! The good news is there is a movie theater right next to where my fiancé and I just moved. The not so great news is, we did not love our experience there. After being gone for a long work trip, I came back and I could not wait to see the new Tarantino film: "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood." We were able to reserve seats and purchase our tickets online a few hours before the film started. We arrived about a half hour early, and we did not need to have our tickets printed, they were able to scan it through my phone. The line for refreshments did not seem that long, but it took forever. As an introductory moment to this theater, we were both extraordinarily ticked off. We were waiting in a line that literally did not move. Minutes went by, at this point we've made friends with everyone in line, we're all wondering what's happening. We looked ahead to the register to find a young boy who seemed to be overwhelmed. Once we moved a little bit further up, we realized the issue. There was four lines, none of them were moving, and there was only one manager over the age of 21 that was able to approve alcohol purchases. Almost everyone in line was ordering an alcoholic beverage and each person at the register was under the age of 21 so had to wait for the manager. Well, the manager kept going out back and would be there for minutes until she returned. Finally we were able to make our purchases which included a beer, a Truly seltzer (which I was so excited that they offered), a medium popcorn, Sour Patch Kids, and peanut M&M's. We really don't joke around when it comes to the movies! The movie theater is small and the theater itself was fine, but nothing too great about it either. It was definitely on the dirtier side, I will say that. There was nobody guarding the door, and at one moment in the middle of the film, people came in and yelled for someone in the audience to come out. It's startled the theater, so that made me wish there was some kind of security checking tickets. Overall, I will most likely frequent this movie theater because of the convenience of distance however, now I know to either bring my own booze, or plan to be an hour early for the sake of that line. read more
